Chapter 940: Taking the Field
The missiles whistled, trailing long tails behind them.
Although the missile models equipped on the warships of the various nations in the joint fleet were not exactly the same, they still arrived over Cairo at roughly the same time, one after another.
Sentinel Prime looked up at the incoming missiles in the distance, a cold sneer appearing on his face.
He reached out to soothe the somewhat restless Autobots, "Don't move, let the Decepticon Cannon Fodder handle it."
Sentinel Prime's cooperation with Megatron had been a mutual calculation from the very beginning.
As for what Megatron was calculating, he wasn't unable to guess; it was nothing more than the Autobots or perhaps all of Cybertron. Vision determines one's scope, and his scope was still a bit small.
But Megatron could never have imagined what he, Sentinel Prime, was calculating!
"You might think I'm calculating against you, Megatron, or perhaps the entire Decepticon Legion... unfortunately, you were wrong from the start..."
Muttering to himself, Sentinel Prime then turned his attention back to those missiles in the sky.
His gaze shifted toward the southwest, his brow furrowing slightly.
Not long ago, a team Sentinel Prime had dispatched sent him some not-so-good news.
That naive student of his—Optimus Prime—was actually still alive, and his condition didn't look like he had been injured at all.
"Even the rusting caused by my Cosmic Rust Gun can be reversed? The Matrix of Leadership really is extraordinary..."
Optimus Prime had once presented the Matrix of Leadership to him, hoping Sentinel Prime would safeguard this holy relic of Cybertronian civilization.
But Sentinel Prime had ultimately refused!
Because when Optimus Prime handed the Matrix of Leadership to him, he also informed Sentinel Prime that the magical energy within the Matrix of Leadership was nearly exhausted after successively resurrecting a large number of fallen Autobots.
He had verified it himself, so he simply did a favor and returned it to Optimus Prime.
As it turned out, even Sentinel Prime hadn't expected that this Matrix of Leadership would save Optimus Prime one more time at a critical moment.
Calculating the time, Optimus Prime and those Autobots loyal to him should be arriving at this city of Cairo soon.
The arrogant Sentinel Prime had never really taken his naive student to heart.
"I hope you don't fail to appreciate what's good for you. The Matrix of Leadership can save you once or twice, but that doesn't mean it can protect you forever..."
After a cold snort in his heart, Sentinel Prime suddenly frowned and looked to his left.
Accompanied by a burst of flame, Blitzwing descended rapidly onto this skyscraper.
"My lord... how much longer until the portal can be opened? The humans' counterattack has arrived. According to our calculations, these missiles were launched from the sea. I will send people to deal with them, but we cannot spare the attention to protect you here!"
Sentinel Prime's face turned cold, and as he looked at the somewhat sarcastic Blitzwing, a hint of killing intent had already emerged.
"Scram, just go do what you are supposed to do. As for my decisions, you are not qualified to question them!"
Blitzwing's face turned angry, but as soon as his gaze met Sentinel Prime's, he immediately calmed down.
Before the operation, Megatron had warned him repeatedly that Sentinel Prime needed to be guarded against, but not to provoke him lightly.
The strength of this former King of Primus had already made the Decepticons suffer greatly during the Cybertronian Civil War.
Facing this person, even if Megatron were here, he would not dare to provoke him excessively.
Blitzwing quickly realized this point, but he didn't want to lose face.
He snorted coldly, then jumped into mid-air, transformed back into an F-22 Fighter Jet, and quickly disappeared into the horizon.
Leaving behind Sentinel Prime, who watched him with a sneer, though he soon looked away.
"Soon... just a little more time..."
On the Atlantic Ocean, a fleet rode the wind and waves.
Several Decepticons stood on the fleet, looking at the boundless ocean; no one knew what Sun Cheng was thinking right now.
Perhaps it was because they were motionless, just like ornaments on a ship.
A few seagulls flew around them, attempting to land on them.
And just at this moment, Sun Cheng moved, immediately scaring the seagulls away.
"Why, do you think we shouldn't have stepped in to help the Autobots?"
He looked at Thunderwing and asked with a smile.
The fleet under his feet was composed of Hailishi and four Arsenal Ships.
Swimming in the seabed around the fleet were 8 Yasen Modified-class attack nuclear submarines.
And on the five warships, there were currently gathered one quasi-Leader, three Elite Warriors, and twenty-seven Advanced Warriors.
It couldn't be said that this was the entirety of Sun Cheng's main force, but it did gather nearly half of the combat power he currently had on Earth.
And at this moment, their destination was none other than Africa, separated from South America by the Atlantic Ocean.
Sun Cheng had not come to support the Autobots or the humans.
His sudden mobilization this time was, firstly, to settle the score with the Decepticon Legion for taking a swipe at his side not long ago.
Secondly, he wanted to cut off another arm of the Decepticon Legion.
Yes, Sun Cheng had already set his sights on Blitzwing, who had escaped from his hands a few months ago.
He had already experienced the power of a Triple Changer before.
If Astrotrain hadn't been too careless back then, let alone wanting to finish off the opponent, he himself might even have been taken away by Astrotrain.
And with the main force of the Decepticon Legion led by Shockwave about to arrive, rather than passively waiting for them to come and settle accounts with him later, he preferred to take the initiative and cut off a few more of their arms while they still didn't have the ability to finish him off completely.
Only by making the Decepticon Legion truly hurt, truly wounded, and truly afraid.
Will they use their brains a little next time before they want to target him, and calculate whether they can afford the price.
Thunderwing nodded, "Yes, I think letting the humans, the Decepticon Legion, and the Autobots fight to the death is the best outcome for us!"
Sun Cheng did not deny it; he actually wanted to do just that.
"But have you considered whether the power currently held by the humans and Optimus Prime really has the ability to resolve the situation in Africa?"
Thunderwing fell silent and looked at the four-sided light wall projected in front of him.
The first light wall showed dozens of warships from powerful European nations on the Mediterranean Sea, currently launching cruise missiles toward the ancient capital of Cairo.
On the second light wall, dozens of special devices in the city of Cairo flew up, emitting beams of blinding blue light.
The third light wall displayed the Red Sea, where a fleet flying the flag of the United States was riding the waves, its target seemingly pointing straight to Egypt.
On the fourth light wall, in central-southern Africa, a team of Autobots was in a certain city, engaged in a firefight with human troops.
Sun Cheng also followed his gaze, a smile appearing on his face.
"After the split of the Autobots, unless those few human nations with nuclear weapons loosen their grip and enter the fray, we are likely already the force with the greatest war potential on this Earth, and it is time for us to step onto the stage and show our faces."
PS:
Apologies, guests came to my home this morning.
I couldn't update at noon today, so this chapter, which should have been delivered at three o'clock, is a little late.
