Chapter 93: Return to Reality
Time flew by, and in the blink of an eye, another week passed.
This day, Sun Cheng was buried in his work inside the Laboratory, researching a small object—a metal insect that looked somewhat like a fly magnified a thousand times, only with a much more ferocious face.
"Now, say something for me to hear..."
"Master, Scout-type Decepticon—Cold Guard, reporting to you..."
In the spacious Laboratory, a cold, stiff sentence in Chinese suddenly rang out; the owner of the voice was precisely the metal insect in Sun Cheng's hand.
"Did it succeed?"
Sun Cheng stared intently at the little fellow in his hand, unable to stop an excited smile from appearing on his face.
This little fellow was his new discovery; its prototype was the micro Insect Scout equipped in the Frenzy Body, perhaps due to the special experience of having come into contact with the AllSpark alongside him once before.
The four Insect Scouts that had been stored somewhere within his body were unexpectedly transformed into four small Decepticons when he last took Attack to infiltrate the Sector 7 Base and touched the AllSpark for the second time.
The Battle of Las Vegas had been over for some time, and seeing as he had now stayed in the world of the Decepticons for nearly two months, Sun Cheng once again had the thought of returning to the real world.
However, his various immature actions in the real world last time, which nearly landed him in danger, had undoubtedly left a deep impression on him.
This time, Sun Cheng was going to be fully prepared before returning to the real world.
"Cold Guard, change form..."
After giving it an order, the insect-type Decepticon before him immediately obeyed and executed it.
Very quickly, its body began a series of precise movements until it finally transformed completely into an ultra-thin laptop.
"It succeeded..."
Sun Cheng clenched his fist tightly, his eyes unable to hide his excitement.
Ever since the thought of returning to the real world arose, he had stopped most of his work over these past few days; aside from continuing to try and absorb information from several AllSpark fragments, he had spent all his remaining time on the four small Decepticons.
Having digested some information regarding Cybertronian Script a while ago, Sun Cheng had thus mastered the technology to convert Earth's languages, images, data, and so on into simple Cybertronian Script and transmit them into Decepticon Cores; these four small Decepticons with decent scouting abilities were precisely his test subjects.
Thanks to the fact that Decepticons do not need to rest when energy is sufficient, Sun Cheng had enough time and energy to tinker.
As a result, within just one week, initial results were already visible.
With blue light flashing in his eyes, after Cold Guard transformed into an ultra-thin laptop, he suddenly sent out an intrusion data stream, invading its Core.
Perhaps not expecting Sun Cheng to suddenly attack, Hanwei was completely controlled by him without any resistance.
Once successful, Sun Cheng found all the Memory Data within its Core and erased it, while simultaneously controlling his own Core to input a brand-new set of memory and control programs he had already written into Hanwei's Core.
After finishing, he checked it over and over again several times, and only after confirming there were no omissions did he retract the intrusion data.
"... With these two safeguards in place, it should be fine now!"
Placing Hanwei, which was still maintaining the ultra-thin laptop form, back onto a piece of equipment in front of him, Sun Cheng looked at another Camera next to Hanwei, his mouth curving into an arc.
These two small Decepticons were the two safeguards he had prepared for the real world he was about to return to.
Sun Cheng had completely erased their self-awareness and rewritten a control program to store in their Cores.
In this way, although it caused the two of them to lose the ability to think for themselves, it also made it convenient for him to control them in reality.
Do not underestimate these two Decepticons; they were not a bit inferior to the Frenzy body that Sun Cheng had possessed when he first transmigrated.
Although the energy stored in their Cores was only three or four hundred points, it seemed that because they had come into contact with the AllSpark twice alongside Sun Cheng within his body, the body materials of these two small Decepticons were the same type of alloy shared from Sun Cheng's own body, and ordinary weapons could not destroy them.
Moreover, these two small Decepticons were both equipped with weapons.
As for whether he could bring them back to reality, Sun Cheng had never really worried about such a thing; he had even brought the Core of a predecessor back to reality before, so there was no reason he could bring the Core back but not the Decepticon.
His fingers tapped lightly on the bodies of the two small Decepticons, which had fallen into a dormant state and could only be awakened by inputting a special Awakening message.
Sun Cheng quickly cast his gaze to the side, at a Nokia N73 mobile phone that had just received an incoming signal.
He picked it up with two fingers and held it in front of him.
A flash of blue light appeared in Sun Cheng's eyes, and the call was immediately connected.
"... You kept me waiting a long time, Kewen..."
He spoke first, coldly, "I thought you would be faster!"
"I am only an Assistant director under the DNI (United States Director of National Intelligence), not the DNI director. Besides, the intelligence you want has a very high security clearance, far beyond what ordinary people can access!"
On the other end of the phone, Kewen's deliberately lowered voice came through immediately.
Sun Cheng gave a light hum, "And then? Where is the intelligence I wanted?"
"I got it, but how do I send it to you?"
"Use the phone I gave you to take pictures of the intelligence, then click on the emergency transmission function in the phone, lock the photos, and transmit them over..."
"Is it safe?"
"Single-line satellite transmission, the data is not monitored!"
"Alright then!"
After waiting for a moment, Sun Cheng heard the voice on the other side, "I've finished, pay attention to receiving it!"
Walking quickly to a Server in the Base, he performed some operations to enter the Yixing Gongsi database through a backdoor he had left previously. After quickly finding the few photos Kewen had transmitted, Sun Cheng enlarged them and looked at them carefully for a while before saying satisfiedly to the other side of the phone: "The items have been received, you did well. I shouldn't need to contact you again for the time being. Also, it's still the same account as before, two million dollars, that is your reward for this time."
After hanging up the phone, Sun Cheng's brow furrowed.
"Photos of White House Chief of Staff Telaosi meeting with Optimus Prime? It looks like the Autobots might have really reached some agreements with the United States government? But, what exactly is the NEST Project that Defense Minister Jon Voight proposed when President Cheney convened the United States National Security Council meeting at the Pentagon two days ago? Could it also be related to the Autobots?"
With Kewen's rank, it was clear that being able to find out this much was the limit.
Although the clouds of suspicion in Sun Cheng's heart grew thicker, he did not force him to inquire about more inside information; at least, it was not appropriate right now.
His alloy palm rubbed his chin, and Sun Cheng frowned and thought for a long while, still without much of a clue.
He simply cast these worries aside for the moment, grabbed the two Decepticons waiting for Awakening, and walked into a Laboratory nearby.
