Chapter 931: War (Please Subscribe)
"This day has finally arrived!"
Standing quietly on the plaza outside the New Iacon City Hall, Sentinel Prime gazed toward a pillar of light shooting into the sky in the southwest corner of the city, murmuring to himself.
How long this plan had been in gestation, even he could not remember.
Perhaps only a few hundred years, perhaps ten thousand, or perhaps it was born even earlier.
Sentinel Prime first learned of a planet called Earth back during the era of the Council of Ancients.
At the time, he was merely a puppet ruler sidelined by the nobility and the Council of Ancients; he only vaguely remembered that during a meeting held by the Council where he served as a mere ornament, someone mentioned that a Pathfinder had discovered a small planet in a remote corner of the galaxy that had nurtured carbon-based life.
And at that time, they named it—Blue.
Because on Earth, the majority of the surface was covered by oceans.
In the millions of years that followed, the history of Cybertron was magnificent and turbulent.
Sentinel Prime secretly funded the revolution, using rebellion to overthrow the rule of the nobility and the Council of Ancients, becoming a true emperor with absolute power.
Yet, before the throne of power was even warm, Megatron, whom he had personally fostered and who had become the military commander of Cybertron, dealt him a fatal blow.
Megatron won over a large group of nobles who had originally been defeated by them, and coerced almost the entire military, forming a faction named 【Decepticon】.
Subsequently, the civil war began; the flames of war ignited on the planet Cybertron and soon spread to all of their extraterrestrial colonies.
The endless civil war, which lasted for millions of years, ultimately dragged down both the Autobots and the Decepticons.
Seeing the scales of victory tipping bit by bit toward the Decepticons, Sentinel Prime, who could never tolerate his own failure, began to seek an opportunity to turn defeat into victory, or perhaps a way out.
He thought about many things, and pondered for a long time.
Finally, one day, from an inconspicuous corner of his memory, Sentinel Prime unearthed the life-bearing planet named 'Blue' that had been mentioned countless years ago.
Since then, he had no interest in personally commanding the Autobots.
Sentinel Prime handed over full military command of the Autobots to his student—Optimus Prime, turning all his energy toward the study of the 'Blue' planet.
And from that moment on, the entire Autobot faction had already been completely abandoned by him.
Sentinel Prime quietly dispatched trusted aides to locate and finally lock onto the position of this planet, and the exploration team he sent also discovered many more interesting things.
On this life-bearing planet, which was not even much larger than a satellite of Cybertron, not only were there many traces left behind by visiting Pathfinders from Cybertron.
But those footprints had existed since ancient times, and such visits had almost never been interrupted.
Even here, some legends regarding the Thirteen Primes had been left behind.
As a descendant of the Primus Clan personally founded by the Thirteen Primes, Sentinel Prime knew many secrets that other Cybertronians did not.
For instance, the legendary Thirteen Primes did indeed exist, and the Primus Clan was indeed the first batch of Cybertronian life created by the Thirteen Primes.
When Sentinel Prime was still the puppet ruler and Cybertronian civilization was still at its peak, he had once seen an elderly and wise old man in the Iacon library, which was so ancient that no one knew its history of origin.
That person called himself Alpha Trion, and it was said his only job was to record and preserve the history of Cybertron.
Alpha Trion had once given Sentinel Prime two prophecies; he prophesied that the puppet ruler would inevitably be betrayed, and prophesied that a brand-new race would inevitably be born because of Sentinel Prime.
That old man even left the special word 'Autobot' in his mind.
For some unclear and indescribable reason, the puppet ruler never visited that old man again.
By the time he thought of the old man again and attempted to visit him, the old man had already been gone for many years.
However, in that library, Alpha Trion had left Sentinel Prime a very strange image.
It was not until over a hundred years ago, when Sentinel Prime personally arrived in the Solar System, that he finally realized with a start that what that existence, suspected to be an ancient Prime, had left him was actually a star map of the Solar System.
"Solar System... Earth... what kind of secret is hidden here, that it would make generation after generation of Pathfinders constantly visit this place... and even leave behind the legends and tombs of the thirteen Primes here..."
With one thought after another surging in his mind, Sentinel Prime's gaze remained fixed on the southwest of New Iacon.
Feeling the strange fluctuations coming from the portal he had personally designed.
Sentinel Prime knew that Pandora's box had been opened by his own hands.
The Moon, beneath the Steel Dome.
Within this fortress built relying on a crater, squads of re-created Warriors hissed and roared, and some, short-tempered from the crowding, were already brawling due to friction.
Starscream and the others couldn't be bothered to pay attention to this scene; their gazes were fixed in unison on the massive alloy door before them.
Dozens of Workers were busy around the alloy door, and as they continued their operations, the azure light on the alloy door became increasingly dazzling.
"Master, the Earth coordinates have been locked, the portal can be opened!"
Following the report of one of the Decepticons who knelt, Starscream grinned, revealing a mouthful of ferocious, sharp teeth.
"Open it!"
At his command, strange electric arcs constantly jumped and flickered on the portal.
Soon, a transparent, water-like film appeared on the door.
Starscream looked at the portal, his eyes filled with fanaticism and excitement.
"It's about to begin!"
He looked at Blitzwing to the side; this guy had undergone a few days of treatment, and the injuries on his body from sniping Optimus Prime were already more than half healed.
Blitzwing nodded at him with a serious expression; this was not the time for them to argue or bicker.
Inside the Steel Dome, Megatron's cold and murderous voice rang out.
"Blitzwing, you will serve as the Commander for this operation! I have only one requirement: cooperate with Sentinel Prime to destroy any force that attempts to block us... but don't be too conspicuous, let Sentinel Prime take all the limelight..."
"We will push this puppet ruler onto the throne, and then stand behind the scenes watching him and Optimus Prime turn against each other... watching the Autobots fall into infighting..."
"Humans will from then on thoroughly hate Sentinel Prime and the Autobots... and we will be the final victors..."
"Do you hear me clearly?"
Blitzwing bowed respectfully, saluting Megatron, who was projecting his image inside the Steel Dome, "Yes, Lord Megatron. I guarantee the Task will be completed!"
Starscream also lowered his head slightly in salute, though he could not help but reveal a smile whose deep meaning no one could decipher.
"Then, depart!"
Following Megatron's command, inside the Steel Dome, countless Decepticon re-created Warriors roared toward the sky, sprinting toward that portal and charging in without hesitation.
