Chapter 464: vs Soundwave (Part 1)
"What did you say? Frenzy is coming back?"
The words of the strange Decepticon before him made Scrapper feel a flicker of joy in his heart, followed immediately by a flustered follow-up question.
After receiving a definitive answer from the other party, his mood became even more chaotic.
Scrapper had only just heard from his master, Starscream, that Soundwave would be arriving soon to investigate some matters regarding Frenzy.
Based on what he knew of the relationship between the two, a fierce battle would surely break out in Severodvinsk before long.
Scrapper had seen Frenzy in action; his combat power might not be on par with Starscream, but he was far from being comparable to the mass-produced Cannon Fodder Decepticon Warriors like them.
As for Soundwave, he was an even more notorious veteran Commander of the Decepticon Legion.
Rumor had it their relationship was terrible; once they met, it would likely be like a thunderstorm hitting a wildfire, and a peaceful resolution was highly unlikely.
"This city is finished!"
In an instant, a realization dawned on Scrapper, but he also felt a genuine sense of relief.
Since Frenzy was coming back soon, then even if the sky fell, he would be the one standing at the front to hold it up.
Besides, Scrapper had already made up his mind: if the situation truly endangered his life, he would run without hesitation; after all, Starscream hadn't given him a death order to stay here.
Recently, his mind had been flooded with dark history regarding Starscream, causing Scrapper to harbor secret resentment toward the master who had personally cultivated him and whom he had once been willing to sacrifice himself for.
He didn't need Frenzy to win him over; he was already prepared to stop risking his life for Starscream.
Time would not stand still because of Scrapper's worries, and soon he would no longer need to fret over this matter.
Sun Cheng had returned, much faster than he had anticipated.
Just a few hours after he met with the Decepticon Engineer who had been stationed at the Severodvinsk naval base, accompanied by several heavy thuds of objects hitting the ground.
Scrapper, who was anxiously waiting in a Warehouse that belonged solely to him within the naval base, suddenly felt a jolt in his heart; he had suddenly detected several startling electromagnetic spectra within the naval base.
Without a doubt, powerful Decepticons had arrived in Severodvinsk, and there was more than one.
Because the other party made no effort to conceal their electromagnetic spectra, the familiar frequencies immediately allowed him to identify the identity of one of them.
Frenzy!
However, the other two left Scrapper feeling somewhat confused.
The electromagnetic frequency of one of the Decepticons gave him a sense of familiarity; he seemed to have recorded this Decepticon's frequency before.
Digging this Memory Data out from a corner of his memory was not a difficult task for a Mechanical Lifeform like a Decepticon; almost as soon as the thought popped into his mind, Scrapper locked onto the target.
But after reviewing this Memory Data several times, his confusion only grew deeper.
In his memory, the owner of that spectrum was named Pioneer, an insignificant Decepticon under Frenzy's command, whom he considered not even worthy of being called Cannon Fodder.
Scrapper had briefly clashed with him during his first invasion of Severodvinsk.
He remembered very clearly that if it weren't for the fact that most of their energy was tied up by the human military at the time, combined with Frenzy's timely arrival to provide support, the other party would never have had the chance to survive.
But...
How much time had passed since then?
How could that little piece of Cannon Fodder, whom he hadn't even bothered to look at during their first meeting, have become so powerful today?
The more powerful a Mechanical Lifeform is, the better they are at hiding their electromagnetic spectrum.
Of course, this only applied to some schemers.
The vast majority of Mechanical Lifeforms, whether they were Decepticons or Autobots, preferred to reveal their powerful electromagnetic spectra—be it chaotic, peaceful, or tyrannical—without reservation to deter their opponents: "Don't mess with me!"
The electromagnetic spectrum revealed by the target suspected to be Pioneer felt familiar to Scrapper, yet it also carried a sense of strangeness, because it was so powerful and so calm, as if he were facing a formidable Warrior who could take his life at any moment, making him feel exceptionally uncomfortable.
What made him even more uneasy was the other strange Decepticon Warrior who had returned to Severodvinsk with Frenzy and Pioneer.
The electromagnetic spectrum he emitted was violent, cold, and chaotic; this was undoubtedly also a Decepticon, and a very powerful one at that.
With that kind of presence, Scrapper even felt that the other party was not much worse than Frenzy, and his strength was definitely far above his own.
He didn't know who the other party was, but being able to appear with Frenzy and the others, their allegiance was already obvious.
"Where did Frenzy find such a powerful Warrior?"
Scrapper hurriedly walked out of the Warehouse, his mind full of questions, but the unease and irritability regarding the future in his heart began to vanish.
He knew his master, Starscream, too well; as a qualified schemer, Starscream was constantly fantasizing about seizing the supreme rule of the Decepticon Legion, which made him not get along with most of the high-level Commanders within the legion, including Shockwave, Soundwave, and so on.
His master could pull strings behind the scenes to test Frenzy's strength or for other reasons, prompting a battle between Frenzy and the incoming Soundwave.
But as insidious as Starscream was, it was even more likely that after seeing Frenzy's true strength and value, his attitude would undergo a 180-degree turn.
Just as he stepped out of the Warehouse, Scrapper immediately felt that he had been locked onto.
The naval base in Severodvinsk was not small; ever since it was designated as the base for communication and cooperation between this country and the extraterrestrial visitors, Moscow had considered abandoning this naval base.
Later, the unsuccessful invasion by the Autobots and the Americans made them finally make up their minds.
The Russian Navy Nuclear submarine originally stationed here had already been evacuated to other naval bases in Russia.
The Polar Bear even handed over the largest nuclear submarine manufacturing plant in the country, which was located within the naval base, to Sun Cheng and his group.
Of course, the Russians appeared simple and honest, but in reality, their hearts were blacker and more ruthless than anyone else's.
With the various advanced machine tools and equipment provided by Sun Cheng, they had actually long had the idea of rebuilding a more advanced and modern shipyard using the equipment that the former Soviet Union had painstakingly obtained from Japan and Sweden before the 1980s.
However, it was always the Polar Bear taking advantage of others; they were ruthless and black-hearted and never believed in the idea that "suffering is a blessing."
Even though they had long had the idea of cordoning off the entire Severodvinsk for Sun Cheng and his group to move in, in the end, by transferring the shipyard to them as a factory, the Russians sold it for a good price, and later, when they packaged the entire naval base, they squeezed quite a few things out of Sun Cheng's hands.
Considering the need for the Polar Bear to stand up and continue to confront the Americans, Sun Cheng also acted generously enough.
Anyway, he had already received intelligence that this big Polar Bear, which had been fed until it was a bit over-nourished over the past year, had already begun its third round of military simulations.
If nothing unexpected happened, they would be able to complete their military mobilization in at most two months.
Over in the Caucasus, the Polar Bear could no longer resist the urge to arm-wrestle with Georgia, or rather, with NATO, which stood behind it.
