Chapter 605: Leadership Module (Part 1)

~7 min read 1,354 words

In the Jordan Petra Mountains, a mixed squad composed of Autobots and humans is moving rapidly through the mountains.

"We are very close to the coordinates now. Everyone be careful; it is very likely that there are Decepticons nearby..."

Ironhide pulls himself together. Having been silent the entire way, he only begins to constantly remind his team members to be careful after entering the Petra Mountains.

"Area ahead is clear!"

Lia stands on a small hill dozens of meters away. As a female Autobot, her alternate form is a motorcycle.

Her speed traveling through these mountains is much faster than the other Autobots whose alternate forms are various cars, so ever since entering the mountains, she has volunteered to take on the role of Pathfinder.

"Bumblebee..."

Ironhide looks at Bumblebee, who is walking with Sam and Mikaela, and asks with a frown: "Still can't reach Prowl?"

Prowl was once the Intelligence Chief for Sentinel Prime and died during the civil war in a vicious assassination.

Later, Sentinel Prime resurrected him. The new body designed for him by the Autobot Scientists shares the same structure as Bumblebee, Barricade, Jazz, and others; it is not a stretch to call them brothers.

This identical body structure gives Bumblebee and Prowl a special connection, allowing them to sense each other's presence even when separated by a distance.

Upon hearing this, Bumblebee walks to a nearby hill, stands facing four directions for several dozen seconds each, then shakes his head at Ironhide, and immediately jumps down from the small hill, which is dozens of meters high, in two or three steps.

"Can't reach him. He shouldn't be in this vicinity; I can't feel his signal!"

This is not good news. Prowl was sent by Optimus Prime to the Petra Mountains several days ago to check the situation at the coordinates sent by Major William.

Not long after that, he lost contact with the Base.

Although Optimus Prime showed very high trust in Prowl, believing that even if he were discovered by the Decepticons, he would be able to escape safely.

But the fact remains that Prowl is now completely missing.

Ironhide nods heavily but says nothing.

Recently, the repeated fierce battles between the Autobots and the Decepticons have caused the Autobots heavy losses.

In the past year or so, of the Autobot Warriors who came to Earth in response to Optimus Prime's call, fewer than twenty remain now, so every single one is a precious combat asset.

The heavy-hearted group treks rapidly through the mountain rocks, and before long, they arrive at the location pointed to by the coordinates.

Lia, who is responsible for scouting, is the first to see the Nameless Temple, which has been destroyed beyond recognition. She first checks the vicinity carefully, and only after confirming it is safe does she climb to the top of the small hill where the temple was built.

"Safe, no Decepticons found!"

Ironhide and the others arrive a few minutes later than her. When they round a bend and see the ruins below the hill, which have been destroyed beyond recognition by the Decepticons, the expressions of all the Autobots are very ugly.

"Are we too late?"

Swerve sits down on the ground in a discouraged manner, his mood very low.

Sideswipe walks forward in silence, his eyes emitting two blue beams to scan for a while before he shakes his head.

"This was originally a temple; it must have been destroyed only a few days ago... The work of the Constructicons... Everything is gone..."

The temple was clearly destroyed by the Constructicons, who are skilled in engineering; there are traces left by digging buckets and drills everywhere.

Ironhide links to the satellite, calibrates, and looks at the ruins of the temple in front of him. "The coordinates Major William sent us are right here. It looks like we are a step too late..."

His tone also sounds very low; after all, the place is destroyed beyond recognition, and there are no Decepticons guarding it nearby.

There is a high probability that the Decepticons have already obtained what they wanted.

Silence and despair once again shroud everyone present.

But Bumblebee is only sad for a moment before he walks forward and, without a word, buries his head in picking up the rubble of the temple ruins, throwing them more than ten meters away.

This action of his immediately attracts everyone's attention.

"It's useless, Bumblebee, everything is over!"

Swerve says from the side, his mood low.

Bumblebee does not pay him any mind, continuing to pick up stones and clear the ruins.

Sideswipe opens his mouth, but quickly closes it again. He had already checked everything under the ruins while scanning just now; there really was nothing left.

But looking at the silent Bumblebee, this cold Warrior suddenly seems to understand something after a long while.

"As long as it's not confirmed, there is still hope; if you give up directly, then there is nothing left."

This thought suddenly pops into his head, and for the first time, Sideswipe does not mock Bumblebee for his self-deception.

Instead, he follows his lead, walks to the ruins, and begins to move stones to clear them.

Sam and Mikaela look at each other and also walk over to help pick up some small stones to throw away.

Their behavior clearly touches many people. After Ironhide is stunned for a moment, he also walks forward without a word, picks up a large stone as tall as a person, and throws it more than twenty meters away with a roar.

"Now is not the time to give up... Swerve..."

Ratchet looks at everyone with gratification, pats Swerve, who has the temperament of a child, and then also walks forward to help.

After all eight Autobots begin to help, Sam and Mikaela are quickly pushed to the back to rest.

There is no help for it; their efficiency is far inferior to the Autobots, and standing there, they might be hit by debris accidentally dropped while the others are moving things, so they simply walk away so as not to affect their work.

The Autobots' efficiency is very fast; the temple ruins, which must weigh at least a hundred tons, are cleared up in just a few minutes.

What remains are all some gravel, sand, and dust, which no longer affect their field of vision.

The front wall of the Nameless Temple has collapsed for the most part, and only the lower part of the arched gate remains.

Sam follows behind Bumblebee and is the first to walk into the temple ruins, which are still a person's height. At a glance, the walls are covered with signs of destruction.

The front wall, the left wall, and the right wall are the most severely damaged. Judging by the proportions, this temple must have been at least twenty or thirty meters high in the past, but now these three walls are only about two or three meters high.

The rear wall, however, because it is close to the mountain, is relatively well-preserved in the area where the murals are carved, even though it has also been mostly destroyed.

"A wasted effort; there is nothing here..."

Seeing that there is nothing inside, Swerve cannot help but complain in a discouraged manner again.

"Shut up!"

Ironhide scolds him. He checks the temple carefully and finds that there is indeed nothing there. In a low mood, he takes out a cigar, lights it, and smokes it sullenly.

"What should I do next? Leave Earth, or call for more support?"

It was still Yaohuang who asked the question; at this moment, only he, with his childlike temperament, had the willingness to speak.

However, his incessant chatter annoyed Sideswipe.

He was seen drawing his Triangular Blade and throwing it fiercely toward him.

"Screech!"

The Triangular Blade grazed Yaohuang's ear and pierced the mural on the back wall of the temple.

"Shut up!"

He warned impatiently, "If you talk nonsense again, I will plug your mouth!"

Once these words were out, Yaohuang, who had learned his personality well from his teacher Ironhide, immediately became furious.
