Chapter 203

Lin Yang nodded; this Xuzhoucheng could not be compared to Huaiyincheng!

As the seat of the government, Xuzhoucheng not only had high walls, but there was also a moat outside!

Wanting to cross the moat and go to the gates of Xuzhoucheng was simply extremely difficult!

This was why!

Historically, Boss Cao's great army was blocked before Xuzhoucheng!

The only way Lin Yang could win!

Was to use black gunpowder to blow up the city gates!

Then the great army would drive straight in, head straight for the Provincial Governor's office at the fastest speed, and take Tao Qian!

"My lord, since the troops are insufficient, why not surround three sides and leave one open!"

Guo Jia said, then pointed to the four gates of Xuzhoucheng at this moment!

Finally stopping at the North Gate!

"This gate can be left open!"

The North Gate of Xuzhou was the direction toward Langya Commandery!

It was also the direction toward Kaiyang!

Guo Jia deliberately surrounded three sides and left one open to give Tao Qian and the soldiers in Xuzhoucheng a psychological hint!

Once the city gates were breached!

They still had the North Gate to escape and go to Kaiyang to join Zang Ba's Taishan Army!

Of course!

The most important reason was that Lin Yang's troops were insufficient!

Fifty thousand troops wanting to completely surround Xuzhoucheng was impossible!

"My lord can send ten thousand troops to each of the East and West gates to feign an attack!"

"With General Zilong's Iron Pagoda, Tao Qian will not dare to leave the city!"

Guo Jia and Cheng Yu arranged the troops!

In the entire Xuzhoucheng, there were now thirty thousand soldiers, of which only about fifteen thousand were elite Danyang soldiers!

The remaining fifteen thousand were all troops from Langya and Xiapi commanderies!

A mere thirty thousand people, if they dared to leave the city!

Zhao Yun's Iron Pagoda would make one charge and surround and kill them outside the city!

By then!

Xuzhoucheng would be broken in a snap!

If Tao Qian did not leave the city, dividing the troops into three routes could also disperse Tao Qian's troops in the city, making the other party unable to know what was real and what was fake!

"Hmm, let's follow Fengxiao's plan!"

Nodding, Lin Yang also arranged according to Guo Jia's plan!

In this era of the late Eastern Han Dynasty without firearms!

When besieging a city, the measures that could be taken were only those few!

Divide and surround, surround three sides and leave one open!

The Battle of Xuzhou, what could truly decide the outcome, still depended on his side!

Under the night curtain, in the military camp

"Come, Fengxiao, let me show you this!"

At this moment, Lin Yang took Guo Jia and walked toward a special military camp!

In the camp, inside wooden boxes, there was pitch-black powder!

"My lord, what is this?"

Having been in Lin Yang's army for some time, this was the first time Guo Jia had seen this!

"Didn't Fengxiao ask me before how the earth-shaking in the Battle of Huaiyin was caused?"

Pointing to the black gunpowder before him, now that Guo Jia was his strategist, he naturally had the qualification to know about things like black gunpowder!

"Is it this thing?!"

Hearing that the item that caused the earth-shaking was this, Guo Jia's eyes were filled with shock!

This small pitch-black powder!

Actually had such power?

"Fengxiao, look, these are the finished black gunpowder!"

Cheng Yu on the side carefully pointed to the simple explosive bags made of linen!

These were the simple explosive bags they had made!

Once these things were piled up at the city gates!

The city gates could be completely blown open!

"No wonder the lord has such confidence that he can capture Xuzhoucheng!"

After listening to Cheng Yu's explanation, Guo Jia finally understood!

No wonder Lin Yang had such confidence that he could capture Xuzhoucheng in one battle!

It turned out there was such a divine object!

That's right!

In Guo Jia's view!

This was a divine object!

Being able to cause earth-shaking power, if it wasn't a divine object, what was it!

"Now that Fengxiao knows the power of black gunpowder, I can rest assured about the troop arrangements!"

As his strategist, Guo Jia had to know about things like black gunpowder!

Otherwise, if the other party arranged the troops and missed key factors like black gunpowder!

I fear there would be mistakes!

"May I ask, my lord, is the detonation time of this thing fixed?"

Looking at the simple black gunpowder made, Guo Jia looked as if he had seen a treasure, his eyes shining!

A divine object that could cause large-scale lethality!

With this kind of thing, Guo Jia could even capture Xuzhoucheng at a very small cost!

However!

Before that, he needed to determine the detonation time!

"Uh, detonation time?!"

Hearing Guo Jia mention this, Lin Yang was stunned, then smiled helplessly!

"Fengxiao, the production of this thing is too simple, as for the detonation time, I really can't control it!"

That's right!

Lin Yang was also very helpless!

Even the fuse was made by himself!

He really couldn't control the detonation time!

He could only ensure that after this thing was ignited, without external interference, it would definitely explode!

"Sigh, that's a pity!"

Hearing that it couldn't be controlled, Guo Jia shook his head!

Then he took out an ancient blueprint from his bosom!

"My lord, this is the method for making a catapult. I have already had the soldiers collect most of the materials when we were in Huaiyincheng!"

"Now that we are besieging the city, it can be used!"

Offering the blueprint in his hand, Guo Jia looked at the explosive bag with slight regret!

Actually!

The first time he saw the explosive bag, he wanted to combine the catapult with the explosive bag!

Use the catapult to throw the explosive bag into the city!

Then with just one strike, the soldiers on the walls of Xuzhoucheng would be shaken!

By then!
