Chapter 939: Ninth Hundred and Sixteenth Chapter: Counterattack

~7 min read 1,267 words

Giza, an ancient Egyptian city separated from the old capital Cairo by the river, is only a few dozen kilometers away.

Optimus Prime pulled his Heavy Sword back from the corpse of a replicated warrior; he looked up at a special device hovering in the sky, his brow furrowed tightly.

"Wheeljack, what are these things?"

He transmitted what his own eyes saw to Wheeljack, who was standing guard in New Iacon hundreds of kilometers away, while asking him.

"I don't know either; this is a type of device designed personally by Sentinel Prime, and I am only responsible for manufacturing it."

Wheeljack's reply came quickly; although he possessed a certain level of combat capability, he did not enjoy fighting.

Therefore, he had volunteered to stay in New Iacon to study the portal designed by Sentinel Prime along the way.

"Sentinel Prime is the last scientist in the Autobot faction who still possesses Space Bridge technology. I suspect those devices are very likely some kind of equipment that provides interstellar coordinates or performs long-range cross-star-system transport!"

Upon hearing this, Optimus Prime looked at the hovering special devices in the sky with a mix of shock and anger, but after pondering for a moment, he still could not bring himself to destroy them.

He did not know what Sentinel Prime intended to use this stuff for.

If it were to transport Autobots from Cybertron to Earth, it would count as a great contribution.

But if it were to transport Decepticons, then trouble would follow.

However, based on Optimus Prime's understanding of his former teacher, he had long hated the Decepticons to the bone, so it was likely not that simple.

"Let's head to Cairo first and subdue the teacher before deciding!"

In the city of Giza, all Decepticon replicated warriors had been dealt with by Optimus Prime and his followers.

As for those Autobots loyal to Sentinel Prime, they were either knocked unconscious or controlled.

Even though there was no lack of opponents who had tried to kill them during the battle, Optimus Prime was unwilling to engage in fratricide; he would control them for now and consider how to deal with them after the trouble here was resolved.

"Prepare yourselves, we are setting off for Cairo immediately!"

Gazing toward the northeast, even though they were separated by dozens of kilometers, the rumbling of artillery and the sounds of explosions from the ongoing battle in the city could still be faintly heard.

Optimus Prime looked over there with concern; after being saved once again by the Matrix of Leadership, they had traveled north all the way from New Iacon.

Wheeljack knew some of Sentinel Prime's plans and had suggested that Sentinel Prime was likely going to attack Cairo.

Originally, Optimus Prime and his group had also intended to head straight for Cairo.

But plans could not keep up with changes; not long after leaving New Iacon, they encountered a squad of replicated warriors burning, killing, and destroying in Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia.

After dealing with them and traveling a short distance further north, they encountered even more replicated warriors causing destruction everywhere.

As a result, they stopped and went along the way, and the fighting never ceased.

Ultimately, by the time Optimus Prime and his group arrived in Giza, too much time had been delayed.

"After today, the days for the Autobots will likely be difficult!"

Looking with a heavy heart at this city destroyed by Decepticon replicated warriors, Optimus Prime knew that even if the Autobots had not participated much in the destruction of this city.

Because his teacher, Sentinel Prime, was the culprit who caused this catastrophe.

Therefore, after today, the Autobots would likely not only become enemies of humanity in Africa, finding every step difficult.

It was likely that even other human nations on Earth would view them as unstable factors threatening Earth's security.

From now on, if the Autobots wanted to seek any kind of cooperation with humans, I fear only vigilance and wariness would await them.

Optimus Prime's guess was correct; the Autobots were indeed now on the blacklist of major powers on Earth.

At this moment, on the Mediterranean Sea, within a joint fleet temporarily formed by dozens of warships of various types, several generals from European countries gathered together.

The major European powers—Britain, France, Italy, and Spain—still possessed their traditional spheres of influence in Africa.

Especially Britain and France, who, after noticing the Autobots' actions in the Beifei Diqu a month ago, had begun dispatching warships to the Mediterranean; this time, it could be considered taking precautions and preparing for the worst in advance.

Although Germany had been castrated, as the largest industrial nation in the European Union, it naturally had to make a statement.

They happened to have a warship visiting Greece, so they sent it over as well.

Greece knew that its mortal enemy, Turkey, had supported some allies in North Africa, so it was naturally happy to take the opportunity to chop off the arm extended by its mortal enemy, and its troop deployment was quite proactive.

This hastily formed joint fleet still had some strength.

"... We have reached a consensus with the Americans; it will take some time for the American fleet to arrive from Central Asia, but they have assured us that the Lemonnier Base and the U. S. troops stationed in Saudi Arabia will coordinate with us in our actions."

"The Russians have also proactively contacted us, expressing their willingness to dispatch warships to join the joint fleet, and the attitude from the Far East is also very proactive..."

"This invasion of African nations by aliens can be said to be a very dangerous provocation..."

"We believe that we cannot blindly make concessions..."

"Downing Street and the Elysee Palace have both sent special envoys to Trindade Island to meet with that faction of aliens who are still relatively friendly to us humans..."

"They provided us with some very ominous intelligence: the alien mastermind who led the turmoil in Africa this time is the previous Leader of the Autobots—Sentinel Prime."

"According to the speculations of Frenzy and the others, the Autobots under Sentinel Prime's rule have very likely reached some kind of cooperation with the Decepticon Legion, and perhaps they have even made an evil agreement to partition the Earth!"

"Therefore, our nations should all the more cast aside previous grudges and work together to stop these evil aliens from coveting the Earth!"

"Cairo cannot wait any longer; the President of our country has authorized me with the power to act at my discretion. Since everyone is in agreement, we should take action, shouldn't we!"

"Then, let's begin!"

After reaching a consensus, the joint fleet, which had been lingering on the Mediterranean Sea for a while, began to move toward Egyptian waters.

The U. S. Air Force stationed in Djibouti and Saudi Arabia also began emergency refueling and loading of ammunition after receiving hints from their allies, waiting at any time to take off and conduct airstrikes against the Cybertronians in Egypt.

And the joint fleet on the Mediterranean, after rapidly replenishing their missiles, under the coordination of satellites, saw missile after missile fired from the warships of various European countries, beginning to fly toward the old capital of Cairo hundreds of kilometers away.

According to the intelligence they had investigated, most of the Cybertronians in Africa had begun to gather toward Cairo, although some were also raiding south all the way toward South Africa.

But they were beyond reach there, so they could only prepare to resolve the situation in Cairo first before considering anything else.
