Chapter 807: The Golden Beetle (Part 1)
Jetfire is undoubtedly a powerful Pathfinder; although his body has begun to decay due to his long slumber, Sun Cheng still sensed the power of the Jetfire of the past.
According to his speculation, Jetfire is very likely a Leader.
Of course, unless Sun Cheng is willing to use an AllSpark Fragment to awaken Jetfire, this speculation is difficult to prove.
Jetfire is too old!
Born during the era of the Cybertronian Elder Council, he has survived for millions of years to this day.
Although Cybertronians are a special life form distinct from humans on Earth, their natural lifespan exceeds that of humans, and as long as the energy within their Spark does not run dry, or they do not contract stubborn diseases like Cosmic Rust, they can live almost indefinitely.
But Jetfire has no faction of his own, nor can he obtain the protection of the Decepticon Legion or the Autobots; that he has managed to survive until now is already quite astonishing.
When Sun Cheng and his group discovered him, although the Blackbird high-altitude strategic reconnaissance plane that Jetfire transformed into appeared intact, its interior had actually long since begun to suffer from decay that was difficult to reverse.
However, as a great Scientist, Jetfire clearly spent a great deal of effort in the past guiding the continuous evolution of his own body.
According to tests by Atlas and the others, Jetfire's body is likely far superior to those of the Predecessors, the Thunder, and even Sun Cheng's current body in terms of speed and agility.
Therefore, by studying the data of Jetfire's body, they can also gain a great deal.
Sun Cheng's new body began to take shape rapidly under his own daily supervision.
After returning from Mars, a week passed in the blink of an eye.
Seeing that the transaction date agreed upon with Optimus Prime was approaching, Sun Cheng began to urge the Base to concentrate the materials and equipment sufficient to build ten nuclear power plants, as well as a batch of uranium-rich ore enough for them to use for thirty years, into the designated Warehouses.
Then, he transferred them bit by bit into the Spherical Space within his body, waiting for the day of the transaction to arrive.
What Sun Cheng did not know was that while he was busy with the upcoming meeting, thousands of kilometers away in Africa, in the Autobots' New Iacon, a brand-new Warrior was about to be born.
Inside Wheeljack's Laboratory, Optimus Prime, Ironhide, Sideswipe, and a group of other high-ranking Autobots were all gathered in a very spacious Laboratory.
Their gazes were currently focused on the center of the Laboratory, upon a completely golden body wrapped in dense electrical wires.
Standing around that golden body were Wheeljack, Ratchet, and Perceptor, these three Autobots.
At this moment, Ratchet was solemnly performing the final checks and adjustments on the golden body.
Meanwhile, Wheeljack reminded him with some dissatisfaction from the side: "Ratchet, I have always kept Bumblebee's memory backup very carefully. Besides, this is not our first time working together to awaken a hero; you don't need to be so cautious."
"It is just a routine check, my dear friend!"
Ratchet replied without raising his head, his inspection work meticulous.
An Awakening ceremony was being prepared here, and the Autobot to be awakened was none other than Bumblebee, who had been missing for more than three months and whom the Autobot high command had basically deemed dead.
It is not strange that Optimus Prime would attempt to awaken Bumblebee; Bumblebee was one of his close lieutenants, as well as his most elite spy and agent, having rendered many meritorious services for him in the past.
Of course, another very important reason Bumblebee could be resurrected was that among Optimus Prime's several lieutenants, he was the only Autobot who, due to the danger of his missions and the constant threat of death, had backed up his most precious memories in advance and entrusted them to Optimus Prime for safekeeping.
The vast majority of Autobots have a perception of death that is quite different from that of the Decepticons; for many traditional Autobots, they believe that death is merely a brand-new journey, a return to the embrace of the Primus.
Therefore, for a long time during the Cybertronian Civil War, although the Autobots, like the Decepticons, mastered the relevant technology to awaken fallen Autobots, the vast majority of Autobots opposed using this evil technology on their own kind.
Some diehards, such as the Temple that had always worshipped the relics of the Thirteen Primes, and another organization among the Autobots that pursued the origin—the Fountain of Life—not only interfered with the promotion of Awakening Technology in the Yihui, but even used more radical means to attack laboratories and research institutions conducting Awakening ceremonies.
In order to suppress these rebels at the time, Sentinel Prime had once sent troops to forcibly take over the Temple and regarded the Fountain of Life as insurgents.
But even so, the belief in death and life within the Autobots remained deep-rooted.
This resulted in the fact that even within the military, the vast majority of excellent Autobot Warriors were unwilling to save their memories in advance; they would rather stand on the battlefield than have their privacy known by outsiders.
Optimus Prime's several lieutenants were no exception; for example, Jazz and Ironhide refused to save their memories in advance.
Therefore, after Jazz sacrificed himself, even though Optimus Prime and the others were heartbroken, they had no way to resurrect this well-liked Autobot again.
But Bumblebee, who had voluntarily saved his memories, thus possessed the hope of returning once more.
Optimus Prime waited anxiously on the side; he needed Bumblebee.
In the blink of an eye, it had been more than two months since they rescued Sentinel Prime from the Moon.
Although the warnings from his subordinates and Frenzy had allowed Optimus Prime to withstand the pressure and refrain from awakening Sentinel Prime until now.
But during this period, the rumors and gossip in New Iacon had become increasingly unpleasant.
Although Optimus Prime had sensed the strangeness behind this, the Cassette Troops were not even a fraction as good as Bumblebee when it came to intelligence gathering and espionage.
They could never find the source of the problem, which made Optimus Prime increasingly passive.
With the arrival of a new batch of Autobots in the last few days, the number of Autobots in New Iacon loyal to the Primal Sentinel Prime had already exceeded fifty.
This was already a very dangerous number; if there were some fanatical followers of Sentinel Prime among them, they might really do something stupid like forcibly breaking into the hospital to rescue Sentinel Prime.
Do not think that all Autobots are peaceful by nature; on the planet Cybertron, many organizations have been born that are more extreme than some fanatical religions or even cults on Earth, and to date, the vast majority of them have come from the Autobot faction.
In such a chaotic situation, Optimus Prime could no longer care about the consistent beliefs of the Autobots.
He needed Bumblebee, who might have died in battle, to return and uncover the mastermind behind this for him.
