Chapter 565: The Darkest Hour
"Master..."
"Master..."
Pioneer watched Sun Cheng, who was pacing back and forth in front of him in agitation, and asked with confusion, "What is the matter with you?"
"I don't know!"
Sun Cheng answered irritably; he truly did not know what was wrong with himself.
Ever since he left Soli and arrived at another secret base Pioneer had built within Africa, his mood had begun to grow restless for no reason.
In the dark, it was as if a voice was constantly reminding him that he had forgotten or overlooked something, but Sun Cheng simply could not recall it.
In the past, he had never believed in the concept of a sixth sense.
However, as he experienced more, Sun Cheng had now begun to believe in the idea of crisis premonition.
A human's brain saves every piece of information seen by the eyes, heard by the ears, smelled by the nose, tasted by the mouth, and even touched by the body, without missing a single detail.
Among this massive amount of information, only a tiny fraction is processed by the brain as useful information, while more is ignored; Mechanical Life is no exception.
This wondrous crisis premonition had already saved Sun Cheng's life several times before and had helped him avoid quite a few losses.
Therefore, when this uneasy warning affected him again, he exerted the full computing power of the Frenzy Body and began to run simulations.
Sun Cheng believed that he must have overlooked something, and it was something of vital importance.
Sure enough, under the condition of activating all computing power for simulation, he quickly realized where the problem lay.
"The Fallen... That's right, The Fallen has been awake for such a long time, why has there been no movement at all!"
Utilizing the full computing power of the Frenzy Body, Sun Cheng re-filtered all the information he had collected since returning to the Transformers Universe, and he finally discovered the reason why he had suddenly felt uneasy.
The Fallen, Megatron's teacher, one of the legendary Thirteen Primes.
According to the intelligence Sun Cheng obtained from Scrapper, over half a year ago, Starscream seemed to have used the nuclear bomb they had stolen from the United States military to blow up the resting place of The Fallen on the Moon, which was how this Prime was awakened.
Since then, The Fallen had not left the Moon even once.
From the intelligence revealed by Scrapper, Sun Cheng already knew that The Fallen seemed to have been severely wounded in a fierce battle in ancient times and had been recuperating on the Moon inside a ship belonging to the Decepticon Legion.
It was precisely because of this point that his later neglect occurred.
"I am truly damned... Over half a year... It has been over half a year... I should have thought of it sooner... His injuries could not have remained unchanged the whole time..."
Thinking that over half a year had passed in a flash, and that the injury of The Fallen, whom he had neglected, should have recovered by now, Sun Cheng was almost annoyed to death.
The Fallen, a guy he did not know much about, but who was definitely more difficult to deal with than Megatron.
Sun Cheng had recently been single-mindedly focused on targeting Megatron and the Decepticon Legion, yet he had forgotten about this Prime Decepticon.
Just thinking about the possibility that this guy had recovered made him shudder.
"No, I must prepare for the worst!"
The Autobots could no longer be relied upon much; with the current total number of Autobots on Earth, maintaining two battles in the Mariana Trench and Egypt simultaneously was likely already a stretch.
Thinking of this, Sun Cheng had to force himself to calm down, while ordering Pioneer, who had been waiting on the side for a long time: "Pioneer, notify them immediately. Tell Thunder and Scrapper at Severodvinsk to get ready..."
North Port had long been exposed; Starscream knew of it, and Soundwave had also discovered North Port.
Before long, there was a high probability that Severodvinsk would attract an attack because of this.
Although Sun Cheng had long been mentally prepared, and a complete set of defensive systems had been designed for Severodvinsk.
But I fear the coming attack will be far more severe than he imagined; a little more preparation would not be excessive at all.
Pioneer paused upon hearing this, but still took the order to go and notify Severodvinsk.
Having walked only two steps, Sun Cheng called him back again, "Wait a moment, also notify Base No. 2, as well as Russia and the Far East..."
His ominous premonition was extremely strong, even giving Sun Cheng a feeling that a great disaster was imminent.
After Pioneer received the order, he left directly.
And Sun Cheng soon discovered that his premonition was not wrong.
Almost just two days later, a dense meteor shower began to fall on Earth.
One 'meteorite' after another, in neat formation, fell from outside the Earth toward this planet.
New York, Paris, Moscow, Beidu, London—the most important cities in the five major powers of the United Nations all had 'meteors' falling upon them.
The sudden attack by the Decepticon Legion caught all human nations on Earth, including the Autobots and Sun Cheng, off guard.
Among them, the one that suffered the most devastating blow was, without a doubt, the United States.
"Humans of Earth, listen well... Your rulers have hidden the truth... You are not the only life in the universe..."
Sun Cheng stood quietly in a desert, capturing the broadcast radio waves drifting in the sky, and a low, mechanical voice full of vicissitudes rang out in his mind.
"Our civilization is far superior to yours... We do not intend to hide any longer... As you can see, we can easily destroy your cities and armies..."
"Unless you hand over this boy... otherwise, we will destroy the entire Earth..."
In his mind, the image of a ferocious mechanical giant whose body far exceeded Optimus Prime and Megatron appeared in Sun Cheng's mind from time to time along with the broadcast radio waves.
"Is this The Fallen..."
Sun Cheng muttered with some unease; he was still waiting for intelligence gathered from various places.
More than two hours ago, the Decepticons turned into meteorites and were launched from the Moon to Earth.
Falling like Missiles, they attacked the most important cities within the five most powerful nations on Earth, causing casualties on the scale of hundreds.
Besides this, a United States aircraft carrier fleet patrolling in the North Atlantic was also attacked by Decepticons descending from the sky, and the entire fleet lost contact.
Judging from the scale of the 'meteors' that landed, I fear at least a hundred Decepticons have come to Earth along with The Fallen.
At this scale, currently on Earth, only the Autobots and the two nuclear powers, the United States and Russia, have the qualifications to rise up and resist in terms of comprehensive military power.
For the remaining nations and forces, including Sun Cheng himself, the price required to eliminate these Decepticons would be extremely heavy.
Earth, perhaps, has ushered in its darkest hour.
