"Legends regarding the thirteen original ancestors of Cybertron have been circulating on the planet Cybertron since a very, very long time ago!"
"There are two theories about them that are most widely spread..."
"One theory is that the thirteen original ancestors were the first life forms born along with the planet Cybertron... They possessed powerful creative abilities and are the creators of the Autobots and the Decepticons..."
"But in another theory, although the thirteen original ancestors were the first life forms born along with the planet Cybertron, they were sentient beings created by an even greater existence..."
Somewhere in Africa, Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Drift, Sam, and Mikaela were sitting inside a ruin in the desert, chatting about the ancient legends of Cybertron.
It was currently midday, and the scorching sun was high in the sky; although the Autobots did not fear this level of heat, humans clearly could not withstand it.
Sam and Mikaela were drinking water that Bumblebee had managed to get from who knows how many kilometers away, and both of them looked significantly more listless than they had a few days ago.
"Is The Fallen also one of the thirteen original ancestors?"
Sam asked; he had just finished a large bottle of water, but his skin still looked a deep, sunburnt red.
Optimus Prime hesitated for a moment before nodding, "He should be!"
Regarding the legends of the thirteen original ancestors, because that period of history was too long ago, there are not many Cybertronians left who still know about it.
During the era of the Council of Ancients, amidst the political infighting between the nobility and the Prime Dynasty, much of the history concerning the ancient period of the planet Cybertron was artificially tampered with by politicians for their own interests.
His teacher—Sentinel Prime—might have known some deeds about the thirteen original ancestors; Optimus Prime had once asked him out of curiosity in the past, but received an answer that left him very confused.
"The thirteen original ancestors? Are they worthy of that title? They were nothing more than a bunch of selfish fellows... Optimus Prime, you must remember, it was not us who abandoned them, but they who abandoned us..."
As for who the thirteen original ancestors were and where they went, Sentinel Prime never mentioned a single word about it.
Optimus Prime had once asked Alpha Trion, the recognized elder and sage among the Autobots.
But all he received was silence, and a long, heavy sigh.
Even though tens of thousands of years had passed, Optimus Prime still remembered a sentence from that elder before he left.
"Little one, you are destined to become a Leader, a great Leader... Your gaze should look forward, and you should not chase after history that has long since been turned over..."
Those who knew were unwilling to speak, and coupled with the destruction of the entire Cybertronian civilization by two civil wars.
To this day, the younger generation of Autobots and Decepticons have long since regarded the thirteen original ancestors as myths and legends.
So much so that when the myths and legends returned, they looked around in confusion, only to realize they knew nothing at all.
"Sam..."
Optimus Prime sighed, "The history of our Cybertron is just like the past of your Earth. In the past, Cybertron had a civilization even more glorious than yours is now, and mastered more advanced technology. But the racial prejudice between the Decepticons and the Autobots, along with two wars that lasted for millions of years, not only wiped out our glorious civilization of the past, but even our planet is now on the verge of death!"
"This is also the reason why we Autobots have always hoped to cooperate with you humans to drive the Decepticons away from Earth."
"We do not wish for Earth to become a second Cybertron; this is not only inappropriate for you Earthlings, but also unfair!"
"Now, even if your government has rejected our goodwill, we will still continue to fight until the Decepticons are completely driven out of Earth!"
Sam opened his mouth slightly, but in the end, he said nothing.
He was just a normal American high school student; perhaps he had some unusual experiences compared to a normal high school student, but that still could not change anything.
No one would believe what he said, and it was even more impossible for the government to listen to him.
After thinking for a moment, he used a wooden stick lying nearby to draw a dozen more runes on the sand in front of him and asked, "Optimus Prime, what do these runes mean?"
Three days ago, Optimus Prime led his team to protect him and his girlfriend Mikaela as they embarked on a journey to find the Matrix of Leadership.
This was clearly not an easy task, because the information and clues regarding the Matrix of Leadership all came from the runic messages in Sam's mind.
However, there were simply too many runes he had received, and Sam was not a Cybertronian, so he could not digest all the information within in the shortest amount of time.
Consequently, Optimus Prime and the others could only wait for Sam to organize the runes in his head, draw them out bit by bit, and then have them interpreted by Optimus Prime, who could read the Elder Script.
Over the past few days, they had successively deciphered over a thousand different Elder Script characters. Even though the Elder Script was a form of encrypted message and each character contained a lot of information, it was not easy for Optimus Prime and the others to organize them because they were too chaotic.
Everyone looked at the strange characters on the sand; Optimus Prime looked the most intently, and his expression quickly became serious.
"Sam... can you think of any more characters now..."
This should have been the strongest reaction Optimus Prime had shown in days.
Mikaela asked, "Is there a problem with these characters?"
Optimus Prime nodded solemnly, "Sam, hurry and think back carefully."
"Alright, alright, give me a moment!"
Sam frowned and rubbed his temples. He could not understand the Elder Script at all, so to him, those strange runes in his head all looked about the same. Over the past few days, he had mixed up quite a few characters because of this and written some meaningless, incorrect ones.
"Sam, take your time, no need to rush!" Mikaela patted his hand from the side and comforted him softly.
Sam nodded, closed his eyes, and recalled carefully for a while before slowly writing down thirty or forty more.
Optimus Prime finished reading them carefully, and his face was already looking very grim.
"Is there a problem? Optimus Prime..." Sam asked.
"Earth is in big trouble, Sam!"
Optimus Prime replied solemnly, "These Elder Script characters, once deciphered, tell of an ancient secret."
"A long time ago, among the thirteen original ancestors, an ancestor named Megatronus committed a great mistake."
"To punish Megatronus, the other ancestors banished him from the planet Cybertron and forbade him from ever returning."
"Later, he returned to Cybertron with the AllSpark and begged the other ancestors for forgiveness."
"The ancestors eventually forgave him, but not long after, Megatronus left Cybertron again. He told the other ancestors that he would bring even greater glory to the planet Cybertron!"
"The other ancestors sensed a problem, so they sent six ancestors to track him all the way to Earth..."
"As it turned out, they discovered that Megatronus had built a powerful weapon on Earth that could extract the Sun's energy to create another AllSpark."
"And on Earth, life and civilization had already been born at that time."
"Megatronus was even enslaving those humans he called reptiles, using them as slaves, and intended to destroy their home!"
"His atrocities eventually angered the six ancestors who had tracked him to Earth, and so a long-lasting war broke out between them on Earth!"
