Chapter 531

"Understood!"

"Let Cao Chun lead the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry to charge! Charge! Charge!"

"Understood!"

Gao Shun's side also moved!

Gan Ning and Huang Zhong each led an elite unit to face Xu Chu and Xia Hou Dun!

When enemies meet, they are especially jealous.

"Kill!"

In close-quarters combat, swords, spears, and halberds were all directed at the opponent, and they fought in an inextricable struggle!

"Boom!"

With thundering hoofbeats, Dian Wei and Cao Chun led Cao Cao's most elite Tiger and Leopard Cavalry to kill!

Zhang Fei and Chen Dao also led Liu Bei's personal guard cavalry to meet them!

After a rain of arrows and crossbow bombardment, the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry were prepared this time, each man equipped with a shield, so the lethality was limited.

Chen Dao made a prompt decision.

"Shoot the horses!"

Although the horses were armored, their defense was still relatively poor.

Although the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry fought desperately to defend, nearly a thousand men still fell.

Cao Cao's heart was dripping with blood; those were his elites!

However, the distance between the two sides had closed.

"Spears!"

Dian Wei shouted, and the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry, using the momentum of their horses, threw the short spears in their hands!

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

The short spears also caused hundreds of casualties to the guard cavalry!

Before the two sides had even engaged in close-quarters combat, they had already suffered losses of men and generals.

Soon, the two elite cavalry units collided instantly.

Zhang Fei and Dian Wei knocked away the surrounding enemy soldiers and fought each other again!

The main army side was also caught in a deadlock!

Sun Ce sent out fifty thousand troops this time, looking at the more than twenty thousand cavalry charging toward them.

"It's Guan Yu and Zhang Liao!"

"Liu Bei wants to use cavalry to crush us!"

Zhou Yu nodded.

"My lord, our army should prioritize steady defense; wait until the enemy's charge loses momentum, then counterattack!"

"Good!"

"Order Cheng Pu and Chen Wu to hold firm at all costs, and use long spears and longbows to consume Liu Bei's cavalry!"

Guan Yu and Zhang Liao faced the long spear and longbow troops without any hesitation.

The horns blared urgently.

The two cavalry forces killed their way over like a whirlwind!

"Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!"

Sun Ce's longbowmen began to fire a rain of arrows at the cavalry!

Guan Yu and Zhang Liao's front-row cavalry also used crossbow bolts to bombard Sun Ce's army!

People on both sides were constantly hit by arrows and fell!

The earth shook, and the two sides grew closer!

Cheng Pu shouted,

"Long spear formation!"

Countless long spears turned the formation into a hedgehog formation!

This was a sharp weapon for dealing with light cavalry.

When the cavalry charged over, even if they weren't injured themselves, their warhorses would be stabbed.

Sun Ce sneered.

"Liu Bei thinks his cavalry is invincible? I want him to return in defeat this time!"

"Boom!"

The shaking of the earth seemed to suddenly increase!

Guan Yu and Zhang Liao led the cavalry to suddenly split into two groups, charging obliquely to both sides!

Zhou Yu looked, his face changing drastically.

"Not good! It's heavy cavalry!"

Sun Ce looked, and between the two groups of cavalry, a heavy cavalry unit of nearly two thousand men charged out!

Black helmets and black armor, armed to the teeth!

Each was a tall horse; not only were they fully armored, but the warhorses were also armored, and everyone held a long spear!

These warhorses were all good horses that Liu Bei had sifted out from hundreds of thousands of horses in Bingzhou, Liangzhou, and even the Western Regions; they were taller than ordinary warhorses and had much stronger load-bearing capacity,

capable of carrying fully armed heavy cavalry!

Let Sun Ce be the first to test the power of this sharp weapon for plains warfare!

The heavy cavalry did not hesitate at all, charging into Sun Ce's long spear formation like a torrent!

Instantly,

the front row of Sun Ce's army collapsed like a mountain; it was almost a rout at the first touch!

They had never encountered such an army; the long spears stabbed at their armor, only sparking!

The torrent of steel crushed Sun Ce's infantry defensive line in the front row!

Once the heavy cavalry came out, it could be said to be invincible!

Sun Ce's long spear troops and shield troops were scattered one after another!

Cheng Pu was a veteran general in the army.

He constantly issued orders, wanting to rely on the infantry's first retreat, second retreat, and third retreat to change the rhythm and dissipate the momentum of the heavy cavalry!

And it was quite effective; the charge of the heavy cavalry stalled, and to charge again, they would have to drive the horses to run for a period of time.

Unfortunately, the heavy cavalry's mission had already been completed!

Guan Yu and Zhang Liao took the opportunity to lead other cavalry like a whirlwind, killing their way into the formation!

Infantry that had lost their formation were simply vulnerable when facing cavalry!

Cheng Pu and Chen Wu fought desperately, but still could not stop the soldiers from collapsing.

It wasn't that the Danyang and Lujiang troops weren't trying hard; it was just that being charged by heavy cavalry and then covered and killed by light cavalry, they simply couldn't block it!

Sun Ce still wanted to join the battle,

but Zhou Yu hurriedly advised,

"My lord, we cannot fight them head-on right now; let someone cover the retreat, and our army will retreat back, relying on the camp, and use powerful crossbows to defend on the camp!"

Sun Ce knew that he couldn't act on impulse right now!

"Let Chen Wu lead the Lujiang elites to cover the retreat!"

"Understood!"

Sun Ce led the main army to retreat toward the camp.

Guan Yu and Zhang Liao chased and killed for a while, but didn't approach the camp, focusing on surrounding the ten thousand or so Lujiang elites led by Chen Wu!

Soon the infantry was divided into several pieces!

Chen Wu fought a few moves with Guan Yu and was knocked off his horse!

"Tie him up!"

Seeing their main general captured and with no hope of escaping back, the Lujiang army threw down their weapons one after another and knelt to surrender!

Guan Yu had Zhang Liao escort these surrendered soldiers back.

He himself led the cavalry to guard one side of Liu Bei's center army, guarding against Sun Ce turning back to kill, and then waiting for an opportunity to act!

On the center army side, the battle was intense!

The Vanguard Camp, elite infantry, heavy shield-bearers, halberdiers, and spearmen were all squeezed together,
