Chapter 929: On the Verge of Breaking Out
Optimus Prime gazed into the canyon below, even though at a distance of dozens of kilometers, he could see nothing clearly.
Yet that majestic city, which they had planned and built with their own hands, still felt as if it were right before his eyes.
Sideswipe and Ironhide stood on the left and right of Optimus Prime, with dozens of Autobots behind them.
An incomparably solemn, or rather heavy, atmosphere was currently enveloping this team.
"Has Bumblebee not returned yet?"
Hound stood in the back and asked Ratchet, with whom he had a good relationship.
Ratchet shook his head, "With Drift with him, there is certainly no problem regarding safety."
It was just hard to say whether they could evade the current defense system of New Iacon.
When they were still over a hundred kilometers away from New Iacon, Optimus Prime and his team had already encountered two patrol squads.
If it weren't for their extreme familiarity with the terrain here, they likely would have clashed long ago.
And whether it was Optimus Prime or these Autobots following him, none were willing to easily raise a hand against their own kind.
Thus, they remained very restrained and did not choose to continue sneaking, but instead sent out Bumblebee, who was most skilled at reconnaissance, to go ahead.
To prevent him from meeting with misfortune, Optimus Prime also had the Triple Changer Drift accompany him.
As it turned out, they had been gone for over three hours without a single word.
Optimus Prime had sharp ears and keen eyes; this "small" conversation was clearly audible to him.
He frowned, looked up, and glanced at the canyon below once more.
"Wait another half hour. If Bumblebee and the others still haven't returned, we will set out directly!"
He issued the order in a deep voice; having made up his mind to seek justice from his former teacher, Optimus Prime had actually prepared himself to stand on the opposite side of his former teacher.
Ironhide looked down at his palm; his favorite grenade launcher had now appeared in his hand.
Regarding Sentinel Prime's betrayal, Ironhide could be said to be one of the most furious Autobots.
Not to mention that because of him, the Autobots would inevitably fall into a civil war, causing countless deaths and injuries.
Just the fact that New Iacon, which they had painstakingly rebuilt on Earth for over a year, was now occupied by the other party, made Ironhide, who had poured countless efforts into building this city, wish he could immediately fire a round of grenades at this Prime.
Time passed second by second in the waiting.
Optimus Prime and his team were still waiting anxiously, completely unaware that in New Iacon at this moment, Sentinel Prime was standing in front of a light screen, quietly watching them.
"Your Majesty, do you need us to take action?"
Bladewind knelt on the ground and asked respectfully.
He was an Autobot who had arrived on Earth not long ago and was an Elite Warrior.
After the Autobots were defeated and forced to flee their home planet Cybertron, retreating to the satellites, there were simply too many Autobots who were dissatisfied with Optimus Prime, this last Leader, because of the defeat.
Although there were some rational Autobots who clearly understood that there were many reasons for their failure, and the former Leader Sentinel Prime bore a great deal of responsibility.
But who let this Prime hold the title of the strongest Leader? In the past, in countless battles, Sentinel Prime had used his own strength to suppress Megatron, leaving him with little power to fight back.
On the side of the Decepticon Legion, they even had to simultaneously dispatch two leaders and several Elite Warriors to surround him just to barely maintain a balance.
Even among the Autobots, there was no lack of those who worshipped great martial power.
Bladewind was precisely one of them; in the past, he had been extremely dissatisfied with Optimus Prime due to the Autobots' defeat.
After the war ended, when Optimus Prime proposed that capable Autobots should voluntarily head into the universe to find a more suitable habitat for the entire Autobot race, he was one of the first batch of Autobots to leave.
Afterwards, over a hundred years of wandering not only failed to extinguish this Elite Warrior's dissatisfaction with Optimus Prime.
Instead, because he had experienced too much suffering, it made Bladewind miss even more the powerful Autobot faction of the early and middle periods of Sentinel Prime's rule, which could stand on equal footing with the Decepticon Legion.
It was precisely because of this that when he was wandering in the universe and suddenly received the news that Sentinel Prime had been discovered on Earth and re-Awakened, he immediately set off and came to Earth.
Sentinel Prime looked through the light screen at the timid young student opposite him, unable to help but sneer.
"Still too young!"
He turned around, looked at Prowl who was waiting on the side, and ordered: "Prowl, go notify Wheeljack and prepare to open the portal! Keep an eye on him, don't let him play any tricks!"
"Yes!"
Prowl bowed slightly and then left, walking outside.
Sentinel Prime looked at the eager Bladewind once again, his face showing a bit more of a smile.
"Next, we will launch a total war against the humans, these lowly carbon-based organisms. Bladewind, you shall serve as the Military Commander of the Autobots. I will personally lead the army to raid the Beifei Diqu. The Decepticons will dispatch a portion of their clone warriors to assist me. As for you, you will lead all the remaining Autobots, and you will be the one to resolve the weak resistance of those ants in Central Africa, West Africa, and South Africa!"
Bladewind seemed not to have heard the mention of the Decepticons and clone warriors that Sentinel Prime had just made, looking at him with burning eyes; the whole person looked so impatient.
"Leave it to me, Your Majesty!"
Bladewind guaranteed: "I will sweep away everything here in the shortest possible time; Africa and even Earth shall belong to us Autobots!"
"Go!"
"Yes!"
In New Iacon, Wheeljack looked at Drift and Bumblebee, who had quietly snuck into his Laboratory, his expression very ugly.
"Optimus Prime is here?"
He looked uneasily at the two Autobots in the Laboratory who had been easily knocked unconscious by Drift and Bumblebee, whom Sentinel Prime had sent to monitor him, his expression exceptionally uneasy.
"The Leader is here!"
Drift nodded, looked at him, and asked with a frown: "Sentinel Prime does not trust you; you are not safe here. Come leave with us first!"
"It's too late!"
Wheeljack smiled bitterly, just as he had said when Drift came to see him before preparing to leave New Iacon last time.
He knew too much about Sentinel Prime, especially the huge metal door that Sentinel Prime had personally ordered him to build over the past month.
"You all leave quickly, tell Optimus Prime, run... run as far as you can... it would be best to leave Earth forever... stay away from the war, and lead everyone to start a new life..."
Wheeljack knew that most of the Autobots who followed Optimus Prime away were Warriors who were tired of war.
Unfortunately, it was already too late for him to give a warning now.
Inside the Laboratory, an alarm suddenly rang out.
The expressions of Jiazhong and Drift changed drastically, and Wheeljack did not look well either.
"Stay here, and whatever you do, don't go out!"
After he calmly gave this instruction, he took the initiative to run outside.
Drift attempted to follow and protect him, but Jiazhong grabbed his hand.
He pointed at the two Autobots on the ground, "Let's leave first and go rendezvous with the Leader and the others!"
Drift frowned, but in the end, he nodded in agreement.
