Chapter 79: 77 Bassaku System (Please Follow!)
After speaking with Officer Nishijo, Kenjiro Kaneto strode into the Victory Team’s command room, beaming with satisfaction—only to find Qi Ming absent.
Yamada explained: “He only shows up when he feels like it.”
“No matter. I trust Qi Ming’s sense of responsibility—he’ll manage his time properly and never neglect his duties.”
With his mood so good, Kenjiro Kaneto didn’t care at all.
He encouraged the TPC personnel, telling them that if the Defense Force ever tried to provoke them again, they should respond just as firmly—we TPC are no worse than they are.
“But… why not use the Texas Beam mounted on Feiyan Two to eliminate the monster?” he asked, puzzled they’d let it escape.
The Victory Team exchanged glances; finally, Shirogane stepped forward and delivered a speech about how Earth’s monsters were allies in humanity’s fight against alien invaders.
Kenjiro Kaneto didn’t believe it: “Allies? Monster frontlines? What do these beasts understand?”
Emi: “Qi Ming said so.”
Kenjiro Kaneto: “Then… does Qi Ming have any basis for this claim?”
Kishida: “Probably from fortune-telling.”
Kenjiro Kaneto thought he’d misheard: “Fortune-telling? Like feng shui and divination?”
Kishida: “You think it’s superstition too, right? But…”
Kenjiro Kaneto waved his hand, saying something that stunned them all:
“No, no—this isn’t entirely superstition. Feng shui can sometimes resolve disasters science can’t explain. I’ve seen it with my own eyes.”
“But the field is too chaotic. Ordinary people can’t reach true masters—only con artists who pretend to know.”
“Even cabinet ministers and many high-ranking American officials and wealthy businessmen believe in it. Major construction projects always hire feng shui masters.”
“True feng shui masters are treated as honored guests wherever they go—highly respected—but…”
But Qi Ming was so young. To have mastered such formidable combat skills was already incredible—how could he also have deeply studied this art?
Yamada: “At first I thought it was nonsense, but his predictions are shockingly accurate.”
Nishijo Nagi nodded: “Every piece of intelligence he’s given has been correct.”
Emi: “Perhaps Qi Ming comes from a family with deep expertise in this field.”
Hearing them speak so strangely, Kenjiro Kaneto couldn’t help but waver.
Yet before he witnessed firsthand the claim that “monsters fight Earth’s cosmic invaders,” he still harbored deep skepticism about both the idea and Qi Ming’s abilities.
…………………………
On the other side, Qi Ming stared at the “8 Star Gifts” displayed on his watch and shook his head: “The last two times, I got nothing but losses.”
Fortunately, his Star Gifts automatically increase by one every three days—otherwise his restrictions would be even tighter.
Still, this battle had its gains: in desperation, he’d actually used “Body Shift,” a short-range teleportation technique.
Then—could he use the technique his uncle Qing Zizai taught him, the 【Eightfold Body Shift】 that attacks from eight directions simultaneously, while in his transformed state?
“Forget it. This must remain a hidden card—don’t let the enemy find out.”
“But if my ‘skills’ are useful, I might be able to leave in five or six days.”
Thinking of this, Qi Ming pulled out a laptop he’d never connected to the internet since acquiring it, and began typing.
It was an “engineering project” he’d been working on for days: he’d written down every monster and alien’s traits, along with their original plot actions.
One purpose was to deepen his memory; the other, a “parting gift.”
He planned to give the documents inside to Emi, Shirogane, and Professor Kiriyama before he left.
With accurate intelligence, even if they faced the worst situations, they’d still have a chance.
“Qi Ming, are you there?” A voice came from outside the door—Shirogane.
“Come in,” Qi Ming said, then immediately saved and shut the laptop.
This could only be given when he left—he was still an insider now.
If it leaked out, he’d surely be dragged into the mess and cause endless trouble—he didn’t want to stir up unnecessary problems.
Shirogane sat down on a chair: “What were you just doing?”
Qi Ming didn’t hide it: “Some backup plans I’m preparing before I leave—hope they help you get through the tough times.”
Shirogane’s expression changed: “Leave… do you have a way back?”
Qi Ming wouldn’t claim full certainty: “Maybe. Maybe not. But I have to try.”
In the original Nexter plot, The·One was ultimately destroyed by Nexter—so a stronger Nexus should be able to handle it like a ball.
But if it keeps evolving? That’s uncertain.
The longer we wait, the more terrifying it becomes. Best to return and destroy it quickly—don’t give it time to grow.
Shirogane fell silent for a long while: “Then… will you come back?”
Qi Ming froze: “Come back?”
Shirogane: “After you settle your affairs on the other side, will you do everything in your power to return, like you are now?”
“All these people and things here—can you truly abandon them completely?”
Qi Ming fell silent for a long while, then deliberately changed the subject:
“Ryujun, though he got a lesson this time, still needs watching—don’t let this fanatic ruin things.”
“The situation is growing more complex—we must unite every force we can…”
…………………………
Eight kilometers beneath the ground, the “void” was not dark.
Towers glowing with light rose, forming a strange city.
Beneath each tower, figures in white robes whispered among themselves:
“The humans above keep digging deeper, shrinking the distance between us—are they preparing for war…?”
“And they’re destroying the dragon veins. If the earth’s energy lines can no longer mitigate the sun’s harmful radiation, we, the Delos, will be destroyed.”
“What should we do? Activate the Bassaku System?”
“Or offer sacrifices to the Earth Dragon? Ask it to save us?”
…………………………
Three days later, Qi Ming’s Star Gifts returned to 9.
That day, like a supervisor on inspection, he went to the command center after training and found everyone frantic.
“What’s going on? Another emergency?” Qi Ming asked.
Emi, still typing furiously, replied: “Water and power are cut. Phones don’t work anymore. All basic infrastructure in Tokyo has failed.”
Hearing this, Qi Ming’s heart sank.

Today only has two updates, but the word count is quite substantial.
This is the final event before the next Star Gathering—a brilliant internal power struggle among Earth’s native forces, with schemes of using others to do one’s dirty work. Don’t miss it.
