Chapter 492: Priest, You

~6 min read 1,031 words

In that demon's perception, the ultimate shock.

In Rod's eyes, it was only WhiteLight flashing from Jesus's hand, and then the demon was expelled back to Hell; the man possessed by it fell to the ground.

It was no different from a normal Exorcism procedure; the only thing that shocked Rod was that the child Jesus could actually expel a demon of this caliber?

A child who looked at most seven or eight years old!

What exactly is the background of this child called Jesus?

Could it be… he is Yu Lin's son? Inheriting his powerful bloodline or secret techniques?

But… they don't look alike at all!

Confusion, intense bodily pain, the weakness from blood loss, and the mental shock of witnessing the supernatural surged toward Rod like a tide.

He tried to think, to untangle his thoughts, but his consciousness sank like mud, growing heavier.

The scene before his eyes began to spin and blur.

Finally, his vision dimmed, he lost consciousness completely, and fell into a severe coma.

Yu Lin glanced at the limp Rod on the ground, but did not rush forward to help.

He turned to Jesus, who stood quietly beside him, and asked, "How do you feel?"

Jesus was looking down at his right hand, as if carefully recalling the experience of his palm touching the demon.

Hearing Yu Lin's question, he lifted his head:

"Very… wonderful, feeling… very warm, very bright, but not just light and heat."

"It's like… something flowed out from my body, or rather from the spot I touched, … it was scared, and then… it vanished."

He furrowed his small brows, looking a bit troubled: "I… I can't put into words exactly what the feeling is; it's as if I know, yet as if I don't."

"If you can't describe it, don't force yourself," Yu Lin patted his shoulder, casually:

"Some sensations need time to be experienced and understood. Let's go."

He glanced at the unconscious Rod on the floor, then added:

"Hmm, bring this guy along."

Saying that, Yu Lin bent, reached out, and effortlessly lifted Rod as if picking up a sack of grain, slinging him over his shoulder.

Jesus, seeing this, naturally raised no objection and obediently followed behind Yu Lin.

The two walked down the creaking wooden stairs.

In the first‑floor hall, the young woman still huddled in a corner, arms wrapped around her knees, face buried in them, body trembling continuously, clearly terrified to the extreme.

The sounds from the stairs made her shudder, and she lifted her head in terror, looking at the people descending.

When she saw Yu Lin and Jesus, her face first showed an instinctive relaxation.

After all, they had just followed the Priest upstairs.

However, when her gaze fell on the blood‑soaked, unconscious Rod Priest on Yu Lin's shoulder, that relaxation was instantly replaced by deeper terror!

"You… you…"

She seemed to see the most dreadful scene; her voice trembled, and she instinctively scrambled backward, limbs flailing, until her back pressed against the wall with no escape.

She lunged, pulling an old short knife for cutting bread from a hook on the adjacent wall, hands trembling as she pointed the tip at Yu Lin, shouting with a fierce yet trembling voice:

"You… what did you do to him?! You…"

Because of extreme fear, she babbled incoherently, unable to form a complete sentence, staring fixedly at Yu Lin as if looking at a murderer or something even more terrifying.

Yu Lin stopped, his gaze calm as he looked at her:

"Rest assured, the matter has been resolved."

"The Rod Priest was injured in his battle with the demon, simply exhausted and fell unconscious."

"We were just about to take him for treatment; the demon has already been expelled, and your husband…"

He gestured upward with his gaze, "He should be fine now, just temporarily weak and in need of rest. You can go up and look after him."

As Yu Lin's words reached her ears, a sense of peace and trust, like warm spring water, silently seeped into the woman's soul.

In her eyes, Yu Lin became someone she could trust.

Or rather, at this moment, in her eyes, Yu Lin was a great benefactor!

Faith is all that matters!

The woman's tense nerves instantly relaxed, the terror on her face fading quickly; she hurriedly tossed the short knife and repeatedly thanked:

"Th‑… thank you… thank you for your help…"

Yu Lin said little, merely giving her a slight nod, acknowledging her gratitude.

Then, he hoisted Rod, with Jesus, and walked straight out of the stone house that had just endured a clash.

Yu Lin's steps never ceased, yet his figure flickered slightly, as if merging into the light.

In the next instant, he, the Rod he carried, and the Jesus beside him were silently back at Yu Lin's residence in Nazareth.

In the living room, Yu Lin casually placed the unconscious Rod onto a wooden chair, letting him sit upright against the back.

Then, he extended his right index finger, and a speck of milky light quietly glowed at the tip.

With a gentle touch, that light seeped into Rod's chest.

The light entered his body; Rod's broken ribs, internal bruises, surface contusions and abrasions began to heal and recover at a visibly rapid pace.

His pallid face also quickly regained some color, and his breathing became steady and strong.

After a short while, Rod's tightly shut eyelids twitched a few times, then slowly opened.

His gaze was initially a bit dazed and scattered, clearly not fully awake, unaware of his surroundings.

At that moment, a voice with a mischievous tone sounded beside his ear:

"Rod Priest, you are already dead."

"This is Hell."

Rod: "........"

He just regained a clear mind and was instantly stunned by this sentence! Dead? Hell?!

"Wh... what?!"

"I... I went to Hell?!"

"Lord, what sin have I committed?! Please forgive me............. Is Hell like this?"

Rod sprang up from his chair, eyes wide open, panicking as he looked around.............. This, this doesn't look like the legendary Hell at all!

He actually saw Yu Lin beside him, smiling broadly at him, and he instantly understood.

Yu Lin is playing him!
