Chapter 92: 89 The Arrival of Destruction Bringer Also Did It

~6 min read 1,136 words

When the two returned to the Victory Team command room, Moroboshi again came over to inquire about the Sword Wheel Grass.

Upon learning it had been shot dead by Nishijo Nagi, he finally relaxed.

“Where are the others?” Qi Ming noticed only Moroboshi in the command room.

Moroboshi: “Just now, the probe ship searching for the atomic bomb sank for unknown reasons.”

“The survivors were taken to the hospital and have been babbling, saying they saw something—Yamaka went to investigate.”

Qi Ming: “...”

Send Yamaka to handle this?

Qi Ming could already guess his line: “Even the Victory Team can’t do anything about the Dreamers.”

But the probe ship sank... It seems the deep-sea ape Lagon did act after all.

Nishijo Nagi asked: “Where are Kishida and Emi?”

Moroboshi explained: “A meteor fell near Yokohama—Emi and Kishida went to check it out.”

Soon, Emi sent over photos of the meteor site.

Qi Ming glanced at them and his heart sank.

So familiar... Right, this is a fragment of the Natural Control Machine [Heavenly Realm] from Ultraman Gaia!

The typhoon that blew down the rocket carrying the atomic bomb was launched by it!

Just yesterday we resolved the conflict between humans and Earth monsters; today afternoon we face another destructive force.

And now Lagon, who might arrive with an ultra-powerful atomic bomb at any moment...

My soul is exhausted. I just want to retire.

And most importantly, I have zero Star Blessing right now—I can’t even transform into Ultraman Tiga!

“If we truly reach a point of utter helplessness, there’s nothing we can do,” Qi Ming accepted calmly.

A normal Ultraman warrior, when unable to defeat a powerful enemy and protect people, would feel deep pain and regret no matter the reason.

But Qi Ming—he would think: “This exceeds my current capabilities; I’ve done my best, and I have no regrets.”

…………………………

After bringing the meteor back to the offshore base, Kishida began analysis.

“Definitely not from Earth, but it doesn’t seem like a meteor either—there’s not a trace of burning.”

“This stone pierced through a building and landed, connecting the hole in the building to the hole in the ground—draw a parabola along the height within the atmosphere...”

“What would be along this line... Strange, nothing at all.”

Qi Ming reminded him: “Don’t forget—the typhoon is moving.”

The words jolted Kishida awake—he recalculated: “Right, the typhoon at that time... It’s this one! Found it!”

Feiyan-2 arrived at Kishida’s calculated location and saw a terrifying massive cloud mass.

Kishida said: “It’s almost alive—the black clouds enveloping the typhoon’s eye generate an enormous amount of energy.”

Emi: “Radar is disrupted by it—we must get closer to identify what it is.”

At that moment, the Weather Division sent new information.

After analyzing the atmospheric samples Kishida brought back, they found that harmful components in the air the typhoon passed through had sharply decreased.

“If this typhoon continues at this rate, Earth’s atmosphere will be completely purified in six months.”

Yamaka returned from the hospital empty-handed and exclaimed in delight: “So this machine is here to help Earth?”

Classic Yamaka—he picked the wrong answer instantly.

Kishida shook his head: “If this typhoon keeps blowing like this, humans will suffer severe losses, and other surface life won’t survive either.”

Qi Ming added: “Yesterday it blew down six atomic bombs—what do you think it’ll blow down tomorrow?”

He knew well that [Heavenly Realm], like [Flame Mountain] and [Deep Green], was one of the Destruction-Bringer’s “Natural Control Machines,” designed to reset Earth’s surface ecology.

Kishida pulled up satellite imagery—the cloud mass resembled a grotesque face.

The situation was clear: this typhoon was not natural—it was manufactured.

Nishijo Nagi: “Its purpose was to target rockets carrying atomic bombs?”

At that moment, Emi’s face paled: “The typhoon’s wind speed has increased—by this rate, the Kanto region will enter the storm circle in three hours!”

Moroboshi pondered briefly, then decided to send Nishijo Nagi in Feiyan-2 to penetrate the cloud mass and attack the core generating the typhoon.

Nishijo Nagi nodded and, following Kishida’s advice, used the same method as Captain Yumi from Ultraman Gaia—entering at a V-angle through the calm zone’s width.

But she failed.

It wasn’t because her piloting was worse than Captain Yumi’s—it was because Feiyan’s performance couldn’t match the anti-gravity-equipped fighter from Ultraman Gaia.

“What do we do now?” Everyone grew anxious.

The powerful typhoon was sweeping across Japan’s major cities, shaking buildings, sending vehicles and air conditioner units flying, yet they were powerless.

“Without direct attack methods, no matter how powerful the aircraft or missile, none can break through winds reaching eighty meters per second.”

Kishida: “Humanity truly is powerless against nature’s might.”

Yamaka: “If only an Ultraman could help—Ultraman’s weight would surely withstand such strong air currents.”

At these words, Moroboshi unconsciously glanced at Qi Ming.

That was normal; what was abnormal was Emi.

She too had glanced at Qi Ming out of the corner of her eye, observing secretly.

Something’s off.

In the original Ultraman Blazar TV series and movie, Emi never realized that Captain Stringer was Blazar’s human host.

Why now, in my case, is she starting to suspect? Is it because my presence is too strong?

Though Emi is probably trustworthy, knowing too much isn’t necessarily good for her...

But the immediate priority is resolving [Heavenly Realm].

The only form I can currently transform into is Melba, with one free use remaining—but to the public, it has a serious criminal record.

If I transform, humans will immediately chase and attack me—and Nishijo Nagi will be the most eager to do so.

Asking Aizen Makoto for help is also difficult—there’s no monster to lure him in this time, since none were captured in the Katabira Islands, making bait hard to arrange.

“Earth is the shared home of humans and monsters. If this super typhoon continues raging, the monsters won’t fare well either—they won’t just sit idle.” Qi Ming stood up.

Kishida: “You mean the monsters will attack the thing inside the typhoon’s eye?”

The idea that “monsters side with humans against cosmic invaders” remained half-suspected by Kishida, Nishijo Nagi, and even Counselor Kento—even now, lacking evidence and credibility.

After all, there was no proof.

Qi Ming: “Yes—but we’d better go urge them. Otherwise, with monsters’ sluggish senses, they’ll be late.”

In the original Ultraman Gaia, Gobu was already destroyed for a long time before Kiru finally arrived.

This led humans to misjudge Earth monsters as enemies, causing serious internal conflict.

Now, Qi Ming planned to personally meet Jinryu and ask it to summon the monsters, to show humanity what they’re truly capable of.

Once humans realize monsters bring more than just hidden threats and disasters, they’ll reassess their value—and become more cautious when dealing with native monsters.

Mutual benefit—that is the true path to coexistence.
