Chapter 463: Return to Severodvinsk

~7 min read 1,322 words

Stepping into Severodvinsk in June, it had finally shaken off the cold spring unique to the Arctic Circle, and one could finally feel a hint of the southern spring.

However, none of this had anything to do with Scrapper; his temper had grown increasingly volatile lately, and he kicked an industrial robot that was moving parts over ten meters away, snorted coldly, and lifted his foot to continue walking toward the warehouse area.

"... It seems this place has been abandoned..."

The red light in his eyes flickered constantly, and Scrapper felt the desire for slaughter, which had been dormant in his chest for a long time, rapidly awakening.

This was already the twenty-ninth day since that guy Frenzy had left, and also the twenty-ninth day he had helped Frenzy cover it up.

Initially arranged by his master Starscream to be by Frenzy's side, although the order Scrapper received was not to report on Frenzy's situation to his master every single day, keeping a constant watch on Frenzy's every move was one of Starscream's requirements.

But now, Frenzy had already left Severodvinsk and disappeared from his field of vision for twenty-nine days.

Over the past nearly a month, for certain reasons, although Scrapper was extremely annoyed, he still concealed the news of Frenzy leaving Severodvinsk.

Not only that, he even helped the other party clean up their mess.

That incident in the Far East which led to the disappearance of two Decepticons successfully caught Starscream's attention.

Scrapper was not sure if his master suspected Frenzy, but Starscream did secretly contact him shortly after those two Decepticons went missing to ask if it was Frenzy's doing, and he subconsciously brushed it off.

At the thought of this, Scrapper could not help but feel lingering fear.

Although he had received quite a few benefits from Frenzy during this time, it was not enough to make him dare to betray Starscream.

Scrapper knew very well just how powerful the master who had cultivated him was.

It was just that recently, sporadic memory fragments would pop up in his head, making him vaguely perceive some secrets hidden within himself, which led to his initiative to help Frenzy brush off Starscream.

After all, Decepticons were not without strategy or schemes; once they started calculating, with the technological level of the Cybertronian civilization far exceeding that of Earth, humans would truly have no chance of survival.

Frenzy was still of great use to Scrapper; in the few months of contact, he had gained many benefits from the other party and could also see Frenzy's attempts to win him over through the other party's unconcealed behavior.

However, the strength the other party displayed was still quite a distance from his own master Starscream, at least as far as he knew.

So unless the other party could produce benefits that moved him, Scrapper would at most only help Frenzy cover things up temporarily.

By now, here in Severodvinsk, it had reached the point where it could no longer be hidden.

"Frenzy, that guy, what exactly did he do... how could he attract the attention of The Fallen... Damn it, Soundwave should be arriving soon..."

Scrapper was not in a good state now; he did not know how to plug this hole.

Having received many benefits from Frenzy before, plus a period of contact, Scrapper had somewhat grasped the other party's personality; in his view, since Frenzy had spent so much effort here in Severodvinsk and had finally established a fairly harmonious cooperative relationship with the human nation, allowing him to continuously obtain various scarce resources needed for development from humans, he could not possibly give this place up easily, which was why he had cautiously helped him provide cover.

But who would have thought that just two days ago, when reporting to Starscream, he had lied that the other party was still staying in a laboratory he had built in Severodvinsk, helping humans modify weapons.

Who would have thought that just now, Starscream had suddenly taken the initiative to contact him, asking in a very intriguing tone what Frenzy had been doing lately.

This really scared Scrapper to the point where his Core felt like it was about to crash; the scattered memories that had started popping up in his head recently gave him a much greater understanding of Starscream's sinister and cunning nature.

He vaguely felt that his master might have already started to suspect Frenzy's whereabouts.

This matter probably could not be hidden, and there was no way to continue hiding it!

"... Soundwave will be arriving at your location soon, he and Frenzy are old friends... if anything happens then, just stay on the side and protect yourself!"

This was what Starscream left behind when he contacted him just now, which made Scrapper unable to sit still any longer.

He knew who Soundwave was, and from the sporadic intelligence that Starscream occasionally let slip, he had roughly grasped the news that Frenzy and Soundwave were not on good terms, and might even be mutually hostile.

An opponent of Frenzy was coming to Severodvinsk; the meaning could not be more obvious.

Frenzy was in danger!

Severodvinsk was also in danger!

Scrapper did not know what Frenzy had done during the time he disappeared to cause Starscream, who had already reached a certain tacit understanding with him, to have such a 180-degree turn in attitude.

Unfortunately, even if he racked his brains, he could not contact Frenzy.

In other words, this quiet life he had even become accustomed to was likely coming to an end.

"Bang!"

Without ceremony, he kicked open the door of a warehouse in the naval port and walked in with a gloomy face.

As soon as he entered, he saw a peculiar Decepticon who claimed to be an Engineer staying in the warehouse, directing dozens of densely packed industrial robots as they continuously moved and welded various machine parts.

Perhaps startled by the sound of him kicking the door, the Engineer turned and looked at him, his face immediately filled with smiles as he came up to greet him: "Lord Scrapper, are you here again to ask when the master will return?"

That fawning smile, however, made Scrapper feel an inexplicable surge of irritation; he did not speak, walked to his side with an expressionless face, and then kicked out fiercely, sending the Decepticon Engineer flying dozens of meters away, crashing heavily into a pile of debris filled with various metal ingots and other materials on one side of the warehouse, emitting a clattering, noisy sound.

He snorted coldly, his tone icy: "Stop playing dumb with me, you lowly crawler... Lord Starscream has no more patience; this place will soon turn into a sea of fire, and you will all be dismantled into a pile of parts... If you want to blame someone, blame your master!"

Scrapper had already thought it through: if Starscream really discovered that Frenzy had run away, he would just find an excuse and say that he too had been deceived by the treacherous Frenzy.

At worst, he would just be punished by his master, but his life would be saved in the end.

Anyway, he had to sever his relationship with Frenzy as soon as possible now, otherwise, it would be truly terrible if Soundwave arrived later.

Thinking of this, his face became even colder.

Seeing that the Decepticon Engineer who had just been kicked away by him was climbing back up, Scrapper still did not feel satisfied and was just about to go up and torture him some more.

But he did not expect the other party to have already walked over on his own, the fawning smile on his face still unchanged.

"Look at what you're saying, Lord Scrapper. I have already reported the matters here in Severodvinsk to the master just now... You can rest assured, no one can touch this place... because the master is about to return!"
