Chapter 463: This Grudge Must Be Avenged
Bai Zhan twitched a few times and opened his eyes.
"Muyu..." Before Bai Zhan died, he finally regained his consciousness. He gripped Bai Muyu tightly: "I don't have much time. All my research data is stored on a private server; the password... is on a USB drive."
"Dad, I'll take you to the hospital, please stop talking," Bai Muyu cried.
"No, it's useless. Don't blame Chen Yu... Someone was controlling me just now. If he hadn't pierced through me as well, I would never have woken up before I died." Bai Zhan's hands trembled as he grabbed Chen Yu.
"Uncle Bai, is there anything else you want to say?" Chen Yu sighed; Bai Zhan was already on his deathbed.
The Soul-Eater Gu had burst out from his heart; even with Chen Yu's extraordinary medical skills, he could not save him.
He could only forcibly lock his Spirit apertures to let his soul linger in his body for a little longer.
"I leave Muyu... to you. From now on, take care of Muyu for me." Bai Zhan pinched Chen Yu's hand, leaving several bloodstains on Chen Yu's hand.
"Uncle Bai, rest assured. I won't let her suffer any grievances, nor will I let anyone bully her," Chen Yu said in a deep voice.
"Chen Yu, I beg you to think of a way to save my dad. He is the only family I have left. Chen Yu, I beg you." Bai Muyu grabbed Chen Yu's hand and wept bitterly.
"Talk to your dad a little more." Chen Yu felt as if something was blocking his chest. His medical Dao was heaven-reaching, but this tribulation was fated for Bai Zhan, and he was powerless to stop it.
"Muyu, the USB drive is in... in my room. Remember, don't trust anyone except Chen Yu." Bai Zhan gripped Bai Muyu tightly and roared with all his remaining strength: "Did you hear me clearly?"
"I heard you clearly, please stop talking, rest for a while." Bai Muyu was crying like a tear-stained doll.
"I won't be around anymore, take good care of yourself." Bai Zhan closed his eyes with a trace of a smile on his face, then his hand dropped heavily, and he completely lost consciousness.
"Dad, Dad, wake up, Dad." Bai Muyu called out and shook him desperately, but he was already gone, and nothing could be done.
"Muyu, Uncle Bai has passed away, please accept your grief," Chen Yu sighed and took hold of Bai Muyu's hand.
"Let go, let go of me! My dad is just sleeping, he's fine, he will wake up!" Bai Muyu screamed and broke free from Chen Yu.
Chen Yu pulled her into his arms: "You still have me. Don't worry, I promised him I would take good care of you. From now on, you are the person I, Chen Yu, will protect. No one will ever be allowed to hurt you."
Bai Muyu threw herself into Chen Yu's arms and sobbed uncontrollably.
Soon, Heihu arrived with his men. Ao Zhan and Jiuge were injured; they had been ambushed by Taige midway, and it was only thanks to the arrival of reinforcements that they had barely managed to save their lives.
Chen Yu pressed lightly on the acupoints on Bai Muyu's back, and she fell into a deep sleep. She was carried onto an ambulance.
Everyone's expression was grim. Heihu punched the wall hard; he had led men to secretly protect Bai Zhan for a long time, but he still hadn't saved his life.
Mo Chen's body was also found inside the villa.
He was not a Bloodline Awakener, but had been attacked by a creature from the Dark World when he was a child, which gave him a Half-Demon Body Pulse.
Demonized was his strongest state, but he usually maintained his human appearance through Taoist Dharma Incantations. Once the seal was broken and he Demonized, he would never be able to return to human form again.
Even in death, he remained in his Half-Demon form. He was a hero, but his name could never be remembered by others.
Thump... Ao Zhan knelt heavily on the ground. With his comrade dead, he finally lowered his proud head and shed tears.
"Ancient Witch Tribe members intervened, and Bai Doctor was controlled by a Parasitic Gu," Chen Yu said. "In the end, the Gu broke out from his heart; there was no way to save him."
"I understand," Heihu nodded. "Ao Zhan, why was Mo Chen left here alone? The Saint-Luoer tonight didn't even reach the strength of a First-Tier Saint-Luoer."
"If the three of you had been here, how could he have harmed Bai Doctor?"
"I received intelligence that their main target was Bai Muyu, so we changed our plan at the last minute," Ao Zhan said, hanging his head.
"With Chen Yu watching over Miss Bai, how could anything have gone wrong? You were just trying to steal the credit," Heihu said angrily. "Ao Zhan, you must take responsibility for your arrogance, and you must take responsibility for the death of your comrade."
"Bai Doctor was killed by Chen Yu; this matter should be Chen Yu's responsibility in the first place," Jiuge said angrily.
Chen Yu glanced at Jiuge, then suddenly grabbed with his right hand. Linchen appeared in his hand, and three streaks of Sword Qi condensed, heading toward Jiuge's vital points.
"Mr. Chen, don't!" Heihu was startled, but Chen Yu's killing intent was biting; he truly intended to eliminate Jiuge.
In desperation, Heihu let out a loud shout and extended his right hand; his hand actually grew by half a foot in an intangible way.
He grabbed Jiuge and dragged him away by force.
With a *pfft* sound, Jiuge let out a muffled groan as his left shoulder was pierced by a streak of Sword Qi. *Boom*, the remaining two streaks of Sword Qi punched two holes through the villa wall.
Chen Yu gestured with his right hand, and Linchen left his hand, hovering above Jiuge's head. Intense Sword Intent enveloped Jiuge; if Chen Yu moved his hand, Linchen could crush him instantly.
Cold sweat instantly poured down Jiuge's forehead. Only then did he realize that Chen Yu hadn't used his full strength when they fought last time. With Chen Yu's strength, taking his life was almost a matter of a single thought.
"Mr. Chen, let's talk this over. This matter has nothing to do with you," Heihu hurriedly tried to mediate.
"Bai Doctor was infected with a Parasitic Gu, his consciousness and actions were controlled by others, and the Concentric Gu was destined to break out of his heart within three days; he was essentially beyond saving," Chen Yu shouted. "When I broke the Gu, I pierced his body to let him find release sooner."
"Bai Doctor was the father of my good friend. She is very sad right now, and I am in a bad mood too. Don't you dare pin those labels on me for no reason, or I will kill you right now," Chen Yu said coldly.
"Jiuge, apologize," Ao Zhan shouted.
"Captain, why should I?" Jiuge was unconvinced.
"Because the responsibility for this lies entirely with us," Ao Zhan said angrily. "And because Chen Yu alone can take on ten of you."
Jiuge backed down. Indeed, with Chen Yu's strength, taking on ten of him was not a problem at all.
He bowed deeply to Chen Yu and gritted his teeth: "I'm sorry, I was wrong."
Chen Yu retracted his right hand, and Linchen disappeared. Jiuge let out a long sigh of relief. When Linchen was hovering over his head, he felt as if he were being watched by a killing intent, making his scalp tingle. With Linchen gone, he felt his spirit relax.
"Remember, your own mistakes are your own mistakes; don't go around shifting the blame onto others," Chen Yu said coldly. "It's best you don't provoke me again in the future, or you will regret it."
Jiuge didn't say a word, or rather, he didn't dare to speak, because he had just witnessed Chen Yu's true strength.
In the blink of an eye, several days had passed.
This incident left Dragon Breath absolutely furious. After all, Bai Doctor was a national strategic-level figure. Ao Zhan was directly given a major demerit and demoted.
But no matter how many people were punished, it couldn't bring Bai Doctor back to life. The top priority was all of Bai Doctor's research data from before his death.
All his data was stored on a private server, and the server was in one of his private villas.
However, the password was extremely complex. The technical staff sent by Dragon Breath looked at it for a few moments before shaking their heads and leaving.
As Bai Doctor's only daughter and the successor to his research projects, Bai Muyu became the object of special attention.
But ever since her father passed away, Bai Muyu had stayed alone, neither eating nor drinking, and not saying a word.
"Chen Yu, I really had no other choice but to come to you," Heihu sighed, looking as if he had more to say but was holding back.
"If you have something to say, just say it," Chen Yu said, holding a vermilion brush and drawing some Talismans.
Most of these Talisman Paper are Taoist Orthodox Talisman, including Water Talisman used for Talisman Blessing Technique, as well as talismans for exorcism, righteous law, lightning strikes, and so on.
"If you have something to say, just say it directly; there's no need to be so hesitant." Chen Yu put away the batch of Talisman Paper he had just finished writing and said indifferently.
"All of Bai Doctor's research results from before his death are recorded on his private server," Heihu said, "but we cannot crack the password to his server right now."
"If you all can't crack it, what makes you think I have a way to crack it?" Chen Yu looked indifferent.
"You were the last person to see Bai Doctor, so we had no choice but to come and ask you. Besides, Bai Muyu must know about the password, but for the past few days, she hasn't eaten or drunk anything, nor has she spoken to anyone," Heihu said with a bitter smile.
