Chapter 30: Fugaku Is Forced to Compromise, Shisui Alone Struggles to Negotiate!

~7 min read 1,247 words

Izanami?!

Upon hearing the ability of this dōjutsu, everyone’s faces turned grim.

Even—furious!

At this moment, their anger was genuine; after all, this room contained three pairs of Mangekyō Sharingan.

Even Fangyan across all of Uchiha history, this was one of its most glorious moments.

But, unfortunately.

These three pairs of Mangekyō Sharingan were not aligned at all—two of them stood on the enemy’s side.

Heartbreaking!

Shisui trembled violently, staring in shock at Uchiha Jin.

Fugaku felt the same.

While others were stunned by the opening of their Mangekyō and the terror of Shisui’s Izanami, he himself was shocked by Jin’s utter ruthlessness.

Too terrifying!

This guy clearly adopted a “fish dies, net breaks” stance—knowing he couldn’t save the entire Uchiha clan, he’d rather save none at all; if the village or he himself dared use force to break the stalemate, he’d become a missing-nin and vanish into the shadows.

Remember, Konoha can’t escape!

If he were born in Huājiā, he’d understand that Uchiha Jin’s actions were no different from nuclear deterrence.

But.

If these actions merely stunned him, then Uchiha Jin’s threat to him was what truly filled him with dread, fury—and above all, helplessness.

Though he didn’t trust the village as much as Shisui did, his wife and children were his weakness!

He couldn’t protect his family twenty-four hours a day; if he truly chose to break ties with Uchiha Jin, he had no doubt Jin would kill his wife and children without hesitation.

So, sigh!

With a helpless sigh, he finally spoke: “I am the Uchiha clan head—I will not move against the Uchiha.”

“I will not interfere in the village’s affairs with the Uchiha. In fact, if Itachi wish, I can transfer the clan head position to Itachi at any time—so long as Itachi never disturb my wife and children.”

And yet.

Though others were stunned, Uchiha Jin remained calm.

As a transmigrator, he knew Fugaku’s life had been one of constant compromise—he cared only for his family.

He had struck Fugaku’s fatal weakness; Fugaku’s retreat was only natural.

So.

He simply nodded slightly, then spoke calmly: “I guarantee the safety of your family. Even if the Uchiha clan is eventually exterminated, I will ensure your wife and children evacuate—I’ve prepared an escape route in the Land of Snow!”

“Is that so? I see!” Fugaku, startled, then understood: “Then thank Itachi!”

After speaking,

he waved his hand dismissively and walked out.

After all, he had long been nothing but a figurehead clan head; now that he had finally shed the crushing burden, he felt lighter inside.

He even thought this was better!

No longer needing to worry about clan affairs meant more time to spend with his children.

Besides, Jin had already prepared an escape route; he’d heard of the Land of Snow—it was far from the ninja world’s mainland, and Konoha wouldn’t chase them that far, even in madness.

But Shisui was dumbfounded—what the hell was he supposed to do now?

Uchiha Jin had already seized control of the entire Uchiha clan, and even the sole clan head, Fugaku, had surrendered. How could he, alone, oppose Uchiha Jin and the whole clan?

His lips curled in bitterness: “Jin… can’t we talk about this?”

“Who said we can’t talk?” Uchiha Jin, calm: “I’m very willing to talk!”

“So long as the village doesn’t target the Uchiha, the Uchiha will never initiate trouble—but can Itachi make Danzō stop hunting the Uchiha?”

“Why have all clan members flocked to my radical faction? Isn’t it because Itachi’ve done nothing? Itachi keep shouting about integration into the village, claiming the Hokage will solve everything…”

“But what’s the reality?”

“Clan members who die on the battlefield receive no compensation, not even a place on the memorial stone.”

“Our ancestral lands seized, our people monitored and hunted…”

“At first, the Uchiha demanded the Hokage position—it was a pre-village agreement. Then they reneged and refused to let the Uchiha become Hokage.”

“The Uchiha endured!”

“Later, the Uchiha asked for rights—the village still refused. The Uchiha endured again.”

“Now the Uchiha only want to live—but the village still won’t allow it. Where else can the Uchiha retreat to?”

“Must the entire clan be wiped out before the village is satisfied?”

“But, sorry!”

“I can’t do it!”

“Even if the Uchiha die, we’ll take the village down with us!”

Shisui fell silent, unable to respond.

Though he wanted to believe the Hokage could change everything, Uchiha Jin spoke truths he couldn’t deny—at the very least, he couldn’t stop Danzō’s hunts.

He once thought the Uchiha were too extreme, but now, hearing Jin’s words, he realized the Uchiha had retreated far too much already.

Where else could they retreat?

His head throbbed; he finally blurted: “But resistance is meaningless—it only weakens the village’s strength. What if we both suffer heavy losses? How will we face the other villages?”

“Why should I choose?” Uchiha Jin, expression unchanged: “This time, I want the village to choose!”

“For Konoha’s stability, can’t the village make one concession?”

Shisui froze—let the village choose?

He had only ever imagined the Uchiha retreating—he’d never once considered the village making a concession.

But thinking about it… it made sense.

The Uchiha have retreated so far—why can’t the village retreat one step?

He truly had no other options.

Jin had unified the Uchiha; even Fugaku had lost heart. Stopping him was impossible—he was only one man.

He wasn’t Itachi—he still had loyalty to his clan.

So he decided to first see what Uchiha Jin intended to do, then decide his next move.

At the very least,

he must ensure stability between the village and the Uchiha—even if it was fragile!

After long silence, he spoke solemnly: “I want to know your next plan. I want to know what Itachi truly intend to do.”

“Your death,” Uchiha Jin said.

Shisui blinked: “What? My death?”

Uchiha Jin’s expression remained calm, his eyes deepening: “Yes. I’m waiting for Itachi to die.”

“If I’m correct, Itachi’ve already informed the Konoha high command, haven’t Itachi?”

“Izanami’s power is too terrifying—anyone would feel chills. If Itachi think carefully, Itachi’ll realize Hiruzen Sarutobi dares not face Itachi alone, and even when meeting Itachi, he avoids eye contact.”

“Hiruzen won’t act against Itachi—he must maintain his image of righteousness. But he has Danzō as his black glove.”

“Danzō’s body is infused with Hashirama’s cells—he desperately needs the Uchiha’s Yin chakra to suppress them, not to mention his own fear of Izanami and his desire to possess it.”

“Danzō dreams of becoming Hokage; with Izanami, he could manipulate Hiruzen into stepping down.”

“He will definitely move against Itachi. And since Itachi trust the village’s leadership too much, Itachi’ve made no preparations—Itachi’ll be killed, and it won’t be hard to understand why.”

“Hiruzen knows this perfectly—he’s counting on Danzō.”

“If Danzō succeeds, Hiruzen can control him; if Danzō fails, it has nothing to do with him. As Hokage, dealing with a hidden vermin like Danzō is easy.”

“Don’t think I’m warning Itachi!”

“I know the Uchiha’s stubbornness and extremism—Itachi won’t believe me even if I say this. I always resolve matters through open strategy.”

“Your death is crucial to me—it removes one of my greatest fears and gives me a pretext to strike the village.”

“Whoever touches a bloodline limit dies. If I use your death as an excuse, the other ninja clans will sit back and watch.”

“My next move? I’m waiting for Itachi, Shisui, to die.”

“Clear enough? Understandable enough?”
