Chapter 204 - 189: Engage in Battle

~7 min read 1,209 words

The monster hurried forward in pursuit, knowing that if a supervisor saw him, he would inevitably be in for a brutal beating.

When he reached the side of the rock and slowly lifted it, he saw a pair of shoes in front of him.

They were leather shoes, seemingly stained with bloodstains. Here, only those monsters holding whips and acting as supervisors were entitled to wear such shoes.

His heart suddenly plunged into an endless abyss.

Slowly he looked up, and, as expected, he saw the supervisor’s angry and brutal face.

"You useless thing."

A great force struck him, and the monster was kicked into the air, blood streaming from the corner of his mouth as he fell painfully to the ground.

A shadow of a whip followed immediately.

All he heard was a smack, and a new gash appeared on his body, blood continuously flowing from the wound.

Yet the supervisor did not stop. Another strike followed.

The sound of smacking rose as the unfortunate monster rolled in agony on the ground.

A figure rushed out to shield him with their body, miserably shouting, "You will face retribution!"

Everyone knew that it was a wife coming to protect her husband.

Many quietly sighed, murmuring that today there would be two more bodies here, and, unsurprisingly, their workload would increase.

Some people already showed anger in their eyes, but not a single monster dared to stand up.

After all, above this brutal supervisor was the fearsome Flying Sky Great King, and they vividly remembered how the Demon King had once torn a rebellious monster in half with his own hands.

In this world, might was right, and they had grown accustomed to this way of life.

It was only their own weakness to blame.

"These Cat Demons look unlucky, having angered the supervisor. It’s likely they will have no good days ahead," someone whispered softly.

And while people whispered among themselves, the supervisor’s whip had already landed on the couple, causing them to constantly cry out in pain.

Amidst the crowd, a group of Cat Demons looked furious, an immense rage burning in their chests.

"Damn it, die!" one of the Cat Demons picked up a large rock from the ground and forcefully smashed it towards the supervisor’s head.

All that was heard was a crack, the rock shattered, and the supervisor’s monster was smashed, blood gushing from his head, but this injury was not enough to take his life.

He turned around in disbelief and saw a group of angry Cat Demons.

"Daring to rebel? You really are tired of living," the monster’s face twisted into a ferocious smile, which, combined with his blood-stained face, instilled fear in everyone.

"We’re dead either way, let’s fight," shouted one of the Cat Demons.

Instantly, all the Cat Demons present rushed toward the supervisor like mad, and though they were outmatched in strength, the difference in their numbers made up for it.

In less than a moment, the supervisor’s monster lay in a pool of blood; he had not expected to be killed by a band of weak Cat Demons, and could only close his eyes in resentment.

However, the commotion here had drawn the attention of those at the peak, and suddenly a sharp voice sounded.

Following that, a huge shadow flew from not far away and landed in front of the palace.

All the monsters began to shiver the instant they saw the figure, for the Flying Sky Great King had arrived.

The most powerful and brutal monster had appeared, and it seemed none of the people present could escape.

The Flying Sky Great King had a pair of huge bat wings, a pair of exposed fangs with what seemed like fresh chunks of flesh on them, and a pair of blood-red eyes that fiercely scanned the surroundings.

"Who’s causing trouble!" he roared angrily, his words filled with rage.

Someone hurriedly pointed the way for him.

The Flying Sky Great King’s cruel gaze quickly fell upon a group of terrified Cat Demons.

"Haha, a bunch of little things daring to act up on my territory," said the Flying Sky Great King with a sneer.

The Cat Demons, scared into a huddle, were too accustomed to fear to harbor any thoughts of resisting the Flying Sky Great King.

But the Flying Sky Great King casually stuck out his tongue and said, "Good, I haven’t tasted Cat Demon in a long time, today you will fill my belly."

Having said that, he walked towards the Cat Demons, ready to thoroughly enjoy this feast.

A ghostly light flashed by, and the sharp presence made his heart skip a beat, as he instinctively dodged backwards.

However, he was a step too slow, and a sharp weapon slashed across his face, leaving a scar on that hideous, fierce countenance, from which blood flowed.

"Who is it!" the Flying Sky Great King bellowed, gently touching his face, the pain making him even angrier.

"Who are you looking at, big guy!" a brash voice called out.

The Flying Sky Great King looked down in the direction of the voice and saw a Cat Demon in a leather jacket and straw hat, holding a Curved Blade, standing proudly at his feet.

Blood was slowly trickling down the Curved Blade.

"Who are you?" the Flying Sky Great King asked in astonishment, having never seen such a monster before.

"I’m your grandpa, my name has never changed, I am the Bashan Tiger," said the Bashan Tiger boastfully.

Yet, the Flying Sky Great King just laughed out loud, pointing at the figure of the Bashan Tiger and said, "You call yourself a tiger with that look? What a joke, a weak Cat Demon dares to be arrogant in front of me, today I’ll use you as my appetizer."

But these words could not intimidate the Bashan Tiger, who had faced beings from the Buddhist Sect.

The Bashan Tiger smirked dismissively and said, "You’re just boasting, anyone can talk big."

This remark completely infuriated the Flying Sky Great King, who didn’t waste any more words and pulled out his Steel Fork to attack the Bashan Tiger.

The group of huddled Cat Demons quickly shut their eyes, for they could foresee the grisly death of the Bashan Tiger, given the huge disparity in their sizes.

As the two weapons clashed in midair, the Bashan Tiger seized the chance to flip up, stepping on the Flying Sky Great King’s Steel Fork to leverage himself right in front of the Flying Sky Great King.

Without a word, he brought his Curved Blade down toward his head.

The Flying Sky Great King was taken aback by this, the Bashan Tiger’s agility exceeded his expectations, and the long weapon’s reach limitation prevented him from defending himself in time.

In desperation, he opened his mouth wide and emitted a strange sound, which as it reached the Bashan Tiger’s ears, instantly made him feel dizzy.

The Bashan Tiger understood that the opponent was using Magical Arts, a type of sound wave attack that was rather rare among the Demon Clan.

However, the Bashan Tiger was no longer the Little Monster he had been; after several major battles, he had gained enough experience to handle this type of situation.
