Chapter 759: Seeing Through
"Starscream would need my help?"
Quickly realizing the issue, Sun Cheng sneered and looked down at the Chameleon.
The Decepticon Legion is filled with traitors and rife with conspirators.
However, if one were to truly rank the big shots, Megatron, Shockwave, Starscream, and Soundwave are the four undisputed giants.
These four Decepticons control over ninety percent of the entire Decepticon Legion's military, research, and intelligence personnel; even Soundwave, whose strength/influence is relatively weaker, would be impossible for Starscream to handle if he were determined to escape.
This is also the reason why Starscream previously teamed up with Sun Cheng, and why Sun Cheng dragged the Autobots into the trap to ambush Soundwave together.
Starscream is even more troublesome than Soundwave; he is a great scientist within the Decepticon Legion, though after his second failed rebellion, he was stripped of his military rank by Megatron and sent off to cultivate clone warriors for the Decepticon Legion.
But for an ambitious conspirator like him, a military rank appointed by Megatron is just paper in a latrine—it can be used to wipe one's ass when needed, and it is trash when it isn't.
From the failure of his second rebellion until now, Starscream has been cultivating clone warriors for the Decepticon Legion.
During this period, he has not shown any further actions to resist Megatron, though, of course, there have been plenty of small movements in the shadows.
The reappearance of the Web is the best proof of this.
Although Starscream's nauseating sycophancy cannot deceive Megatron into trusting him at all.
But that arrogant tyrant does not care about his loyalty; what Megatron needs is power that can strengthen the Decepticon Legion or make himself more powerful.
Clearly, the various technologies mastered by Starscream are within his sequence of needs.
So, even after rebelling against Megatron twice, he is still living well, and the trump cards in his hand are becoming more and more numerous.
As for the Moon, at least Sun Cheng does not dare to go up there.
Starscream has been operating on the Moon for over a hundred years; heaven knows how many clone warriors he has cultivated in secret.
He has even suspected whether that guy might have already privately assembled an army—an army prepared to resist Megatron again and contend with him for the command of the Decepticon Legion.
Therefore, even though Optimus Prime has led the Autobots who have arrived on Earth to launch an all-out war against the Moon, Sun Cheng does not believe Starscream will be defeated so quickly.
He certainly won't forget that Starscream still holds the good card of Devastator in his hand.
The Chameleon twisted its body and continued to emit that easily translated hissing sound.
"Optimus Prime is personally leading the team into battle, the main force of the Autobots is out in full, and the Aerialbots have also joined the fight. The pressure on the master's side is immense; he hopes that you, Lord Frenzy, can offer your assistance..."
The Chameleon's words caused Sun Cheng's fingers to subconsciously tap lightly on his seat.
Some time ago, Base No. 2 detected a few Autobots landing on Earth; he had originally been suspicious of their identities, and now the Chameleon has confirmed Sun Cheng's guess.
The Autobots who arrived on Earth not long ago are precisely the Aerialbots, one of the most important combat forces in the Autobot faction.
"If Optimus Prime is leading the main force of the Autobots out in full, and the Aerialbots have also joined the battle, then it makes sense that Starscream on the Moon would feel overwhelmed and ask me for help!"
Not to mention that Optimus Prime alone is comparable to an entire army.
The newly arrived Aerialbots, despite having flaws in their respective personalities, are all Elite Warriors without exception.
The Giant Combiner they form—Superion—has long been considered the strongest second-generation Giant Combiner; the Devastator mastered by Starscream, while not exactly being completely crushed when facing Superion, is definitely no match for it.
Countless thoughts appeared and vanished in his mind; Sun Cheng looked at the Chameleon, feeling he had vaguely guessed some of Starscream's intentions.
"Starscream wants me to take action; how could he need my power... You arrived in the Solar System at least a hundred years earlier than us; I believe that at this moment on the Moon, there will definitely not be a one-sided battle... Speak, what is his true purpose, and the price he is prepared to pay to pull me into this game..."
Sun Cheng does not trust Starscream, and his vigilance toward him is even greater than toward the Autobots.
He is also unwilling to be dragged into the battle between the Autobot and Decepticon factions, but this does not prevent him from using the negotiations to first probe the current battle situation on the Moon and Starscream's true purpose.
Unfortunately, he is destined to be disappointed.
"Fifty Energy Pillars, pay twenty first! Heh..."
Suddenly rising to grab the Chameleon, Sun Cheng crushed it without hesitation.
Thinking he could pull him into the game with a mere twenty Energy Pillars—while he admits that the Decepticon Engineers under his command have yet to master the production of Energy Pillars.
But this does not mean Sun Cheng would stab the Autobots in the back for a mere twenty Energy Pillars.
Then, brushing off the corpse of the Chameleon, which he had killed before it could even resist, like trash onto the ground, he thought for a moment and immediately notified Thunder.
"Thunder, return to Base No. 2 immediately, supervise Atlas and the others in rushing to produce a few Lunar Exploration Satellites, and launch them into lunar orbit within a day. I want real-time monitoring data of the current situation on the Moon!"
"Yes, Master!"
Thunder responded in the communication channel, and his electromagnetic spectrum could soon no longer be sensed on the island.
After finishing all this, Sun Cheng sat back down on the metal seat in the conference room that was suitable for Decepticons like them.
Tapping his fingers lightly on the metal armrest, he needed to sort this matter out properly.
The Autobots have suddenly assembled their main combat forces and have already attacked the Moon.
Starscream's purpose in contacting him is also very simple; they have likely already sensed that the Autobots have established a new base on Earth, so they are attempting to win him over and have Sun Cheng attack the Autobots' new base.
One must know that among those Autobots who arrived on Earth to seek refuge with Optimus Prime, civilians who are not skilled in combat account for more than half of the total number.
If Sun Cheng really took the opportunity to attack the Autobots' new base, the result would be self-evident.
Xintiebao cannot block his attack, a large number of Autobot civilians would be killed, and a furious Optimus Prime would definitely have to lead his main force back to Earth.
This is absolutely a brilliant scheme to kill three birds with one stone: it can damage the relationship between Sun Cheng and the Autobots, force Optimus Prime and his group to withdraw their troops, and finally shift the Autobots' fury onto himself.
Unfortunately, the chips Starscream offered are simply too few.
"Unless Starscream dares to risk completely angering Megatron by taking out all the Energy Pillars obtained from the ship that Sentinel Prime crashed in to use as chips, otherwise he won't be able to move me!"
Fifty Energy Pillars are nothing; for Sun Cheng, whose influence is gradually taking shape, they don't count for much at all.
If it weren't for the fact that the Decepticon Engineers under his command have yet to master the technology to manufacture Energy Pillars.
Otherwise, with the luxurious foundation Sun Cheng currently has, being able to use High-purity Energy Liquid to expand the Spherical Space within his body, he could manufacture over a hundred Energy Pillars in a very short time.
"But it looks like Starscream doesn't seem able to offer more chips to win me over right now... Has Megatron's consciousness already been awakened? Or have Shockwave's vanguard troops arrived?"
Unable to help himself, he looked up at the ceiling, but Sun Cheng's gaze seemed to pierce through those obstacles and land on the Moon hundreds of thousands of kilometers away.
I wonder how the Autobots and Decepticons are fighting there now?
PS:
According to the plan, it was supposed to be delivered at three o'clock, but a sudden thunderstorm caused a power outage here for over forty minutes.
As a result, after the power came back on, I saw that one page of the manuscript had been swallowed again; the chapter displayed a word count of 1823/0 but was completely blank, and the background backup of the writing software was also entirely blank, so I had no choice but to rewrite a chapter following the previous train of thought—a very terrible experience.
This chapter is a bit late, please forgive me.
