Chapter 806: New Body
When returning to Earth again, nearly a month had passed since Sun Cheng's last departure.
Stepping off the spaceship and looking at the surrounding environment, which seemed no different from before he left, Sun Cheng looked up and saw a Decepticon Warrior who felt somewhat unfamiliar yet gave him a very familiar feeling.
"Thunder?"
Looking at this Decepticon Warrior before him, who shared five or six points of resemblance with both himself and Pioneer, though his body looked a head shorter than Pioneer's yet also more burly, Sun Cheng identified the other's identity after slightly distinguishing the electromagnetic spectrum emitted by him.
"Master, it is I. Welcome back!"
Thunder bowed slightly in salute; it was evident that he was very satisfied with his new body.
Sun Cheng looked him up and down and nodded with satisfaction.
Unlike Pioneer, who leaned toward agility and reconnaissance, Thunder focused more on strength and firepower, while also balancing close-quarters combat and heavy firepower suppression.
When his body was still in the design phase, Sun Cheng had put forward many specific requirements to the Decepticon Engineers, all of which were needs he had summarized from observing Thunder in daily life.
Clearly, Thunder was very satisfied with his current body.
"When did you wake up?" Sun Cheng asked casually.
"Four days ago. Sprint and the others are currently replacing their new bodies!"
Sun Cheng nodded calmly; the shadow of war was constantly drawing closer.
The abrupt return of Sentinel Prime, and the army led by Shockwave, were also drawing closer to the Solar System day by day.
No one knew which day the war would break out; perhaps it would start tomorrow.
Sun Cheng did not like fighting battles without certainty, although if he could choose, he would not want to fight any faction at all.
Developing and growing in peace, becoming a spacefaring civilization, and then bringing more resources back to the real world—wouldn't that be a very beautiful thing?
It is a pity that the Dao of Heaven is the most fickle; it is impossible for everything to go according to Sun Cheng's wishes.
"During the time I was away, did anything happen on Earth? And what about the Moon?"
Thunder shook his head. Within the Decepticon Legion, Warriors were inherently a higher rank, naturally nobler than Worker or medical professions.
Sun Cheng did not have much intention to correct this; under his command, combat-profession Decepticons were half a rank higher than those of the same level in technical professions.
Being able to achieve this much, he could be considered to have put effort into raising the status of the technical-profession Decepticons.
At the same time, Sun Cheng had not chilled the hearts of those Decepticon Warriors who followed him through thick and thin.
After Thunder woke up from replacing his new body, he had used his own authority to temporarily take over the security and defense of Base No. 2.
He summarized the situation and then replied: "Everything is normal within Base No. 2. Mola did mention that he lost several Decepticon spies under his command, suspected to have suffered retaliation from the CIA..."
"With Pioneer at Trindade Island, there shouldn't be any security issues. During this time, other than contacting the base here to request two batches of equipment to maintain Black Market operations, he hasn't contacted the base again."
"As for the Moon, I believe you understand the situation, Master. Starscream must have discovered our Lunar Exploration Satellite; now it is very difficult for us to capture the true scene on the Moon—it is all unchanging imagery!"
The situation at Trindade Island and the Moon was within Sun Cheng's expectations; as for Mola, after thinking for a moment, he didn't take it to heart.
The Americans had been arrogant since World War II and were used to it; they were always the ones causing trouble all over the world. In the last few months, they had lost hundreds of intelligence personnel in South America in succession. Knowing they dared to reason with Sun Cheng on the Black Market before, one could tell how overbearing their style had always been.
As for saying the CIA wouldn't retaliate, Sun Cheng himself didn't believe it.
"Suffering a little loss now can be considered accumulating experience! Remind Mola's side to be careful; retaliate when necessary, and also try your best to purge the spies within the areas we control. As for how to handle things, let him decide for himself!"
"Yes!"
Sun Cheng did not return to Trindade Island; he was already very at ease leaving that side to be managed by Pioneer.
The defense system of Trindade Island had been rebuilt over the past month or so.
With the previous lessons, Trindade Island was now completely protected.
In addition to the original Anti-Aircraft System, several engineering teams were currently working day and night on the islands surrounding Trindade Island, deploying more Anti-Aircraft Systems and heavy anti-sea firepower.
Sun Cheng understood a little and then stopped paying attention.
He was now pouring all his heart and mind into Base No. 2, keeping a close eye on the construction of his New Body and the construction of the Explorer-class Cargo Spaceship.
The design and construction of Sun Cheng's New Body had begun about half a year ago.
It was just that how powerful a Leader-class body should be, even he himself could not say, let alone the group of Decepticon Engineers under him.
With no other choice, Sun Cheng initially proposed a concept: based on his current body, every capability should be at least ten times greater.
Following this requirement, the Decepticon Engineers began the first phase of design, and then they immediately encountered a difficult problem!
All the metals known within the base could not satisfy Sun Cheng's requirements for his New Body.
Thus, the design team had to split off several engineers to specifically research new metals.
This was also the reason why, even though Pioneer and Thunder, who had designed and built their new bodies later than Sun Cheng, had already finished replacing them, his New Body still had no progress.
Because in the process of design, problems kept appearing one after another.
Eventually, Sun Cheng also realized that they needed some references.
Then, the remains of Astrotrain, the closest thing to a Leader-class Warrior, were taken out from his Spherical Space.
Sun Cheng even carefully surveyed all the body data of Jetfire in his own Laboratory and handed it to the Decepticon Engineers under him.
Only then did the design of his New Body begin to proceed smoothly.
Construction had only just begun shortly before Sun Cheng went to Mars; the reason was simple: the Decepticon Engineers under him had spent several months just on the alloy used to build his New Body.
At the same time, several engineers led by Atlas, in the process of repeatedly studying Astrotrain's body, vaguely grasped some modification technologies related to Triple Changers.
Although they had only researched a tiny bit for now, once they truly mastered this technology in the future, Sun Cheng would not mind promoting it among his subordinates.
His New Body would adopt the same tightly compressed structure as Astrotrain in the future.
This structure was specifically designed by Shockwave for Astrotrain, making his body more robust and powerful, and possessing terrifying, nearly damage-free defensive capabilities against weapons including some Missiles.
At the same time, Jetfire's body also brought good inspiration to Atlas and the others.
Thanks to the three book friends "GSLT", "Heavy Assault Shield Blade", and "v Light Up Life" for their rewards and support.
