Chapter 52: 51 As for My Suggestion, Let
In just three more days, Qi Ming’s Star Grant points reached 2.
During these six days, only trivial matters occurred.
After using Abubas’s method, the petrified statues indeed returned to normal.
Counselor Kenji turned this into his own achievement, loudly publicizing it while inviting Qi Ming again, hoping to have a heart-to-heart talk with him in his private office.
Counselor He Zhi also invited Qi Ming through Tongshan, but Qi Ming ignored them all.
Counselor Tongshan claimed that Qi Ming had suffered severe internal injuries from fighting multiple aliens six days ago and was currently recuperating—a reason both sides accepted.
Meanwhile, after witnessing Qi Ming’s “divine foresight,” Yamana and Kishida began subtly drawing closer to him, asking him to divine their futures and romantic prospects.
Nami Nishijo also said: “Divine the whereabouts of the fleeing Golzla and Melba.”
Qi Ming once again pretended to perform calculations and suggested keeping an eye on “Mugongetsu Mountain.”
This was where Golzla hid in the original Ultraman Tiga series, but Nami Nishijo wasn’t satisfied and demanded more specifics.
Qi Ming dodged: “Cannot be detailed—celestial secrets must not be revealed.”
The investigation team indeed found traces of Golzla’s activity at Mugongetsu Mountain, but it appeared to have left recently.
When Qi Ming received the news, he was deeply puzzled.
Left? Golzla should have quietly absorbed magma energy to grow stronger without external disturbance—why leave?
Further investigation reports revealed other massive subterranean creatures had left traces beneath Mugongetsu Mountain; Golzla was likely driven off by another monster.
It seemed that in this world, nearly fused with all Ultraman works, native monsters competed fiercely among themselves.
Fortunately, he had earlier planted the seed of “celestial secrets must not be revealed,” avoiding overpromising—otherwise he would have been exposed.
That afternoon, while having tea with Dr. Yatabe, Qi Ming casually asked:
“Dr. Yatabe, do I need to return the sniper rifle you borrowed for me?”
“Sniper rifle?”
“That ‘Dunk Shooting Rifle.’” The situation had changed; he never used it last time.
“Let me check… keep it for now. After all, their developed weapons ultimately go to your Victory Team members.”
After receiving Dr. Yatabe’s confirmation, Qi Ming placed the rifle in the back of the Drumm vehicle.
When he returned to the Victory Team command room, he heard Kishida speaking confidently:
“Did you know? Dr. Mizuno’s meteorological research has made a breakthrough.”
“Their survey team made a major discovery within the cloud formations!”
“This proves his hypothesis—there exists a previously unknown lifeform living in the clouds.”
Qi Ming was startled: “A new lifeform? You mean the ‘Lightning Man’?”
Kishida nodded: “It seems Qi Ming’s knowledge spans many fields—you’re well-informed.”
“Correct. Dr. Mizuno’s probe entered the ionospheric clouds and captured photos of this mysterious creature!”
To curry favor with Qi Ming, Kishida then showed him a glimpse of the “top-secret” data on his phone.
The photo depicted a floating creature resembling a Chinese softshell turtle—harmless and dreamlike.
It was indeed the Lightning Man from Ultraman Tiga.
Strange—this world has no shortage of electromagnetic waves, yet these Lightning Men remain unaffected, not mutating into Gazzot?
Yamana: “If these creatures live in the clouds, what do they eat? Air?”
Kishida: “That requires further study.” At that moment, Emi, seated in the original role of “Nozomi,” suddenly spoke: “New update—Golzla and Melba have appeared in Kumamoto City!”
The large screen flickered, showing Golzla and Melba stomping through the city streets, advancing forward.
Qi Ming studied them closely and confirmed they were the “base type” Golzla and Melba.
They had received no enhancements; instead, they bore new wounds.
Melba’s wings showed charred black burns; Golzla’s tail had a gnawed-out notch.
Had they entered another monster’s territory while fleeing to heal—and been beaten?
Had they come to Kumamoto City to destroy two more statues? Then he could profit from this.
Emi: “The Defense Force has already deployed. Should we go too?”
Everyone turned to Qi Ming, including Captain Moroboshi, awaiting his advice.
“Qi Ming, use your invincible ‘Star of Divination’ to guide us.”
Qi Ming: “Based on my understanding of the Defense Force, they only show destructive power against harmless or beneficial monsters—otherwise, don’t expect them to accomplish anything.”
Moroboshi nodded: “Fine, prepare for deployment, Nishijo and…”
Qi Ming interrupted: “Captain, we’ve been cooped up in the command room too long—want to get some fresh air? Why not take a flight together? Your leg shouldn’t hinder flying, right?”
“The Captain going out?” Everyone was stunned.
Before, they would have strongly opposed this—Yamana’s “Qi Ming, are you serious?” would have followed instantly.
But after so many events, their mindset had shifted to “Qi Ming wouldn’t say this without reason.”
Moroboshi was surprised: “Alright. Nishijo stays at base. I’ll go with you.”
Qi Ming and Moroboshi piloted Victory Flyer One; Kishida and Yamana piloted Victory Flyer Two, heading together toward Kumamoto City.
On the way, they monitored the battle via satellite communication.
The Defense Force, true to its former Self-Defense Forces roots, deployed with overwhelming grandeur.
Thirty Type-10 main battle tanks surged like a steel tide; ten F-15J fighters formed an arrowhead formation, menacingly advancing toward the two monsters.
But…
The thirty tanks fired, their barrage shaking Golzla’s body—but failed to inflict fatal damage.
Golzla gathered energy and unleashed a violet supersonic beam, reducing streets and tanks to ash.
Though the fighters had superior mobility, Melba was faster.
She spread her vast wings, piercing through the fighter barrage like a hawk striking swallows, shattering their metal frames.
The Defense Force was annihilated.
These were the monsters famed for “shaking the earth” and “shattering the sky”—even wounded, their destructive power remained terrifying.
“Damn it, still not enough!” Pharaoh Ryuu, bailing out of a fighter, roared in frustration.
Moroboshi felt no schadenfreude; in his eyes, though defeated by insufficient firepower, these were still brave warriors defending Earth.
He said gravely: “Alright, now only we stand between the monsters and the city. Prepare to attack!”
“After this long, the civilians should have evacuated by now…” Qi Ming thought, then said: “I suggest we wait a little longer.”
Moroboshi was shocked: “What!”
Qi Ming: “Don’t rush—someone else will be even more eager.”
