Chapter 668: Mutual Scheming (Bonus for Alliance Leader

~7 min read 1,279 words

Having successfully used Sentinel Prime's intelligence to rope the Autobots into the fold, Sun Cheng felt his confidence surge now that he had these free helpers.

A Leader capable of killing the ancient The Fallen, combined with several Commanders and Elite Warriors, meant he wouldn't even be afraid of facing Megatron head-on.

After agreeing with Optimus Prime on the time to trade the supplies and the Matrix of Leadership energy, Sun Cheng quickly returned to Trindade Island.

He didn't care at all about exposing this island now; the Forge of Solus Prime could not be stored inside the Spherical Space, but he had already sent it back to Base No. 2 in advance.

Although there were still some Workers and Autobots on the island, even if they suffered some losses in an attack, it was still within an acceptable range.

Yes, that black-hearted guy Sun Cheng had already turned this place into a trap—a trap to lure Soundwave into taking the bait.

The days of waiting always pass especially slowly.

The four days were like an hourglass dampened by water, but they eventually reached this day.

It was still on Saint Helena, and it was still Sun Cheng and Thunder.

However, on Starscream's side, there was one extra person: Barricade, along with three other Decepticons whose names he didn't know.

"This guy really didn't die!"

Watching Starscream and Barricade take out the Energy Pillars one by one and stack them neatly in front of him.

"When is Astrotrain leaving?" Sun Cheng narrowed his eyes. "When do you plan to start your plan?"

Facing the pile of Energy Pillars that were absolutely enough to trigger a small war between the Autobots and Decepticons, he only gave them a glance before losing interest.

Anyway, after the trade was completed, these Energy Pillars would be Sun Cheng's.

He would have plenty of time to admire or even think about how to use them later; right now, he had to get his hands on as much of the intelligence he cared about as possible.

Soundwave was by no means someone who would be easily fooled, especially when facing Sun Cheng and Starscream.

More than a year ago, he had been tricked by Sun Cheng and Starscream, and had nearly lost his life.

Believing that with that lesson, this naturally cautious Intelligence Chief of the Decepticon Legion would surely be even more careful and prudent than in the past.

This could be glimpsed from the fact that in the past few months, other than seeing him once at North Port, Sun Cheng hadn't seen Soundwave again.

After putting down the last Energy Pillar, Starscream suddenly pulled out two weapons and fiercely fired a shot into the heads of the two Decepticons he had brought.

Almost at the same time the gunshot rang out, Barricade, as if he shared a telepathic connection with him, suddenly pulled out his weapon, giving both Thunder and Sun Cheng a fright.

Then they saw Barricade very decisively fire a follow-up shot into the head of the last unknown Decepticon that Starscream had brought to help transport the Energy Pillars.

Sun Cheng and Thunder were both startled by this turn of events and simultaneously went on alert.

However, seeing Starscream and Barricade put away their weapons after dealing with the three Decepticons, he frowned slightly, but also lowered his guard a little.

He looked at the three unknown Decepticons lying on the ground, already completely destroyed, and said sarcastically, "That's certainly your style!"

Starscream's scarlet optics kept sizing up the alert Thunder, not at all angered by his sarcasm.

"They knew too much!"

His thin, sharp voice was cold and ruthless. "And one of them was Soundwave's man!"

Sun Cheng narrowed his eyes. "So, even the Energy Pillar trade was part of your plan?"

That was it; if anyone said Starscream didn't have eyes arranged by Soundwave and the Cassette Corps around him, he certainly wouldn't believe it.

After all, within the entire Decepticon Legion, there were many Decepticons dissatisfied with Megatron's rule, and there were no shortage of voices opposing him, but those who dared to openly raise an army to rebel were still few and far between.

Starscream happened to be one of those few, and one who had rebelled twice.

Such a dangerous element was definitely a key target for surveillance by Soundwave and the Cassette Corps.

It was just that Sun Cheng hadn't expected this guy Starscream to dare to play like this, personally entering the fray to lure Soundwave into the trap.

"If I didn't do this, with that guy's personality, how could he possibly jump out!"

Starscream admitted it very readily, smiling at Sun Cheng, looking exceptionally treacherous.

Sun Cheng understood. He walked up quickly, his eyes emitting two beams of azure light. After checking, he dismantled several very well-hidden little things in front of Starscream, pinched them between two fingers, and crushed them into powder.

Only then did he reach out to touch the pile of Energy Pillars, storing them all into the Spherical Space.

The expressions on Starscream and Barricade's faces changed slightly, then returned to normal.

This was just a small test; although it was low-class, it was very practical.

For hypocritical, insidious Decepticons like them, they shouldn't be blamed for this; Sun Cheng was already used to the Decepticons' way of behaving, and only cursed them twice in his heart.

"So, Soundwave will come to investigate the reason at any time because of this trade... You certainly have a good plan..."

He gave a light snort to express his dissatisfaction at being manipulated, then asked impatiently, "Where is Astrotrain now? If he hasn't headed to the Asteroid Belt yet, I will hide where Soundwave can't find me..."

Having been played by Starscream, Sun Cheng felt a bit anxious; he had to get the Autobots to send reinforcements as soon as possible, preferably having Optimus Prime come in person.

But he also knew that he must never show it in front of Starscream; to the Decepticons, cowardice and timidity were original sins.

Compared to plotting against him, Starscream had spent so much effort, not hesitating to put himself into the game, naturally wanting to see his old rival Soundwave die on Earth.

He withdrew his gaze, which had been falling on Thunder from time to time and making him feel creeped out.

Starscream looked at Sun Cheng and grinned, his ferocious fangs making him lose his appetite.

"Don't worry, my dear friend... It's not just you who wants to see Soundwave disappear forever; I do too... Astrotrain was sent by me to the Asteroid Belt the day before yesterday, but while investigating the Matrix of Leadership for The Fallen earlier, Soundwave took away a team of Terrorcon clones..."

Sun Cheng thought for a moment. "Crankcase, Crowbar, and Hatchet?"

Most of the clones under Starscream were Cannon Fodder soldiers with poor combat power, but there were also some clones from powerful squads.

For example, the Constructicon squad that could combine into the Gestalt Devastator, as well as the Terrorcons composed of Crankcase, Crowbar, and Hatchet, and several other squads he hadn't encountered yet and wasn't sure if Starscream was cultivating.

Starscream nodded. "Only one team!"

The strength of the Terrorcon clones should have reached the Advanced Warrior level.

But they shouldn't be that strong; after all, they were just copies, and Starscream couldn't possibly spend too many resources on them.

With a count in his heart, Sun Cheng then replied, "I know. If it's just them, there shouldn't be a problem on my end!"

Starscream revealed his ferocious fangs once again; he knew that the hunting operation against Soundwave had already begun.
