Chapter 287: 283 Aizen Makoto

~12 min read 2,226 words

Tokyo region.

Nexus descended here, surveying the shattered ruins around him, realizing the terrifying power of the enemy.

He immediately switched to his Youth form, adopting his strongest stance to meet the assault.

Just as Hoshi Jun prepared to unleash the Meta Field, the Godelle alien tore through the air and charged forward.

"Crash!"

The moment the metal pincer arm clashed with the silver wrist guard, Hoshi Jun realized something was wrong—the Youth form's Nexus armor dented instantly under the impact, and the shockwave shattered every pane of glass within a hundred meters.

He staggered backward, each step cracking the ground in spiderweb patterns.

Such immense strength!

Before he could steady himself, he was forced to block the Godelle alien's second strike.

The alien swept its left pincer horizontally; Nexus barely raised his arm in defense—and the defense shattered instantly.

"Crash!" The pincer's momentum carried through, tearing a trail of brilliant sparks across Nexus's chest.

Nexus flew like a severed kite, smashing through three buildings before embedding itself into the load-bearing wall of the fourth.

Debris rained down; as Hoshi Jun struggled to rise, shadow engulfed him—the crystal on the Godelle alien's chest had charged with destructive energy.

"Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!"

Purple destruction beams rained like a storm. The first shattered the remaining building structure; the second obliterated Nexus, slamming him to the ground.

The third and fourth followed in quick succession; the entire district melted into a molten pit under relentless bombardment, the heat turning concrete into glass.

"Ding-dong—ding-dong—ding-dong." Less than half a minute into battle, Nexus's Color Timer began flashing.

Hoshi Jun was fighting wounded, his initial state far from optimal, and the Godelle alien's assault was too terrifying—Nexus was completely suppressed.

Meanwhile, the Armarant messenger, who had previously appeared in the Victory Sanctuary and resembled a human woman, arrived on the street.

"Still trying to struggle after being beaten like this? How utterly stubborn."

She gazed at Nexus, still attempting to rise but unable to resist the relentless purple beams, her face twisted with satisfaction.

She drew a deep breath of the smoky air—the ruined buildings, the cries of humans—these things were utterly beautiful.

Godelle alien, let humanity pay back its blood debt with blood—destroy everything they have!

After the Godelle alien cleansed the surface like a gardener pruning weeds, the Kirieledians would drive it away and recognize Armarant's legitimacy in the name of divinity.

This perfect script—let it open with the death of the Ultra warrior who once protected humanity!

"Ding-dong—ding-dong—ding-dong." Nexus's body lay buried under molten rubble; the Color Timer's alarm pierced the smoke like the heartbeat of a dying man.

"I have to… move." Hoshi Jun clenched his teeth, trembling arms pushing his body upward.

If I fall here, one city after another, countless lives, will be destroyed by this thing.

I don't want to see any more innocent people consumed by war!

"Dark Ubel Flame Sword!" Just as Hoshi Jun prepared to gather his last strength, a familiar voice came from the sky.

A brilliant ring of fire descended from above; the swift Godelle alien immediately raised its massive pincer arm to block.

"Crash!" The pincer arm shattered instantly—a black giant descended from the heavens.

It's Dark Ubel!

"Sorry, I was just finishing preparations—came a bit late." Dark Ubel pulled Nexus upright; Aizen Makoto's voice brimmed with uncontainable excitement.

Hoshi Jun: "Preparations?"

Aizen Makoto: "Yes. Team member Qi Ming said this guy's tough, so to temporarily boost combat power… I took drugs!"

Hoshi Jun: "?"

Aizen Makoto: "After three vials, the bandages came off without a single sting—I feel full of strength, no fear, no extra emotions, just pure, exhilarating battle!"

Hoshi Jun: "???"

He'd thought it was just stimulants—but now it seemed to be more than that.

As they spoke, the Godelle alien's severed arm writhed—and instantly regenerated.

Dark Ubel, with his pointed head and odd tone: "This must be the regeneration ability Team member Qi Ming mentioned. Impressive."

"But now, I'm even stronger—I'm invincible!"

"You can block Dark Ubel Flame Sword—can you block my Supreme Sacred Sword?!"

Hoshi Jun warned: "Watch out—its attack intervals are extremely short; it won't give you time to charge."

He feared Aizen Makoto would repeat his earlier mistake against Impaler—launching a big move only for the enemy to dodge it effortlessly.

He himself hadn't recovered yet; he couldn't cover for him.

Dark Ubel: "Don't worry! How could I possibly lose twice in the same way? I'll immobilize it first, then unleash the finishing blow!"

Hearing this, Hoshi Jun exhaled slightly—he sensed Aizen Makoto was merely overexcited, not irrational.

The Godelle alien slowly advanced toward Dark Ubel, radiating crushing pressure.

Dark Ubel met it head-on; the distance between them shrank rapidly.

The next instant…

Dark Ubel swung his heavy sword; the Godelle alien swept its pincer horizontally.

Close-quarters combat erupted!

But after only a few exchanges, Dark Ubel's heavy sword was knocked from his grip, embedding itself in the ground nearby.

"Looks like my swordsmanship still needs improvement—but I won't be as clumsy as before against the Slan aliens, rushing to retrieve my sword and leaving myself open."

"Even without that sword, I can still defeat you—let's fistfight! Let's see who lands more blows faster!"

"Hmm, not a single pain—this battle is absolutely exhilarating! Hehehehehe!"

Dark Ubel punched the Godelle alien while emitting an otherworldly laugh.

Hoshi Jun stared, dumbfounded.

What kind of drugs did he take? Did they make his spinal cord replace his brain?

He's gone completely insane!

The Godelle alien remained silent throughout, its attacks and defenses precise—like a cruel, mechanical killer.

Dark Ubel, meanwhile, bounced and leaped like a monkey, occasionally emitting nonsensical shrieks, then swinging wild, unstructured punches.

This scene… Dark Ubel's behavior felt more like that of a bizarre, chaotic monster.

But undeniably, Dark Ubel's physical strength was immense—even without his sword, he held his own against the Godelle alien.

Seeing this, the Godelle alien crossed its arms before its head; Aizen Makoto immediately yelled:

"Hahaha, I know what you're planning—I've got your intel!"

"You're about to use the skill called 【Blinding Flash】—release blinding light to disrupt vision and strike while I'm blinded, right?!"

"Trying to blind me? That's a low trick—but I won't let you succeed, hahaha! I'll just close my eyes!"

With that, Dark Ubel's eyes dimmed.

Hoshi Jun: "???"

The Godelle alien froze, its raised arms slowly lowering.

He'd thought his own obsession with slaughter and destruction was pure—but apparently, this planet harbored something even more extreme.

He abandoned 【Blinding Flash】 and swung his pincer arm again.

Dark Ubel was blasted away, crushing a building under his weight.

"You… canceled your move? That's not fair." Dark Ubel shrieked. The Godelle alien said nothing, resuming its relentless barrage of purple destruction beams, pouring them continuously onto Dark Ubel.

Moonlight Infinite Combo!

"Don't dream—I don't feel pain anymore, I can still fight… AAAAAAHHH!"

When a purple destruction beam struck Dark Ubel's head, Aizen Makoto's dazed mind snapped awake.

The drug's effect had worn off.

"WAAAAAAH!" Dark Ubel let out a piercing scream—completely unlike his earlier manic laughter.

He curled up as if electrocuted, clutching his head with both hands.

"It hurts… it all hurts…" Aizen Makoto's voice echoed through Ultra telepathy, each word trembling: "Ribs… left arm… and my old injury… it hurts so much!!!"

"Ding-dong—ding-dong—ding-dong." Dark Ubel's Color Timer began flashing too.

"Don't give up!" From afar, Nami Nishijo, Yamada, and Kishida arrived in two Jet Fire One units.

Jet Fire Two was still under repair after being shot down by the Kirieledians—they had no choice but to come in Jet Fire One.

"Shhh!" Both Jet Fire Ones fired simultaneously; their Spike Cannons struck the Godelle alien.

The alien stiffened slightly, then retaliated with a rapid burst of purple destruction beams.

"Crash!" The beams were too fast—even Nami Nishijo couldn't dodge. Both Jet Fire Ones were hit, smoking and crashing.

But this gave the two Ultras precious breathing room.

Taking advantage of the Godelle alien's shift in focus, Aizen Makoto retrieved the Dark Sacred Sword.

As the Godelle alien turned back toward him after eliminating the two Jet Fire Ones, Dark Ubel crawled and rolled behind several buildings.

Xiang Yuan Long, arriving with the tank squad: "… "

In the past, he would have harshly condemned and scolded such behavior—using buildings as cover.

But now he didn't. He understood.

The Godelle alien was terrifying—its power exceeded Dinotaru's by more than tenfold; the gap between enemy and ally was glaringly obvious.

And this Dark Ubel, appearing like a lunatic who'd rushed into battle without even taking his medication—he couldn't be blamed for his poor performance; he still sensed the man's indomitable spirit.

Aizen Makoto: "Mr. Hoshi."

Nexus, too, had taken cover behind several abandoned buildings; Hoshi Jun: "Are you awake now?"

Aizen Makoto: "I'm awake, but my body is aching again, too weak to move—this feels impossible. We really can't beat it."

Hoshi Jun: "But we can't give up. There are hundreds of thousands behind us in the city district."

Though both were in terrible condition, battered and bleeding, the two Ultras still had no intention of surrendering.

They would keep resisting. They would keep fighting.

Hoshi Jun: "Where's Qi Ming?"

Aizen Makoto: "There are two other monsters destroying the city on the other side. He said he'd deal with them first, then come to support us—told us to hold them off for now."

Hoshi Jun: "Then lure it into the Meta Field. Cover me."

With that, he drew a deep breath, summoning his last strength to activate the Meta Field.

The Goldster alien immediately sensed the spatial distortion—it increased its output frequency, reducing the building to rubble in an instant. The attack was about to interrupt the Meta Field's activation once more.

Dark Ubel raised the Dark Sacred Sword, holding it before Nexus like a shield.

Finally, the Meta Field was fully activated!

Golden particles spread outward, pulling Nexus, Dark Ubel, and the Goldster alien into the subspace.

"Is it over? It doesn't feel finished," thought Sōbara Ryū.

Suddenly, he spotted a familiar figure standing on the street.

"You're… Dr. Sanada Ryōsuke, aren't you? Doctor, what are you doing here? This place is dangerous!" Sōbara Ryū rushed forward to warn him.

Sanada Ryōsuke slowly turned his head, a flicker of red light passing through his eyes:

"Even though I've been continuously absorbing electricity, this body is still losing control."

"But there's no choice—before I possessed it, its body was already ruined by Abolon cells."

"Still, it doesn't matter. I just need another vessel."

Sōbara Ryū felt something was wrong: "Losing control? Possession? Abolon cells? What are you talking about, Doctor?"

In the next instant, a creature resembling a facehugger emerged from Sanada Ryōsuke's back and lunged straight onto Sōbara Ryū's face.

It was the true form of Cerebro.

"Ugh…!" Sōbara Ryū realized too late—he couldn't dodge. After a brief struggle, he collapsed to the ground.

When Sōbara Ryū regained movement, his posture was grotesquely twisted, terrifying like an alien.

The body was no longer controlled by Sōbara Ryū—it was now Cerebro.

Sanada Ryōsuke also lay on the ground, unconscious, green electrical currents crawling over his body.

Sōbara Ryū searched his body, took several items, and immediately left the scene.

Half a minute later, the fallen Sanada Ryōsuke opened his eyes.

"What happened to me? Why am I here… egh!" Sanada Ryōsuke had barely regained consciousness when he descended into frenzy.

Three months after injecting Abolon cells, his body had reached its limit—and would now be consumed and mutated by the Abolon cells themselves!

Sanada Ryōsuke's body rapidly swelled, growing into a fifty-meter-tall monster.

A triangular head extended three sharp, chitinous horns; his humanoid torso was covered in arthropod-like carapace; his arms were abnormally thick, ending in razor-sharp hooked claws.

Alien Evolution Monster 【Abolon】, appearing.

Another monster began ravaging Earth!

………………………………

Meanwhile, Qi Ming as Ultraman Tiga wielded the Composite Sword, driving the mutated Muruchi into retreat.

Qi Ming struck his enemy while thinking.

"It must be the Eternal Core—after all, this thing seems to have a particular fondness for Tiga."

"In the original series, when Karimira took even a bit of its power, it went berserk and nearly destroyed the universe—only Tiga's calming presence could stabilize it."

"But where exactly is it?"

Qi Ming believed that if his Tiga could obtain the Eternal Core's power as in the original series and ascend to 【Eternal Shining Tiga】, he would surely reach A-rank power—and could cleave the Goldster alien apart in a single blow.

Yet so far, he could only vaguely sense the Eternal Core's presence, unable to pinpoint its location.

Then again, according to the original Tiga series, only Yūren—or someone who inherited her bloodline—could open the path to the Eternal Core's location.

Only she could safely extract fragments of the Eternal Core's power to amplify an Ultra. Anyone else touching it would trigger catastrophic consequences.

"Looks like this can't be rushed. I'll use the more stable Gaia SV instead." With that thought, Qi Ming unleashed the Zepellion Beam again, reducing the mutated Muruchi to ash.

All enemies eliminated. Time to aid Hoshi Jun and Aizen Makoto.

——————————

I'm stuck.

Last night I kept thinking about how to write the next plot segment—the "vampire free-for-all" phase—but still can't figure out how to make it stand out.

So painful. My brain is trembling!
