Chapter 533

Both sides withdrew their troops to their camps.

Liu Bei's side was naturally jubilant; with half the number of the opponent, they had actually won a great victory.

Xun You organized the casualties of both sides.

"My lord, the Allied forces suffered over seventy thousand casualties in today's battle; Yuan Shao's chariots were all destroyed, Sun Ce's Lujiang elites were captured by our army, and Sun Ce's army alone lost twenty-five thousand men."

Liu Bei nodded.

"Today, Yunchang and Zhang Wenyuan achieved great merit, breaking Sun Ce's army, allowing our army to occupy the advantage, and subsequently winning a great victory."

Zhang Liao sighed with emotion.

"My lord, this time Sun Ce was originally well-prepared, with spear formations like a forest, but was disrupted by our heavy cavalry."

Guan Yu also cupped his hands.

"Big brother is far-sighted; it was only by winning with surprise in strategy and troop types that we had this great victory; I dare not claim credit."

Liu Bei laughed.

"Merit is merit; I have recorded it for you two!"

He looked at the others.

"Everyone has merit today; after this campaign ends and we return to Chang'an, there will be rewards for everyone."

"Thank you, my lord!"

Liu Bei looked at Xun You again.

"Xun Gongda, what are our army's casualties?"

"My lord, our army suffered over eighteen thousand casualties, most of whom can be treated."

Liu Bei nodded.

"Good, have the army physicians treat them earnestly; I will also go to the wounded camp to see them later."

"Understood!"

Liu Bei said in a deep voice,

"Everyone, although the Allied forces suffered a crushing defeat, they still have two hundred and fifty thousand troops; our army suffered nearly twenty thousand casualties, and the camp has thirteen thousand troops, still far fewer than the Allied forces."

Guo Jia interjected,

"One must know that arrogant troops will surely be defeated; Cao Cao and the others already have new tactics—the Tiger and Leopard Cavalry are equipped with shields and also equipped with javelins, which caused huge casualties to the guard cavalry."

Jia Xu also said,

"Our army's great victory was built on the application of new troop types, catching the opponent off guard; once the Allied forces are prepared in the future, we may not necessarily occupy such a big advantage."

Everyone's hearts tightened; indeed, this was not the time to be happy.

Liu Bei stood up tall.

"After you all return, warn the soldiers in the camp that they must not be arrogant or complacent."

"Understood!"

The live broadcast room's barrage also increased a lot.

"I really didn't expect that the eared thief actually defeated the Allied forces of Yuan Shao, Cao Cao, and Sun Ce!"

"The key is that the eared thief also knows that arrogant troops will be defeated; he didn't get carried away after the great victory, but instead became more cautious; such an enemy is too terrifying!" (US netizen)

"I used to think the eared thief was lucky, but now I really admire him!"

"So strong, and still working so hard, who is he rolling against?"

"What are you being arrogant about? My Allied forces still have two hundred and fifty thousand soldiers, and Tongguan and Wuguan are each being attacked by sixty thousand troops; don't look at the eared thief being arrogant now; if any of these three places fails, he will be completely ruined!" (Dwarf country netizen)

"My Goose country, because Sun Ce seized Jiangdong, got quite a few benefits, but now a contestant has died; so miserable!"

"It's a pity my Ye Huang didn't come, still helping Sun Ce guard his home, otherwise I would definitely make you eared thief look good!"

"Haha, Ye Huang is good-looking, just see if my Brother Bei kills first and then does that, or does that first and then kills!"

"The one above, everyone is discussing fighting a war, what kind of dirty jokes are you making!"

The Allied camp was gloomy.

Everyone didn't expect that combining the strength of three families to fight a decisive battle with Liu Bei would end in a crushing defeat!
