Chapter 897

She was here to find the Skrulls.

Once she found them, she would leave this place.

"They are a shapeshifting race; they can transform into any form."

Fury and the others burst into laughter upon hearing this.

"Oh, god, are you guys not listening?"

As she spoke, Carol turned to leave.

Fury grabbed Carol and held her back.

"Then how can you prove you aren't a Skrull in disguise?"

Carol smiled faintly and said, "You finally asked the right question."

But just as the words left her lips—

Carol suddenly spotted someone lying on a rooftop in the distance, taking aim.

She quickly pushed Fury aside.

At the same time, she raised a hand.

A beam of light erupted from her fist.

It blasted that spot to pieces.

Carol gave chase immediately.

Fury called out to Coulson to follow.

Carol ran at high speed.

She caught up to a train.

The Skrull from before had already slipped into the train.

Because they could shapeshift,

it took Carol a long time to identify them.

And they could change their appearance at any moment.

Carol and the Skrull fought inside the train.

Carol's strange attire drew even more attention.

The battle inside the train raged on intensely.

Director Fury was driving, with Coulson in the passenger seat, in pursuit.

Suddenly, the radio inside the car crackled with Coulson's voice.

"Director Fury, where did you go? I'm still here at the video store."

Fury, who was driving, realized the truth in an instant.

The person sitting next to him was actually a Skrull in disguise.

He immediately grabbed his pistol, intending to fire.

The Skrull, disguised as Coulson, grappled with him.

The car crashed into a pillar.

A gunshot rang out.

Fury climbed out, his face covered in blood.

He looked at the Skrull in the passenger seat, who had reverted to its green-skinned form.

He was still shaken.

Meanwhile, after a long pursuit,

Carol ultimately lost the Skrull's trail.

However, she found a purple crystal.

She walked into a deserted corner.

Carol inserted the crystal into the device on her arm.

After the screen flickered a few times,

it displayed some memory fragments.

There was Dr. Lawson,

and the name of a bar.

Carol sensed something unusual.

After searching for a while,

Carol rode off on a passerby's motorcycle.

She headed toward the location of the bar.

In the autopsy room,

a doctor was performing an autopsy on the Skrull's corpse.

Director Fury was holding an ice pack to his eye.

After a brief conversation,

Fury's superior walked in.

The superior asked, "This thing transformed?"

Fury replied, "It transformed into Coulson."

"It was very convincing."

The superior asked, "That woman said it had accomplices, right?"

Fury nodded: "The word she used was 'infiltrating Earth'."

The superior asked, "Do you believe it?"

Fury pointed to the corpse on the table and said, "I only believed it after seeing this."

The superior nodded and asked, "What is your plan?"

Fury said, "Someone reported that she stole something from someone else."

"I will continue the pursuit."

After the two chatted for a while,

Fury walked out of the laboratory.

The superior leaned over the Skrull's head.

And said something truly chilling:

"Rest in peace, my friend."

"I will definitely complete the mission we left unfinished."

The audience in the Blue Star live broadcast room was shocked into a daze.

"Holy crap! This guy is a Skrull in disguise too!"

"This shapeshifting ability is too strong! You can't tell at all!"

"The top leadership has been infiltrated... how are they supposed to win?"

"I really want to know how Fury lost that eye."

"Everything can be dissected."

"Look! No matter who you are, as long as you land on Earth, you're getting sliced up!"

Carol rode the motorcycle.

Following the route on the map,

she found the country bar from her memories.

When she walked into the bar,

scenes from her memories flooded her mind.

In the photos on the wall,

there was even the fighter jet she was familiar with.

Just as she was asking the clerk what the Pegasus Project was,

Fury walked out from the back.

Carol, worried that Fury was a Skrull in disguise,

asked him many questions. ===== CHAPTER 898 =====
