Chapter 710: Seventh Hundredth Chapter: Deceit and Treachery (Part 2)
After Barricade defected, Prowl was the one initially responsible for hunting him down.
The Decepticon Legion never deliberately protects any defector; they only grant more resources once they see the other party's value.
Therefore, after defecting, Barricade also needed to constantly complete Tasks to prove his own ability and value.
For Prowl, this Intelligence Chief of the Autobots, targeting a defecting Autobot could not be simpler.
He would often appear during Barricade's Tasks, suddenly launching assassination attempts or sabotaging his Tasks.
For a very long time, Prowl hunted Barricade until he had nowhere to go and no door to enter.
Later, as Bumblebee finished training, the Autobot hunting Barricade became Bumblebee; it would be no exaggeration to say that the hatred between these "three brothers" was as deep as the sea.
So, when Prowl suddenly arrived outside the Decepticon Base and even delivered Bumblebee tied up, Barricade opened with a round of sarcasm.
"Welcome... welcome, your Excellency the Intelligence Chief..."
He glanced at Bumblebee, who was being dragged by Prowl, and a look of disdain appeared at the corner of his mouth.
Prowl ignored his sarcasm and threw Bumblebee straight down in front of Barricade.
"His Majesty ordered me to bring Bumblebee here and tell Megatron that the Autobots have already located the crash site of the spaceship; His Majesty is very angry..."
Barricade kicked the unconscious Bumblebee, the red light in his eyes flickering.
He knew who the "His Majesty" in Prowl's mouth was; this brother and teacher of his had only been loyal to one person in two lifetimes, and that was the former Leader of the Autobots, the original King of Primus—Sentinel Prime, an existence that even the commander of the Decepticon Legion, Megatron, feared deeply.
It is said that Sentinel Prime's combat power was comparable to the ancestors, and he was a living Prime.
And the reason he lost to the Decepticons in the civil war was not because Sentinel Prime's command and ability were inferior to Megatron's.
On the contrary, for a long time during the First Civil War, Sentinel Prime commanded Autobots whose strength was far inferior to the Decepticon Legion, holding the Decepticon Legion, which had several times his own strength, in a stalemate.
The ability and methods of the King of Primus, Sentinel Prime, can be seen from this.
The reason the final outcome was a total victory for the Decepticons was, to put it bluntly, not a failure of war, but purely for reasons within the Autobots themselves.
In the Autobot camp, which yearned for peace, freedom, and democracy, there were simply too many old nobles with excellent backgrounds, members of the Royalist Party, and pedantic Autobots.
These pieces of trash couldn't do anything right, but they were the best at pointing fingers.
Yet, the viewpoints they repeatedly touted and propagated could still win a market among the Autobot civilians, and even after Sentinel Prime suppressed batch after batch, they still grew wildly like weeds.
Ultimately, in this contest, that King of Primus chose to concede.
And so, more and more constraints were constantly placed upon him.
It can be said that Sentinel Prime did not lose to Megatron, but lost to the Autobots.
However, although even Megatron had some admiration for Sentinel Prime, what did that have to do with Barricade?
Barricade was forced to defect precisely because of a series of cold-blooded policies by Sentinel Prime that could be called cruel.
Although he had later become completely accustomed to the Decepticon Legion and had accepted the identity of a Decepticon in his heart, that did not mean Barricade would not resent Sentinel Prime and the Autobots.
With a cold laugh, he stepped aside, "The Decepticons only recognize one Majesty, and that is Megatron. If you have anything to say, go tell His Majesty Megatron yourself!"
Before coming, Barricade had already learned some inside information from Starscream.
That was why he and the Decepticons did not launch an attack immediately after discovering Prowl.
Otherwise, even if Prowl's combat power was significantly higher than his, this was a Decepticon Base, and facing the encirclement of a massive number of Decepticons, Prowl would still end up dying here.
Prowl stared at Barricade expressionlessly, and Barricade did not back down in the slightest.
His Memory Chip had long been backed up by Starscream; although he would lose a portion of the memories from the time after the backup until his death every time he was Awakened after dying.
But precisely because of this, Barricade feared death not at all; on the battlefield, this Advanced Warrior even dared to strike at a Leader.
Prowl was, after all, alone; he could not maintain his tough attitude and soon made a concession.
"Lead the way!"
He said calmly, and Barricade grinned, the disappointment on his face clearly visible.
This guy with a nasty personality was dying for Prowl to cause trouble here and then be torn into scraps by the swarming Decepticons.
Disappointment aside, his greatest strength in being able to join the Decepticon Legion as an Autobot traitor and mix into the Core circle was knowing the gravity of the situation.
Dragging Bumblebee, Barricade turned and walked toward the Decepticon Base.
Not long after, a terrifyingly ferocious warship appeared in Prowl's field of vision.
Looking at the Nemesis warship that had once performed great meritorious service for the Decepticon Legion, Prowl had a fleeting thought of blowing it up.
This was probably the wish of every Autobot!
During the First Civil War, the current Leader of the Autobots—Optimus Prime, relied on the Ark, a spaceship created by Wheeljack and others through researching an Explorer-class medium Transport Spaceship from the Council of Ancients era.
In a critical battle, they caught the Decepticons off guard, forcing Megatron and the Decepticon Legion to sign a ceasefire agreement with them.
Afterward, the bitter and angry Megatron ordered Shockwave to assemble the technology and resources of the entire Decepticon Legion to build the invincible warship—the Nemesis.
The Nemesis lived up to its name; during the Second Cybertronian Civil War, the Decepticon Legion relied on this invincible warship, combined with the air superiority the Decepticon Legion already possessed, to have mastered absolute air supremacy by the middle of the war.
Including the Ark, more than a dozen medium Transport Spaceships built by the Autobots were all destroyed one by one because of the Nemesis, and the Autobots thus lost many satellites and alien colonies that had been loyal to the King of Primus, Sentinel Prime, during the Council of Ancients era.
However, the thought of blowing up the Nemesis had only just emerged before it was dismissed by Prowl.
This indestructible, invincible warship was not something he could destroy; if it were a Triple Changer—Broadside, or perhaps the combiner formed by the Aerialbots—Superion, there might be some possibility.
That was on the condition that they could catch the Decepticons off guard!
Following behind Barricade, Prowl soon stepped into the Nemesis under the watchful eyes of more and more Decepticons.
Along the wide-open ship bay of this invincible warship, they soon arrived outside a heavily guarded cabin located deep within the spaceship.
As soon as Barricade signaled, the alloy door of that cabin opened automatically.
Prowl felt two gazes land on him and hurriedly followed the line of sight, and a Decepticon with a sinister smile on his face immediately locked eyes with him.
And he was none other than Starscream!
