Chapter 375

As for Pei Commandery, the thirty thousand troops of Lu Bu originally stationed here had suffered heavy losses in the previous battle.

Lu Bu had even abandoned Pei Commandery and run away.

Therefore, Lin Yang was able to drive straight in.

"Hmm, that's good."

Hearing that three commanderies had fallen into his hands, Lin Yang couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

This time, the resentment from being attacked by Yuan Gonglu and the others had also dissipated.

Having captured three commanderies of Yuzhou, the trouble of Xuzhou being a battleground for all sides was completely gone.

Even if Yuan Gonglu, Cao Mengde, and the others wanted to join forces again.

They would not be able to achieve the same effect as before.

This kind of breakthrough was exactly what Lin Yang wanted.

Defending a city, who doesn't know how to do that?

"Order the army to rest and continue to increase rations."

Having captured the current Dan City, the entire Pei Commandery was now in his hands.

However, having already pursued them this far.

Lin Yang was not satisfied without taking one last bite out of Yuan Gonglu.

Runan Commandery, this was Yuan Gonglu's true foundation.

Yuzhou, Runan Commandery, Sishan County

"Someone, I want to drink water!"

In the county government office, Yuan Gonglu, catching his breath, shouted loudly to the outside!

After a short while, a maid tremblingly brought tea and handed it over!

"Pfft!"

After taking only one sip, Yuan Gonglu spat it out directly!

"What is this? I wanted honey water!"

Cursing, Yuan Gonglu, in his rage, knocked the maid who had entered to the ground!

Just then, Yang Hong walked in hurriedly, his face looking extremely ugly!

"My lord, we need to set off immediately and retreat to Gushi City!"

Yang Hong reported, his tone filled with exhaustion!

"Retreat? Retreat again? Where is my army!"

Roaring in anger, Yuan Gonglu was like a crazed lion at this moment, bellowing mercilessly.

Two hundred thousand troops, his two hundred thousand troops.

Had actually been completely wiped out in just one major battle.

Now, in this county office, the routed soldiers gathered amounted to no more than three thousand.

"Sigh!"

With a sigh, Yang Hong was also quite helpless.

The strategists under Lin Yang were simply too ruthless and too crazy.

Clearly being surrounded by a great army, what they were thinking about was not repelling the enemy, but attacking Yuzhou.

In this battle, the opponent's goal from the very beginning was to swallow the two hundred thousand troops under Yuan Gonglu.

"My lord, retreat."

After Yuan Gonglu finished venting, Yang Hong spoke up again to persuade him.

"Report, my lord, urgent news from Yingchuan Commandery and Chen Commandery: Cao Mengde has led one hundred thousand troops to flank and attack the two commanderies, and both have fallen!"

The soldier outside the door brought the urgent report. Yuan Gonglu's blood immediately rushed to his head.

"Cao Mengde, that villain, actually cut off my retreat."

At this moment, Yuan Gonglu's eyes were filled with rage.

This time, the attack on Xuzhou was proposed by Cao Mengde.

As a result, now Cao Mengde was actually raiding his old nest.

"My lord, retreat quickly, otherwise we are in danger!"

Shouting, Yang Hong could no longer sit still.

If this continued, he feared the destruction of Yuzhou was right before their eyes.

In the various commanderies of Runan, there were still one hundred thousand troops; Yuan Gonglu only needed to return to Gushi City.

Mobilize the sixty thousand troops from Nanyang Commandery to rendezvous, and then, relying on the one hundred and sixty thousand troops and the city walls of Gushi City.

Who could defeat Yuan Gonglu?

"That's right, retreat, I still have an army."

He, Yuan Gonglu, had over three hundred thousand troops; it was just two hundred thousand, he could afford to lose them.

Yuan Gonglu, having come to his senses, led his troops away directly, heading straight for Gushi City.

At the same time, the soldiers under Yuan Gonglu also headed toward the various cities of Runan Commandery.

Just as Yuan Gonglu was defeated, on the other side, in Chen Commandery, Chen County—

"Without Zhicai, I would not have been able to enter this city."

Standing on the city wall of Chen County, Cao Mengde sighed.

This time, he had really made a huge profit.

Not only did he obtain grain and supplies from Lin Yang, overcoming his difficulties.

He had also directly occupied two commanderies of Yuzhou.

You must know, Yuzhou was densely populated; just in one province, there were over eight million people.

The reason Yuan Gonglu had over three hundred thousand troops was because he relied on this huge population.

Cao Mengde, who also occupied a province, did not even have half the population of Yuzhou.

That was why he was suppressed by Yuan Gonglu at every step.

Now he could finally hold his head high.

"My lord, we must seize the opportunity now."

Xi Zhicai glanced at the current situation, his face not showing much of a smile.

Although his plan this time had indeed succeeded.

Allowing Cao Mengde to obtain two commanderies of Yuzhou.

But.

Problems followed.

The only thing that exceeded Xi Zhicai's expectations was that Lin Yang did not end up in a mutual destruction with Yuan Gonglu.

Lin Yang's active attack, with a high casualty ratio, directly swallowed Yuan Gonglu's two hundred thousand troops.

This caused Yuan Gonglu to suffer a major blow to his vitality, unable to effectively block Lin Yang's army in Pei Commandery, Liang Commandery, and Lu Commandery.

"So, we are going to retreat?"

Cao Mengde's brows were tightly furrowed; Lin Yang's advance was so fierce, was Xi Zhicai starting to worry about the situation in Yanzhou?

"No, my lord, we are sending troops here."

Xi Zhicai pointed a finger at a spot on the map.

Looking at the location on the map, Cao Mengde couldn't help but gasp.

Meanwhile, within Lu Commandery—

"Military Advisor, we have already captured Lu Commandery; should we immediately head south and rendezvous with my lord?"

At this moment, in Lu County, Dian Wei, Zhou Tai, and the others all looked at Cheng Yu with conviction.

Without shedding blood, they had directly captured the commandery of Lu.

Cheng Yu seemed to have calculated everything.

"No need, we are sending troops here."

Cheng Yu glanced to the west, a hint of ruthlessness appearing in his eyes.

There is gain only if there is sacrifice.

Taking his Xuzhou grain and supplies, there was a price to pay.

"Ah, this, isn't this Cao Mengde's territory?"
