Chapter 27: Target, Aircraft Graveyard
Sun Cheng arrived at a very opportune moment; just as he walked into the Incubation Room, he immediately saw three massive Decepticon Warriors gathered together. Among them, besides Starscream and Barricade whom he recognized, there was also an earth-yellow Decepticon Warrior he did not know.
As soon as he saw him walk in, Starscream's gaze flickered for a moment before he turned his head away and asked, "Has your energy been fully replenished?"
"Yes, Lord Starscream!"
Sun Cheng replied respectfully, "I have come to report to you that I have just received a long-range communication from Laserbeak; he has already arrived on Earth!"
"Commander, is this guy Frenzy of the Cassette Corps?"
The earth-yellow Decepticon interrupted his report with interest, looking down at Sun Cheng, who was not even as tall as his knees; it was not hard to hear the excitement in his buzzing voice.
"Soundwave only just resurrected him at the Moon Base not long ago..." Starscream replied coldly. Seeing that Sun Cheng was looking at the earth-yellow Decepticon and clearly did not recognize who he was, he added by way of introduction: "This is Bonecrusher. You might not know him, because he left Cybertron thousands of years ago and has been searching for the AllSpark ever since."
"That is thanks to the Commander discovering me in time and replenishing my energy; otherwise, I might have truly remained in deep sleep until my Core completely withered away!" Bonecrusher's tone was somewhat dejected. "It is a pity for my companions. Back then, Lord Megatron ordered the seven of us to set out to find the AllSpark. Now, I am the only one who has luckily survived!"
Sun Cheng suddenly realized why he had found it strange earlier that this guy, who at a glance was clearly at least a high-level Decepticon Warrior, had some faint rust spots on his chassis. Those were physical signs that only appeared on Decepticons whose energy had been so severely depleted that their chassis maintenance functions were forced to shut down, entering a period of senescence.
Knowing that the other party was a Decepticon Warrior who had been sent away from Cybertron thousands of years ago, Sun Cheng was no longer surprised that he, having taken over all of Frenzy's memories, did not recognize him.
The AllSpark is the supreme holy relic of the planet Cybertron. Even Frenzy did not know much about its origins, only that the AllSpark not only possessed terrifying energy of unimaginable power, but it could also provide Mechanical Life with the Life Force that allowed them to evolve to a higher level.
Clearly, the AllSpark possessed the ability to influence the sovereignty of the planet Cybertron.
Therefore, at the beginning of the Cybertronian Civil War, the Decepticon Legion and their mortal enemies—the Autobots—waged one fierce battle after another over the AllSpark.
Finally, after a certain battle, the AllSpark completely disappeared along with a warship that had just taken off.
Since then, both the Decepticon Legion and their mortal enemies—the Autobots—had sent countless warriors to every corner of the universe to search for it. The vast majority of these dispatched warriors had left in secret, so it was no wonder Frenzy did not know Bonecrusher.
To Sun Cheng's surprise, Starscream quickly dismissed Bonecrusher from the Incubation Room. After he had walked far away, he looked at Sun Cheng again and asked, "Did Laserbeak come alone?"
"If nothing goes wrong, yes. Soundwave left Cybertron in a hurry; he did not bring anyone else besides Laserbeak!"
Red light flickered in Starscream's eyes for a while before he asked again: "What was the content of the communication?"
Sun Cheng did not hide it and sent the full content to Starscream, which made him nod in satisfaction.
Starscream read it very quickly, but after finishing, he frowned and said: "Do not reply to him for now; wait for my next order."
"Yes!" Sun Cheng responded and then stood honestly to the side without speaking.
Starscream looked at him but ignored him further, turning instead to look at Barricade. "How are the preparations on Onslaught's side?"
"The situation is not optimistic. The human defensive forces are somewhat unexpected. Onslaught has already complained to me three times. If you, Lord Starscream, do not take action personally, the probability of us getting it relying only on the two of us is less than fifty percent. So his recent preparations have been very passive, and he even has thoughts of leaving!" Barricade replied.
"I cannot take action!" Starscream shook his head, frowned, and said: "I have already awakened Bonecrusher. I did not intend to awaken him so early, but I will convince him to go with you!"
"Planes, the key is the human planes!"
Even after receiving Starscream's assurance, Barricade's voice remained very irritable. "None of us are Triple Changers. Except for Onslaught, who has anti-air capabilities, none of us possess them. They have deployed too many human planes there; once they take off, it will be very disadvantageous for us."
This cryptic conversation left Sun Cheng feeling quite confused.
Combining the context, he roughly understood that something Starscream wanted was in a certain human military base. The defense there was so tight that even Onslaught, a Decepticon Warrior he had sent over early, thought the Task was difficult to complete.
Hearing this, Sun Cheng finally understood why Starscream needed him.
He immediately took the initiative and said: "Lord Starscream, Lord Barricade, if you are wary of human planes, why not let me infiltrate first before the Task begins? I can paralyze the planes' onboard electronic equipment so they cannot take off!"
"It's not that simple!"
Barricade turned back to look at him and frowned. He looked at Starscream, and seeing that he had no instructions, he explained to Sun Cheng: "What we are wary of is not just the planes at the human base we are going to invade. With the three of us—myself, Onslaught, and Bonecrusher—joining forces, we should be able to destroy them in the shortest possible time. But there is another base nearby. Once a fight breaks out, the other side could potentially dispatch planes to arrive in at most ten minutes, which is very disadvantageous for our operation!"
"Then why not split the forces?"
Sun Cheng was stunned. Such a simple matter was actually causing these Decepticons to struggle.
"Split the forces?" Barricade was taken aback, then shook his head and said: "After splitting the forces, it will be very difficult for us to destroy that base in the shortest possible time!"
Perhaps intrigued by his hesitant manner, Starscream also looked at Sun Cheng, the red light in his eyes intensifying. "You have a solution? Let's hear it..."
"Yes, Lord Starscream!"
Sun Cheng had been waiting for these words, so as soon as Starscream spoke, he explained with confidence: "My plan is still to split the forces. Send one of either Lord Barricade or Lord Bonecrusher to the other base to create a diversion. All he needs to do is cause a scene, destroy all the planes at that base in the shortest possible time, eliminate its support capability, and attract all potential reinforcements from other nearby bases to that location, then leave after completing the distraction."
"As for the other side, I will infiltrate the base first, striving to paralyze the base's communication devices and electronic equipment the moment the operation begins, and help Lord Onslaught and the others destroy as much air power as possible. This way, I think with our configuration, it should not be difficult to complete the Task!"
Barricade pondered it carefully, his eyes lighting up, and he quickly nodded in agreement. "This plan is feasible; it's much more reliable than Onslaught's plan!"
"Very well, Barricade, contact Onslaught first to relay the plan to him, and wait until nightfall to send Frenzy to that graveyard first." Even Starscream could not help but look at him deeply for a long while before a smile finally appeared on his face. "Little one, my previous promise remains valid. Help me get that thing, and I will reward you with a Spark. Work for me diligently, and it won't be long before the 'Frenzy' we are familiar with will return!"
