Chapter 59: Launch Announcement

Launch Announcement

Launch Announcement

After going around in circles, this book has finally been launched. As for me, I don't really know what to say, so let's just have a casual chat.

To be honest, I wonder if you all would believe me if I said I'm a new author.

Alright, just kidding, don't take it seriously. Forget about being a new author; I'm just an old hand.

The vast majority of readers likely got into my work through *Warhammer Throne* (later changed to *Proof of the Sun King* due to copyright reasons). That was indeed the best novel I've written, but true long-time readers should know that my actual first book was called *Poem of Nogizaka*, and the protagonist was also named Uesugi Muneyuki. Later, it was "refined" at lightning speed due to a wave of internet cleaning by 17. I tried hard to get it unblocked many times, but in the end, I was told there was no hope, so I gave up.

*Warhammer* was written during that time. Back then, I was full of indignation and anger because my book had been banned, and I was young and headstrong, having never been beaten down by society. Due to a combination of factors, I played *Total War: Warhammer*, took a liking to the subject matter, and relied on that spite and fury to write *Warhammer*. Although the performance was poor at the beginning, I didn't take it too seriously because I was just writing for fun—it was like finding a hollow tree to scream my grievances into for the readers.

Just as my favorite author, Liudan Pashui (specifically the latter half of *Fu Han* and the early-to-mid stages of *Shao Song*), said, writing a book requires a bit of spite.

Unexpectedly, due to various coincidences, the performance of *Warhammer* was unexpectedly good; it reached "boutique" status before completion and became a super-long work.

After *Warhammer* was finished, influenced by reality and personal experiences, I tried hard to pursue my former self, but in the process, I found I couldn't find that state of mind anymore. *Lord of the End* was a failed attempt at an original work. I thought it would get better as I wrote, like *Warhammer*, but the more I wrote, the worse it got, and the more I grew to dislike it.

The book *Chaos Crown* was successful at the start, and it was quite enjoyable to write initially. As for the problems, I have already mentioned them, so I won't repeat them here.

The terrible pacing in the later stages of *Chaos* and the "draining the pond to catch all the fish" writing state, combined with the fact that I was constantly ill, resulted in garbage that I couldn't even bear to look at myself. However, having promised everyone I would finish it, I managed to force my way to the end in a way that was almost a rushed ending.

After such a long period of poor writing, I found that I didn't want to touch Western fantasy themes at all anymore.

Just at this time, a reader suggested that I pick up my original intention and find the joy I once had in writing.

*Unnatural Forensic Doctor* is actually, to some extent, a continuation of *Poem of Nogizaka*. But times have changed. Back then, when I wrote *Poem of Nogizaka*, I could write whatever I wanted, writing wherever my thoughts took me. It was just a low-end hobby, a place to vent, writing whatever came to mind.

That won't work now.

As everyone knows, the audience for Japanese entertainment is extremely scarce, especially since Shiyuan and Aragaki Yui have aged in recent years; one can barely name a few Japanese actresses here. So, there must be some main plot and content; I hope everyone understands.

Let me answer a few questions for you here.

First, regarding the update schedule: due to the hateful editor's mandatory requirement of at least 6,000 words per day, starting today, I will try my best to provide two updates daily to guarantee 6,000 words. I'm showing my sincerity and attitude. There will be five updates on the first day of the launch. The fifth update will not affect the next day's schedule; there will still be a chapter in the evening. Then, starting from the third day, there will be two updates daily, with one day (possibly two) of rest each month to adjust the plot.

The author has worked very hard!

Next, many people are saying that the protagonist's personality is problematic—that he is too blunt and rigid, making him unlikable, yet he is relatively slick on some issues.

I can explain this: the protagonist's personality naturally has its causes. On one hand, because of his identity as a transmigrator, he always feels that the things around him have a layer of false meaning. On the other hand, it is related to the source of his abilities. To some extent, Uesugi Muneyuki's personality is a reflection of the personality I aspire to have. I really like this kind of protagonist.

As for being slick, the reason is also simple: Uesugi is not that kind of stubborn ox. He is tough and direct to achieve his goals, not because he actually wants to get himself killed or end up battered and bruised. The premise of doing things is to know how to protect oneself, not to throw one's life away.

Furthermore, readers have also reacted by saying the protagonist is a bit of a "simp" toward female characters.

As for that, it is indeed a bit low-postured, but I have clearly stated the reasons. Ikeda is someone Uesugi hopes to learn martial arts from, and he also hopes Ikeda won't explode and blow up his card library. Shiraishi is a senior he has always admired; it's normal to have a halo filter. Moreover, with the senior taking the initiative to acknowledge and show favor to you, it is very easy to develop feelings under the blessing of such a pure campus relationship.

I hope everyone won't be swayed by extreme opposition. Interpersonal relationships in daily life are not 0 or 100, especially between men and women. If you are truly in a relationship, you will, more or less, have to make some mutual concessions. An ambiguous relationship is not a life-or-death war. Uesugi himself is definitely not someone who kneels to women, but depending on the need, he will sometimes show some goodwill. I think this is very normal. If people want to communicate seriously, they all need to appropriately release some goodwill.

Some readers also reacted that it's all about solving cases and it's boring.

Regarding the case-solving plot, there will be more in the early stages. Once the story reaches the middle, case-solving will continue to exist as the main thread and career, but other elements will be added, such as harem conflicts, the Inner World, and traveling around with girls. But it won't happen that quickly; let's lay a solid foundation in the early stages before talking about these. The girls also need to be introduced one by one, and feelings need to develop and come to fruition naturally.

Finally, the issue of extra updates that readers care about most.

As everyone knows, the author has always been slow-handed, and now I am being forced by the vicious editor to provide two updates of 6,000 words a day, so extra updates will be very difficult, but I will still try my best.

Because I cannot guarantee this for the time being, and I would be "slaughtered" if I bragged or made promises I couldn't keep, I will set a higher standard first, and then adjust it based on my physical condition, writing ideas, and the smoothness of my typing. Please forgive me.

One: If someone becomes a League Patron, add two updates.

Two: After reaching 1,000 monthly tickets, add one update for every additional 1,000.

Three: If the TES team (only if the one and only brother JackeyLove is on the team and playing in the match) wins the LPL championship, add one update; if they win the MSI championship, add two updates; if they win the World Championship (S-series), add three updates!

That is all!

The author thanks everyone here!
