Chapter 37: Charging the Rankings

Ning Dan sat in her chair, leaning slightly backward, pressing her back against the comfortable chair back.

In the video call, the female team leader was still detailing the specific data for "Confession Night," and mentioned that she had also listened to this piece and particularly liked it herself.

In this day and age, there are indeed many people who love listening to instrumental music, but in terms of audience, pop songs are definitely larger.

Penguin Music has not seen an instrumental piece charge onto the Hot Song Chart for over four years; the last time an instrumental piece charged up, it was because a classic old song had once again won an international award.

In reality, the promotion of instrumental music is relatively difficult.

Many people, even if they see it, will not click on it to listen patiently at all.

Therefore, "Confession Night" and "Creating Idols" are actually in a relationship of mutual achievement.

This variety talent show is too popular, the audience base is right there, and the quality of "Confession Night" is absolutely beyond reproach, so its popularity soared immediately.

Back then, "Confession Night" also climbed onto major charts on Earth, and ranked among the best, with one of the major contributors being Douyin.

Many short videos used "Confession Night" as background music, which directly made it go viral!

This is also why many people feel the name of this piece is unfamiliar, but upon listening carefully, they discover they have heard it before!

Ning Dan listened to the data, nodded slightly, and asked, "Does the data team think what rank this piece can charge to next week?"

The female team leader said, "Estimated top fifty at the very least, it's just hard to say if it can break into the top thirty."

For an instrumental piece to reach this point, it has not been seen for many years; it can be called a phenomenal event.

Ning Dan nodded, feeling that this was a hot topic that could be used for hype.

After ending the video conference, she, wearing a skirt suit, crossed her full right leg over her left.

Following this movement of hers, the black skirt suit was pulled upward directly, revealing a small section of her thigh, as well as the black silk stockings wrapping her rounded thigh.

She closed her eyes, as if taking a nap, but in reality, her brain was running at high speed.

"I thought I had already overestimated him enough, I didn't expect I still underestimated him." Ning Dan's full red lips curled upward, her mood pleasant.

"Tomorrow is Monday; for the new week, I really have a few more expectations."

……..

……..

The new week arrived just like that.

On the "Popularity Support Ranking" of "Creating Idols," Luo Mo's ranking began to grow by leaps and bounds.

This ranking accumulates total votes, but in just two days, Luo Mo charged directly into the top fifteen.

One must know, the top twenty is already the territory of popular contestants, and these contestants all have many die-hard fans.

This is a very dangerous signal!

Unlike the "Mo Sheng Ren" method of charging the rankings which forbids spending money, many fans of the contestants who were overtaken became anxious and began calling on everyone to continue throwing money.

Yet, Luo Mo's casual fan base is truly large enough; his popularity with passersby is excellent, resulting in many scattered votes, so on Monday morning, a wave of chasing and being chased played out.

Luo Mo's ranking would occasionally be pushed down by people throwing money, but after the money was spent, he would firmly charge back up again!

——Unstoppable.

In reality, the ranking on the "Popularity Support Ranking" was considered slow to charge.

At least it wasn't charging as fast as "Confession Night" on the "Hot Song Chart"!

When the charts refreshed on Monday, "Confession Night" started directly at 53rd place, and then in the time of one morning, it charged directly into the top twenty!

This data left the data teams at Penguin Music stunned.

"There's a problem, this data definitely has a problem."

"There must be exposure brought from other places! Everyone look for it, everyone check!"

After checking, they understood exactly what was going on.

It is indeed quite difficult for instrumental music to compete with pop songs.

But in reality, there is a group that pays close attention to instrumental music.

That is the people who learn Yueqi!

The appearance of "Confession Night" directly triggered a craze, especially in the violin circle!

"It's explosive, this piece is too explosive!"

"My god, I was watching a boy band talent show and actually heard a divine song!"

"It's truly deadly, this Meng Yangguang's luck is too good; what qualification does he have to be the defeated opponent of 'Confession Night'! It's simply his honor!"

"Yeah, what qualification does he have to fight against 'Confession Night'; he doesn't even have the qualification to be an opponent!"

"I'm laughing so hard, he specifically named Luo Shen for a one-on-one, and got crushed, right?"

Yes, these people who learn violin have already started calling Luo Mo 'Luo Shen'.

Setting aside what level the difficulty of this piece is at, and whether the artistic value is high or not, the intuitive feeling is just that it sounds good!

Besides sounding good, it is also full of emotion!

Most importantly, seeing it go viral like this, we feel great!

——Violin is awesome!

——Violin is the best!

Fire! Burn for Laozi!

Then, after two days of fermentation, many videos spread across the internet.

Moments, Weibo, short video platforms…….. one can often see many people who learn violin playing "Confession Night"!

It's just that most people only play a small segment, with the focus placed on the 1 minute 40 seconds mark.

After all, the whole piece is not short; wanting to master it proficiently is not that easy, and cannot be achieved in a short time.

On some short video platforms, many people who have watched "Creating Idols," after scrolling to these violin videos, will give a like.

Then, the effect was triggered!

Since some people are liking it, more people will post this type of video.

With more of these videos, the exposure increases again!

Later on, a scene similar to the one on Earth emerged.

Because this "Confession Night" is rich in emotion, everyone can feel the sentiment within it just by listening, so many short videos have used it as background music!

This made Penguin Music realize for the first time that a brand-new piece of instrumental music could actually erupt with such terrifying energy!

At the same time, they were also very clear that this was likely just the beginning.

The team leader looked at the team members and imparted experience to them, saying: "Let me tell you, the fermentation of instrumental music is slower than that of pop songs."

"The key point lies in this learning cycle."

"Look, on the major platforms right now, those people playing 'Confession Night' can't even see the full version, but as time passes, there will be more and more full versions."

"Of course, actually, you don't even need the full version in short videos."

"Moreover, after this piece becomes popular, many people who learn the violin will start learning this piece."

"Don't think that it's ineffective just because the user base is small; let me give you an analogy: if 2 million people learn the violin and half of them pay attention to this piece, that's a whole million! Hmm, just an analogy."

"It doesn't matter if the base is small, as long as the proportion is high!"

After the team leader spoke at length, a team member responded: "Team leader, should we go to the operations team and ask for some promotional slots for 'Confession Night'?"

The team leader shook his head and said: "No need, this is a phenomenal event; they must be keeping an eye on it too."

"Unless they are idiots, why wouldn't they do something that adds flowers to the brocade?"

……..

……..

On the other side, Jiang Ningxi and Shen Yinuo got into the nanny van, heading to the recording site of "Creating Idols".

"Ding-dong." Both of their phones rang at the same time; it was sent from the company.

Jiang Ningxi took a look and said: "Xiao Shen, the company is asking us to promote Chen's new song."

"Hmm, I saw it; let's just post it on Weibo according to the format they sent," Shen Yinuo nodded and said.

Chen, full name Chen Shanqi, is a quasi-First-line Singer at Xinyu.

The benefits of having the backing of a large company can be reflected at times like this; when someone like Chen Shanqi releases a new song, everyone in the same company can help promote it and drive traffic for her.

Chen Shanqi has great ambitions for this new album; she is preparing to rely on this new album to charge toward the throne of a First-line Singer.

This song was uploaded to Penguin Music yesterday, and today is just the right time to make a push for those major charts.

After finishing the Weibo post, Shen Yinuo said: "Let me see what place our Chen's new song has reached, hee hee!"

As the daughter of Xinyu, she still values Chen Shanqi quite a bit; although Chen has never had a massive hit, her strength lies in being steady.

After opening the Penguin Music chart, Shen Yinuo quickly found Chen's new song, ranked twenty-fifth on the Hot Song Chart.

"Twenty-fifth! Chen is worthy of being Chen; there's hope to break into the top ten this week!" Shen Yinuo said with a smile: "Hehe, let me see what the stumbling blocks ahead are."

Her gaze moved upward, but she stopped as soon as she saw the eighteenth place, as if she had seen something very terrifying.

She patted Jiang Ningxi's thigh in horror, causing the thigh flesh of this Leg Fairy to tremble with subtle amplitude, layers of flesh waves, beautiful beyond compare.

"What are you doing?" Jiang Ningxi turned her head to look at her, looking confused: "Isn't this normal for Chen? Are you really that excited?"

"No! Look! Look at the eighteenth place!" Shen Yinuo held up her phone.

Jiang Ningxi looked at the Hot Song Chart, her gaze fixed, her heart trembling.

"Eighteenth place — 'Confession Night'!"
