Chapter 42: 41 Trash Journalist Higurashi, Alien Infighting

~7 min read 1,244 words

At the same time, the author of this report made Qi Ming’s eyes go black.

Higurashi?

That trash reporter who punched and kicked Future in Ultraman Mebius?

What the hell is wrong with this world? Why are all the visible figures just “rotten oranges”?

He wrote a long article claiming the Crow People dared attack TPC’s detention facility to capture people, yet were killed by Defense Force officers—proof that the Defense Force is more reliable.

“How much did they pay them? This bias is glaring,” Qi Ming remarked.

Saeki Rika: “The point is, we must also produce something truly striking.”

Qi Ming: “Didn’t we rescue over a dozen people from Abbadon?”

Saeki Rika shook her head, saying those people remained statues, still not restored to normal.

Is it really this complicated? Qi Ming remembered that in the original series, [Redel] easily reversed the petrification caused by Abbadon—so where the hell is that guy now?

After Saeki Rika left, Megumi: “The strategist is deeply concerned about this—she’s under immense pressure.”

Qi Ming: “Ignore them. Stick to our own pace.”

At that moment, Kishida’s excited voice crackled through the PDI communicator: “They’ve appeared! A group of aliens has shown up near Chirismaya!”

After stalking her like a stalker for so long, the effort finally paid off!

Qi Ming: “Are they Mochin Star people?”

Kishida: “Not just them—there are many!”

…………………………

Five minutes earlier.

Chirismaya was walking down a narrow path, heading home.

After escaping from the Natan Star people that day, she had wanted to follow her brother—but he had looked troubled and said the situation required a delay.

When she pressed him, she learned all the fellow escapees from his homeworld who had come with him had been killed by the Natan Star people.

Could just the two of them possibly find new land among the stars?

Where would their future lead?

Thinking of this, Chirismaya’s face was filled with sorrow, and she sighed, head bowed.

“Shhh!” The next instant, a flash of snowy blade light cut through the air.

Half of Chirismaya’s long hair was severed, along with the roots of a large tree beside her.

The Kaitel Star person appeared—this murderer had targeted Chirismaya!

“You… still won’t let us go?” Chirismaya’s voice trembled, mistaking him for Natan Star pursuers.

The Kaitel Star person moved like a merciless killing machine, wielding a short knife as he lunged forward.

“Ding!” At the critical moment, a metal handcuff appeared, blocking the strike.

Blue-dyed hair, a female figure, and those sturdy handcuffs…

Lucia, the second exile of the Mochin Star people, appeared and saved Chirismaya!

Kind-hearted, she grabbed Chirismaya’s hand and turned to flee, displaying astonishing leaping power.

But the Kaitel Star person’s physical prowess was equally superhuman; after a brief chase, he cornered them both.

Chirismaya: “Forget me—run away by yourself.”

Lucia said nothing. She shook her head, unable to abandon someone in danger, and rushed forward to fight the Kaitel Star person—but was quickly overpowered and nearly had her throat slit.

“Bang!” Lucia used her shackles to block the blade from her neck, but the Kaitel Star person seized the opening to kick her in the abdomen, sending her rolling back to Chirismaya’s side, unable to rise again.

“Shhh!” The Kaitel Star person raised his short knife to strike—when another figure appeared, grabbing his arm and stopping him.

It was a man in a brown shirt, his face expressionless.

Chirismaya thought another rescuer had arrived, but Lucia beside her trembled uncontrollably, her eyes filled with sheer terror.

This man was a Mochin Star person in mimicry form!

He was now warning the Kaitel Star person in cosmic language, declaring Lucia his prey and ordering him to stay out of it.

But the bloodthirsty Kaitel Star person paid no heed—he delivered a direct elbow strike to the Mochin Star person.

“They’re fighting!” Battlefield reporter Kishida exclaimed.

Because Chirismaya had never been pushed to her final moment, Tokumaru had ordered him to wait for reinforcements before acting.

Qi Ming’s voice came through the comm channel: “How’s the fight going? We’re almost there.”

Kishida: “Fifty-fifty.”

The Kaitel Star person wielded a weapon; the Mochin Star person fought bare-handed, at a disadvantage.

Kishida hoped these two aliens would kill each other, letting him reap the benefits—but the opponents weren’t fools.

Seeing neither could gain the upper hand, they chose to cease hostilities.

In the end, they compromised: Lucia must be killed by the Mochin Star person himself, and he would take her handcuffs back as proof of his hunt, but he would not interfere with the fate of others.

The two aliens advanced together—the Kaitel Star person aimed to sever Chirismaya’s head, while the Mochin Star person targeted Lucia.

Qi Ming arrived at the critical moment, delivering a flying kick to the Kaitel Star person’s abdomen, then rolling midair to strike the Mochin Star person with a cun punch, repelling both aliens at once.

“Grr…” The Kaitel Star person clutched his abdomen, glaring hatefully at Qi Ming—he had suffered a major defeat at this man’s hands before and had long sought revenge.

Qi Ming turned to look behind him at Chirismaya and Lucia; seeing they were unharmed, he faced the Mochin Star person:

“Though entering Earth without notice is impolite, you’ve shown no intent to invade or cause major disruption.”

“So if you’re willing to leave now, we won’t pursue you.”

“But he’s different—he has taken lives on Earth. He must die!”

As he spoke, Qi Ming pointed at the Kaitel Star person, enraging him so violently that he lunged forward.

“Let’s settle our score!” Yamada emerged from behind Qi Ming, firing both pistols in unison, unleashing a torrent of bullets at the Kaitel Star person.

He tried to dodge, but Yamada’s shots were flawless, locking onto his every movement, striking him repeatedly and sending up bursts of sparks.

Struck by the full barrage, the Kaitel Star person was forced to the ground—but before he could steady himself, another volley struck him from behind.

Kishida and Nishijo Nagi stepped forward from their pre-planned positions, wielding Victory Hyper Guns, surrounding the Kaitel Star person.

“Pay the price!” Nishijo Nagi stared at the Kaitel Star person with icy eyes, determined to personally end the mistake she had caused.

The Mochin Star person, though not attacked, remained inside the encirclement.

His gaze, like a venomous snake, fixed on Lucia—he had no intention of abandoning his captured prey.

Watching Qi Ming stand between Lucia and Chirismaya, the Mochin Star person and the Kaitel Star person simultaneously turned to look at each other.

Should we join forces?

For readers bored while waiting for updates, I recommend the author’s previous Ultraman novel—*I Collected Attributes in the Ultraman World*.

The title might sound a bit odd, but I’m confident in the content—it’s a proper Ultraman novel.

In my own assessment, *Qiming* is on track to score a 9.5 upon completion, while the previous novel earned an 8.

Many readers believe it was the best Ultraman novel of 2024; those who followed it to the end were not disappointed.

Before the Tiga arc, its average subscription count even exceeded ten thousand (I’ve posted a screenshot).
