Chapter 898

~4 min read 651 words

Only then did she confirm that Fury was indeed himself.

Fury said, "Now prove to me that you aren't a Skrull."

Carol pursed her lips.

She reached out a hand.

A beam of light blasted from her fist.

With a boom,

Fury turned to look at the wall that had been blasted apart.

Carol rested her chin on one hand and looked at him.

Fury said, "Does doing something like that prove anything?"

Carol smiled and said, "This is a photon energy cannon."

"Skrulls can't do this."

Then Carol asked directly:

"You've been involved in so many things."

"Do you know where the Pegasus Project is?"

Fury nodded.

He drove Carol to the location of the Pegasus Project.

On the way,

Fury learned some information about the Skrull and Kree civilizations.

"You are both noble warrior races."

"So why do the Skrulls want to find the Pegasus Project?"

Carol said, "They believe that Lawson was at the Pegasus Project."

"And that she developed a light-speed engine."

Fury said in astonishment, "A light-speed engine?"

"I've heard too many absurd terms today."

Carol said faintly, "Is that so? There's even more."

Fury asked, "And what about you? What do you want?"

Carol looked at the road ahead.

She said firmly, "I want to stop them before they succeed."

The car drove into a mountainous area.

After multiple verifications,

the two walked into the base.

Standing on a high platform,

they looked at the field below.

Many new types of fighter jets were parked there.

Many people were busy working.

Just as they were watching,

someone walked up behind them to check their credentials.

"Do you know Lawson?"

Carol asked.

The person handed the credentials to Fury.

And turned around, saying, "Follow me."

However, the two were directly locked inside a small room.

No one told them what was going on.

Fury had already sensed a problem.

He looked at Carol and said, "They don't consider us friends."

Fury reached out to verify his fingerprint on the machine on the door.

The result flashed red, indicating failure.

Fury sighed.

He took out a small device and pressed a button.

Carol asked in confusion, "Is that a communicator?"

Fury said, "That's right, the most advanced two-way pager."

Then Fury took out the credentials that the superior had checked earlier.

He tore off a piece of tape.

He had lifted the superior's fingerprint from it.

"Haha! Excellent!"

He held it up to the light to look at it.

Fury was incredibly excited.

Then he stuck the fingerprint tape onto the instrument.

The door opened successfully.

The two took the elevator to the archives.

In the hallway, an orange cat walked over.

Fury bent down to pick up the orange cat.

"Are you a cute little kitty? Yes, you are."

Fury seemed very fond of the little cat.

"Let me see what your name is."

"Wow, Goose, what a nice name."

Carol turned back helplessly: "Fury, let's go."

Fury patted the orange cat's head and hurried to catch up.

The two arrived at the archives.

"Wait, let me get the fingerprint."

Just as Fury took out the fingerprint tape,

Carol reached out toward the door lock.

A flash of light appeared.

The door lock was completely destroyed.

She opened the door easily.

Fury's hand paused in mid-air.

He said, somewhat speechless, "You watched me do all that work."

"You clearly could have done it earlier..."

Carol ignored him.

She walked straight into the archives.

The things she wanted to find might have answers in the archives.

The lights in the archives turned on automatically.

However, there were many archive shelves.

After searching for a moment,

she found the location of Lawson's file.

While the two were flipping through it,

the orange cat sat quietly by the side of the hallway.

Watching the two of them.

"Pegasus Project, project terminated?"

Fury opened a booklet. ===== CHAPTER 899 =====
