Chapter 110: 106 Flowers, Trees, Sky, Breeze, Clouds, Sun

~6 min read 1,020 words

Agamus heard someone call his name and instinctively turned around.

He looked at He Zhi, who had just called out, and saw his face darken suddenly.

“What’s Agamus? Counselor He Zhi, who are you looking for? Is there such a person here?” Agamus quickly recovered and hurried to justify his earlier reaction.

Counselor He Zhi recalled the intelligence Qi Ming had provided and pressed further: “Are you too cowardly to own up? Useless piece. No wonder 【Raeliran】 died!”

Hearing his late wife’s name, Agamus froze.

The next instant, he roared in a frenzy, nearly losing his mind: “Bastard, I won’t let you speak her name!”

Counselor He Zhi’s heart sank sharply… This reaction proved every word Qi Ming had said was true!

Counselor He Zhi was not intimidated by Agamus’s rage; his expression turned grim: “So you admit you’re Agamus? Why did you do this?”

Agamus: “If humans hadn’t explored the cosmos, Raeliran wouldn’t have died!”

He Zhi was stunned: “It was the Sphia that killed your wife—shouldn’t you be seeking revenge on them?”

“The Sphia’s annihilation was the will of the universe!” Agamus roared:

“If only that day hadn’t met humans! If only humans hadn’t crash-landed on Bazit Star that day!”

“The Sphia would’ve… I would’ve…”

“Humanity’s sin was bringing the Sphia to Bazit. My sin was blind faith in science!”

“And I came to this era to cleanse all sin!”

This monstrous demeanor left Counselor He Zhi speechless: “To you, this is a parallel universe—you can’t change the future you came from.”

Qi Ming had said Agamus used a device called the “Chronometer” to arrive in this parallel timeline.

Even if he destroyed Earth in this world, his original world’s dangers wouldn’t vanish, and his dead wife still couldn’t be revived.

Agamus, wracked with agony, clutched his head and growled: “Flowers, trees, sky, breeze, clouds, sun, rainbow, ocean, beach, forest, pebbles, sand, earth…”

Counselor He Zhi: “?”

Is this idiot insane?

Suddenly, sharp-eyed Counselor He Zhi noticed Agamus’s hand secretly reaching into his chest.

He snapped to attention and without hesitation drew his pistol and fired.

“Bang!” Blood sprayed—Agamus screamed, clutching his right arm.

“Be still! Tell me—did you tamper with Jinguqiao? Did you leave backdoors?” He Zhi hissed.

Agamus said nothing, only glared at Counselor He Zhi with the eyes of a wolf, no trace of his former refined, intellectual demeanor.

“Won’t talk, huh? Fine. Once we get you to interrogation, I guarantee you’ll say everything.” Counselor He Zhi chambered another round.

He prepared to fire again, to render Agamus completely incapacitated.

“Click!” The next instant, the space behind Agamus shattered like glass, sucking him violently inward.

“It’s the Abora!” Counselor He Zhi gasped and instantly raised his pistol, firing at Agamus’s forehead.

But it was too late—the space sealed shut again, the bullet missed, and Counselor He Zhi’s face turned ashen.

…………………………

“What, he escaped?” Qi Ming was startled.

Counselor He Zhi explained what had happened, his expression equally grim: “I was planning to take him alive, to extract valuable intel—but I didn’t expect…”

Qi Ming nodded: “I understand—I’d have done the same.” The Abora rescuing Agamus fit seamlessly into this scene from the original Ultraman Decker plot.

“It’s still acceptable. After such a blow, Agamus won’t cause trouble for a while.”

“At least we won’t have to split our attention fighting him while dealing with Bogaru and the others. As long as the timing is staggered, it’s fine.”

“Inform other nations of Agamus’s identity—don’t give him a chance to rise again.”

He Zhi nodded, then hesitated before asking: “Qi Ming… how did you know about Professor Chao Ying… how did you know Agamus’s true identity?”

This level of intelligence was unthinkable.

The more he thought about it, the more chilling it became—if Agamus’s plot had succeeded, Earth would’ve suffered catastrophic damage, TPC’s reputation would’ve collapsed, and he himself would’ve been forced out.

Qi Ming countered: “Don’t you have eyes among the dove faction?”

Counselor He Zhi stared in disbelief: “Can fortune-telling really reveal details like this? It’s practically omniscient.”

Qi Ming shrugged, changing the subject: “Just bury Jinguqiao. Don’t try to control things beyond your comprehension.”

Counselor He Zhi sighed in resignation: “There’s no choice…”

Though he bitterly resented all his prior efforts being wasted and the dream of “autonomous defense” without Ultramen shattered, he wouldn’t knowingly walk into a tiger’s den.

Qi Ming continued: “Better spend that energy building more 【Superweapon R1】 missiles—to deter would-be invaders.”

He Zhi’s eyes lit up: “You support restarting production of 【Superweapon R1】? But your Team Leader Zhuxing…”

Qi Ming cut him off: “He’s him. I’m me. To me, there’s a vast difference between having no sword and having a sword but refusing to use it.”

In this world, the major events of Ultraman Seven had largely occurred.

The Kieron Star incident from 【Superweapon R1】 was no exception:

Due to repeated alien invasions, humanity developed a planet-destroying missile called 【Superweapon R1】.

Two years ago, a prototype of this weapon was scheduled for a test launch at Kieron Star, whose surface temperature reached 260 degrees—deemed incapable of sustaining life.

Soon after, the Superweapon R1 was test-fired, reducing Kieron Star to debris.

But Kieron Star did harbor life—a surviving organism, mutated by radiation, grew into a colossal monster and flew to Earth for revenge.

That was the Kieron Star Beast.

Its breath emitted gray smoke laced with R1’s radiation; if it spread, it would destroy Tokyo and force humanity to suffer its own consequences.

Zhuxing had no choice—he transformed and fought, finally breaking off the Kieron Star Beast’s right arm and slitting its throat to kill it.

Afterwards, the weapon's developer, Dr. Segawa, resigned under pressure, and TPC halted all superweapon research.

“The Kieron Star Beast truly had bad luck… but your stance was too weak.”

“The tragedy happened because of a detection error—why blame the weapon’s development?”

“Should the five permanent UNSC members abandon nuclear weapons because of their side effects? Should they ‘choose pants over nukes’?”

“Guqiao was right—defense requires powerful weapons. It’s necessary.”

At that moment, Counselor He Zhi felt he’d found a kindred spirit.
