Chapter 587: This Song Is Not Right

The next day, Zhong Lin arrived at the Review Department with dark circles under her eyes.

Last night, she went to bed very late just to binge-watch White Night.

As it turned out, she hadn't finished it yet!

This web drama had a full 32 episodes, and she really couldn't finish it all at once.

This couldn't help but make her feel a few more emotions.

"Did Luo Mo seem to have cured his own habit of being short?"

In the past, the anime and web dramas produced by Luo Mo were, well, short.

Just look at That Year Those Rabbits, with its episodes only a few minutes long.

The mere three episodes of Fog Hill of Five Elements.

The measly 15 episodes of Reset.

And the 20 episodes of Forensic Qin Ming.

These 32 episodes of White Night, if put in someone else's hands, would feel like a normal standard.

But coming from Luo Mo, it felt a bit like an extraordinary performance.

In Zhong Lin's view, the drama White Night was very detailed, extremely detailed.

So detailed that she once suspected whether the people in the production crew all had obsessive-compulsive disorder, or if they were all detail fanatics.

Compared to the crude and shoddy web dramas that couldn't stand up to scrutiny, White Night was done very well in every aspect.

And seeing the end, a shocking Reversal made Zhong Lin roughly understand the lyrics of the ending theme song, "The Day Doesn't Understand the Night's Darkness"!

Guan Hongyu was suspected of being the culprit in the 2.13 mass murder case, all because of his older brother, Guan Hongfeng!

To be precise, it was originally Guan Hongfeng who was set up; he was the one who left his younger brother Guan Hongyu's fingerprints at the scene!

By doing this, he ensured he could remain unrestrained to find out the truth!

This part of the Drama made Zhong Lin's scalp tingle!

Earlier, she had been wondering why Guan Hongyu had inexplicably become a suspect.

But no matter how she thought about it, no matter how she guessed, she couldn't have guessed it was because of Guan Hongfeng!

Zhong Lin just kept watching like this, and kept watching.

Finally, she reached the last episode.

But for some reason, she was a bit reluctant to watch it.

After drinking a few sips of Coffee, she clicked on the final episode of White Night.

Then, she was completely conquered by Zhou Tong's acting.

She suddenly felt that Zhou Tong wasn't just playing four roles at once.

In the interrogation room, acting detachment captain Zhou Xun kept reminiscing about his past with Guan Hongfeng, and about the experiences the two of them had shared over so many years.

Finally, he said: "It's been so many years, and I actually failed to make a friend out of you."

As soon as he finished speaking, Guan Hongfeng, who had been leaning against the chair in handcuffs, leaned his body slightly forward.

Originally completely merged into the darkness, this forward posture caused half of his body to be bathed in the dim light.

Then, he smiled.

In this final smile, half of his face was lit, and half was in the darkness.

It was clearly one face, yet half of it made people feel it was the calm and steady Guan Hongfeng, while the other half made people feel it was the completely different personality of Guan Hongyu!

Under the interweaving of light and shadow, half the face was calm, and half the face was smiling!

Just this one close-up shot made Zhong Lin's scalp tingle!

At first, she had almost determined whether it was Guan Hongyu or Guan Hongfeng who had been caught and brought to the police station.

However, looking at this hair-raising smile that gave her goosebumps, she was completely unable to distinguish between them for a moment!

"Who is he!?"

"Who exactly is he!?"

"It's Guan Hongyu, right!?"

The entire web drama, at this point, was declared over.

Zhong Lin instantly felt that her whole being was not okay.

There were too many plot holes, too many plot holes left unfilled!

Even the most critical 2.13 mass murder case still had no conclusion.

Throughout the entire drama, from the first episode to the very last, too many, many mysteries were left behind.

Many parts that previously made people feel unreasonable, with the development of the Drama, instead became strokes of genius!

"This is clearly meant to have a second season!" Zhong Lin thought to herself.

This posture of obviously telling everyone there would be a second season clearly showed the entire crew's confidence in this web drama, firmly believing it wouldn't flop, firmly believing it would be a hit, and firmly believing they could continue filming!

"I thought that because of the convenience of my position in the Review Department, I could finish it in one go without having to suffer."

"As it turns out, in the end, I've entered an even longer wait than everyone else."

Luo Mo, I've been tortured by you!

………

………

White Night passed the review with extremely high efficiency.

Regarding this, the internal staff at Penguin Video were already used to it, and defaulted to the idea that this had nothing to do with us at Penguin, it was purely that Luo Mo had the ability himself.

Since the web drama had successfully passed the review, some promotional work could then be smoothly followed up.

According to Luo Mo's arrangements, the first thing to do was to upload "The Day Doesn't Understand the Night's Darkness," sung by Xu Chujing, to Penguin Music.

As for Luo Mo's own male vocal version, it will not be released for the time being; it will be uploaded to Penguin Music simultaneously when the entire web series officially begins airing.

For music fans, there is another new song from Heavenly Queen Xu to listen to, and the song was personally helmed by Luo Mo, which is practically like celebrating the New Year.

"Ahhh! Looking forward to the new song from the Mo Xu CP!"

"Ox! Before, all the songs were left for Tong Shu to sing, but this time the Heavenly Queen has actually taken the field herself!"

"《The Day Doesn't Understand the Night's Darkness》, the song title is quite interesting."

"Speaking of which, where are your new albums!?"

"Oh right! Luo Mo didn't release a new album this year!"

"Blade-Blade Luo: What could be happier than knifing oneself when making an album?"

"Mo the Pigeon: New album? It's on the way, it's on the way!"

When it reached exactly ten o'clock the next morning, 《The Day Doesn't Understand the Night's Darkness》, sung by Xu Chujing, was officially released on Penguin Music.

In an instant, a large number of music fans flooded into Penguin Music, starting to preview or download the new song.

A certain well-known music critic who became famous for her legs, 【Leshen Dama】, was also among this crowd.

As a music critic, Leshen is relatively sensitive, especially regarding lyrics.

However, after listening to it, she didn't think too much, only feeling: "This is just a Romance song."

The song is pleasant to listen to, and Luo Mo's standard remains online.

But for the time being, she did not discover any particularly special aspects within it.

"But looking at this drama title, it does have the two characters 【White】 and 【Night】 overlapping."

"Apart from this point, it feels like it doesn't reveal too much information related to the web series."

"However, this is also normal; mainstream Romance songs are what the Masses love most. For a Suspense drama like this, using a Romance song as background music is also quite good; after all, there should be a Romance line in the drama."

It's just that, for a high-level music critic like Leshen, her taste had long been spoiled by that song of Luo Mo's, 《Chapter Seven of the Night》.

Honestly, when everyone saw that Luo Mo personally helmed the lyrics and composition, and it was also sung by Xu Chujing, the expectation level was instantly pulled to the maximum, thinking it would be like 《Chapter Seven of the Night》, belonging to an extremely trendy song with a large amount of innovation.

Therefore, Leshen actually still had a small amount of disappointment.

The song is definitely a good song, and it feels like the kind of golden-standard song that can be popular for many years.

"But the sense of amazement is still a bit low."

"Perhaps my Requirement for Luo Mo is truly too high," Leshen thought to herself.

She pondered for about ten minutes and had a rough idea for writing the music review.

But after finishing the music review of over 500 words, before publishing it, she suddenly had some hesitation.

"I just feel like something isn't right," Leshen thought to herself.

"Even if Luo Mo didn't specifically write a new song with a Suspense atmosphere for this web series, wouldn't it be very easy for him to write one with a style similar to 《Chapter Seven of the Night》?"

"Or rather, 《Chapter Seven of the Night》 could also be used directly; doesn't it also have the character 【Night】?"

Her music review was written very ordinarily because she could not find any place in this song that could be linked to the Suspense attribute for the time being.

But Leshen carefully recalled various things from the past and felt that Luo Mo was not the type of person who would be content with just making do.

And this person is extremely confident!

Others might think that a song written specifically for a drama is not as easy to become a hit, and it would be better to make a mainstream Romance song.

But Luo Mo wouldn't!

Thinking of this, Leshen first searched for music reviews written by other music critics online.

Sure enough, everyone was analyzing this song from the perspective of a Romance song.

"Forget it, no rush! With my popularity, one more music review or one less music review doesn't really matter; there's no need to risk my life to keep up with the hot topics."

"How about... playing it safe?"

"Wait until 《White Night》 updates, and after I watch the drama, I'll write the music review!"

Leshen felt that perhaps there would be new gains this way.
