Chapter 594: Who Dares!?

Inside the hall of the Fan Hua Award, a deathly silence suddenly fell.

It is currently being broadcast live!

Every audience member watching the live broadcast was left dumbfounded.

In everyone's impression, award ceremonies these days are actually quite boring; the main suspense lies simply in who the awards are given to.

Because we are in the great era of the internet, many celebrities' speeches and performances have become more official, more humble, and more low-key, to avoid being torn apart by criticism.

If it were many years ago, quite a few celebrities still had plenty of personality, and what many people said at award ceremonies was actually quite worth watching.

However, that was what you call "worth watching."

What Luo Mo did is completely a "bombshell"!

"Incredible! The few things he said were incredible!"

"Hahaha, refusing to accept the award, and with sound logic and evidence!"

"The logic is correct, and the reasoning is also correct!"

"What's the matter? Looking down on our Monkey King: Hero is Back?"

"Exactly, our debut work is clearly Monkey King: Hero is Back!"

"Hey! Taste my grandson's staff!"

Many ordinary viewers actually don't understand some of the "unspoken rules" of award ceremonies, nor do they understand these unwritten conventions.

Therefore, these people's attention was entirely focused on Monkey King: Hero is Back.

Especially those who like this movie felt even more that the group of expert judges at the Fan Hua Award were very disrespectful to this high-quality domestic animated film!

A dignified, phenomenal blockbuster that opened up a new era, the box office champion of domestic animated films—in your eyes, it doesn't even count as a "movie," right?

And some viewers watching the live broadcast knew some of the tricks behind it.

They started popularizing knowledge for everyone in the bullet comments and on social media platforms, telling everyone that the Fan Hua Award's intentions were sinister.

At this moment, Feng Ji and Qian Qingyun, sitting in the front row, exchanged a glance, then smiled at each other.

Li Dongliang and Fang Jie, sitting in the same row, revealed looks of astonishment.

Can you even do things this way!?

Tian Ou, sitting behind them, was left completely stunned.

Yet he was the one with the least right to speak.

Because he was originally at the top of the newcomer director box office list, and the box office record of his debut work, Car King, was witnessed being surpassed by Luo Mo's debut work, Monkey King: Hero is Back!

The crowd of celebrities invited to the scene were all shocked by Luo Mo.

And in a certain row of seats, a not-so-small commotion was instantly triggered.

Sitting here were the expert judge representatives of the Fan Hua Award.

Not all expert judges were present; only a portion had come to the scene.

This group of people, everyone was familiar with the selection style of the Fan Hua Award, which were the few sentences established at the time of this award's founding.

"【Recognize no relatives, recognize only the work,"

"Listen to all sides, steer the helm yourself,"

"Hold no prejudice, follow Kindness,"

"Fully consult, consider the overall situation.】"

It's just that, these years, they are Afraid they've all forgotten it, or only achieved a few sentences within it, and even then, they took them out of context.

Now, the expressions of these expert judges all revealed a few big words: "How do we handle this!?"

Everything happened too suddenly!

This kid clearly didn't know what was good for him; they gave him an award, and he refused to accept it, not knowing how to be content or show Gratitude!

That would be one thing, but he even picked out our faults! Saying we got it wrong!

Yet, you have no way to lash out.

Yes, animated films are indeed not taken seriously among the three major film awards in Huaxia.

To this day, I haven't seen any animated work win any major award of significant weight.

Frankly speaking, in the eyes of these expert judges, live-action films are indeed a cut above.

Moreover, since they had to manipulate things, of course it would be better to let the Medicine team take another small award; on the surface, it would look more passable.

Furthermore, if the debut award were given to Monkey King: Hero is Back, then Luo Mo's Medicine would no longer count as a newcomer director's work, but would count as his second film, making him someone with Seniority.

Wouldn't he then be even more qualified to participate in the competition for subsequent awards?

We are all judges with a conscience; we never do bad things in broad daylight!

However, let me ask you one thing.

Who dares to stand up and say that animated films don't count?

Who dares to stand up and refute Luo Mo's words?

You—who dares!?

……..

……..

At this very moment, in the eyes of many celebrities, Luo Mo's behavior of openly challenging the Fan Hua Award already felt a bit like a direct falling out.

But because it was a live broadcast, and the person was righteous and confident, the Fan Hua Award had to quickly respond to resolve this "live broadcast accident."

The host standing on stage soon received the message conveyed by someone who could make the final decision.

A male host gave a light cough and said: "The organizers have fully considered Director Luo's opinion. Regarding the 【Best Director Debut Award】, it will be discussed again, and we will give an answer to Luo Mo and the public who have been following the Fan Hua Award later."

After saying a whole bunch of words, the host hurriedly began to push the process forward and started presenting the subsequent awards.

The two presenters for the 【Best Screenplay Award】, in this awkward atmosphere, bit the bullet and went up on stage.

Luo Mo had already returned the microphone and then sat back down in a leisurely manner.

As for that Fan Hua Goddess trophy, it had long since been taken back by the staff.

From beginning to end, Luo Mo did not even glance at it once.

Now, although the new award categories had begun, many people's peripheral vision still drifted toward Luo Mo's side from time to time.

"Too unyielding; his performance just now was truly too unyielding."

Yet, when everyone recalled Luo Mo's past conduct, they felt it was unexpected, but within reason.

He is just that kind of personality!

This is a person who, when he had no money or influence and was still just a trainee, dared to confront the behemoths of Pineapple Entertainment and Pineapple TV head-on!

And as for what followed, the development of events was indeed as everyone had expected.

Luo Mo was not shortlisted for 【Best Screenwriter】.

With a novel subject matter like *I Am Not Medicine God*, a shocking story, and terrifying social influence, he actually didn't even get a nomination!

This caused the comments in the Live Broadcast to explode instantly.

"Ah! The popular science from earlier was actually true!"

"So they really just give a Newcomer award and then exclude him from the subsequent major awards!"

"Damn, does this screenwriter deserve to win?"

"I watched this movie, the story was alright, but..."

"Unbelievable! Simply unbelievable!"

Honestly, if Luo Mo had just accepted the award and stood up there grinning to give his acceptance speech, the audience wouldn't actually be this angry.

Because hadn't he just received an award?

But after the earlier turmoil, how could it still be the same?

This winning screenwriter went on stage to accept the trophy and gave a long acceptance speech, sounding a bit incoherent.

His words were very humble, and he expressed that he would work twice as hard in the future.

But in reality, he had written and directed a movie himself; he was not a pure screenwriter, he had powerful capital backing him, and he was also a second-generation star.

It is said that this person has a powerful screenwriting team, but in the screenwriter column, his name is always the only one there; he can certainly be considered to have magical powers.

The camera in the Live Broadcast swept across the guests at the venue, but it simply didn't dare to sweep in Luo Mo's direction; it didn't dare to give him any screen time.

After Luo Mo "forgot" the trophy on the stage and refused to accept the award, who would still dare to give him a close-up?

And the next award to be presented was one of the most significant awards of the entire Fan Hua Film Festival—【Best Director】!

The director is the king of the film set.

The weight of the Best Director Award can be imagined.

In an instant, many directors at the scene became nervous.

But the problem is, you all didn't even have the qualifications to feel this nervousness in the first place!

If it weren't for the fact that everyone knew Luo Mo didn't even occupy one of the five Nomination spots for the 【Best Director Award】, many people could have just given up entirely in the face of the movie *Medicine God*.

Your current nervousness and anxiety are even a gift!

Two veteran actors of very high seniority began to go on stage to announce the list of nominations.

"*Ten Thousand Demon Kingdom*, Director Li Dongliang."

"*Snow Ridge*, Director Feng Ji."

"..."

"*Car King 2*, Director Tian Ou."

One after another, names and film titles were announced; there was no Luo Mo, and no *I Am Not Medicine God*.
