Chapter 229: Clues to the Artifact
Sun Cheng widened his eyes, his face full of disbelief as he looked at the metal plate in his hands.
No matter how much he let his imagination run wild, having considered countless possibilities, he never would have thought that his sudden, whimsical trip to Lop Nur to search for stones would actually yield such an unexpected harvest.
"Beast General? The Thirteen Primes? It seems this might be a forgotten piece of Cybertronian history..."
With a strange gleam in his eyes, Sun Cheng watched quietly as the mechanical warrior who called himself the 'Beast General' continued to tell his story through the audio recording left on the metal plate.
There was not a hint of impatience on his face; in fact, there was even some irrepressible excitement.
Since transmigrating to this incredible world of Transformers, Cybertron—the miraculous planet that birthed the magical race of mechanical life—had long since left an indelible mark on his mind.
Sun Cheng had even once had the thought that one day in the future, when he possessed a powerful body capable of traversing the galaxy like a Leader, he would personally travel to the planet Cybertron to see that mysterious and peculiar world.
Therefore, he was very interested in learning about a certain piece of history from the ancient past of Cybertron, especially one that might be a lost, forgotten history.
Moreover, it contained a wealth of valuable information that interested him.
"Quintessons? These must be the invaders from ancient legends who invaded and enslaved Cybertron before the Ancient Council... As for the Thirteen Primes, this is the first time I've heard this new term... Prima, Megatronus, Solus Prime, Maxim; four of the known Thirteen Primes have appeared, I wonder who the other nine might be... And the Requiem Blaster, that must be an extraordinary weapon as well..."
His mind raced, analyzing the audio recording left behind by the Beast General.
At the same time, the Beast General projected from the metal plate continued to speak to himself.
"... We pursued Maxim all the way, searching for a suitable star to replenish the energy of the AllSpark..."
"However, no one noticed that Maxim's conspiracy had never ceased..."
"... Under his deliberate guidance, we crossed the galaxy and arrived in this remote star system..."
"Just as Maxim had anticipated, Megatronus chose the Sun; he attempted to destroy this young star, using its vast energy to once again trigger the Awakening of Solus Prime's Spark, bringing her back from eternal sleep..."
"... The other six Primes refused Megatronus's request, because they discovered that on a planet next to this young star, life had already begun to gestate."
"Intense guilt and longing finally broke Megatronus, turning him into a monster willing to fall into darkness. After being refused the Matrix of Leadership again, he wounded the Thirteen Primes and took the Matrix of Leadership, stubbornly still wanting to destroy the star..."
"Thus, the new War of the Primes broke out!"
"Alchemist Prime was the first to be defeated, Nexus Prime had his right leg shattered, and Quintus Prime also lost his arms..."
"As one of the most powerful Warriors among the Primes, Megatronus's martial prowess quickly made the Primes realize they had to unite."
"Thus, in the War of Union, the Thirteen Primes fought to the death to severely wound Megatronus, and Micronus Prime seized the opportunity to steal the Matrix of Leadership, but while attempting to escape, he encountered Megatronus..."
"Lord Prima used the Vector Prime to see the outcome of his own death, so he volunteered to stay behind to hold off Megatronus, while we began to evacuate under the leadership of the other Primes..."
"... During the evacuation, we were unexpectedly attacked by a group of terrifying Mechanical Monsters. Damn it, these monsters created by Maxim had actually come to Earth as well."
"In the fierce battle, we sacrificed many Warriors, several Primes went missing, and after being severely wounded, I had to flee into a Canyon and fell into a long slumber..."
"When I woke up again, time had passed; Earth was still that same planet, with fewer animals, but a bit more of the scent of civilization... But I searched every corner of the world and still could not find any traces of my kin..."
"The long search caused my energy to gradually run dry... My body began to rust and decay, and my surface armor disintegrated and fell off... I know this is a sign that my life is coming to an end..."
"I found some Cybertronian text on Earth, much of it from Explorers like me; in order to prevent the Matrix of Leadership from being found by Megatronus, the Primes have already voluntarily sacrificed themselves to seal it within their own Tomb of the Primes... I think I may never be able to return to Cybertron..."
"The chaos has already affected my memory... Recently, I have begun to forget more and more things..."
"There is not much time left for me; I must preserve what I can still remember before returning to the AllSpark..."
"Megatronus referenced the Requiem Blaster to create a weapon capable of destroying a star; it is hidden on this planet at the place closest to the stars..."
"During my long journey, I encountered some evil and bellicose mechanical life; they serve an evil life form who calls himself 'The Fallen', and they are also searching for the Matrix of Leadership... Unfortunately, my wisdom is no longer sufficient to distinguish whether he is Megatronus or Maxim..."
"... How ironic, in my final journey, I found something that even the Primes dreamed of... Unfortunately, it is useless to me now; let it continue to slumber here..."
"Even standing and walking have become very difficult; it seems my life has finally reached its final moment..."
"Perhaps today, I will embark on the journey of return. Before my soul returns to the AllSpark, I have preserved these memories using the Memory Plate..."
"Future generations, when you crack my settings and see this, I hope you possess a heart not swayed by power and not eroded by greed... If you still possess wisdom and courage, please shoulder my unfinished mission: protect the Tomb of the Primes from violation, and protect the Matrix of Leadership from falling into the hands of the wicked..."
"Long live Cybertron!"
"The feeling of going home is truly good..."
PS:
1. Thanks to readers 'Bu Gan Zhi Xin' and 'Hang Ma Zui You Ai Le' for their generous tips and support.
2. There are simply too many discrepancies between the movie version and the official Transformers settings; the plot of the BUG evidence has also slapped the Covenant of Primus in the face countless times, and the official settings are actually full of bugs. Therefore, this book will not completely refer to the official settings; I ask that readers who are sticklers for detail please do not take it too seriously.
