Chapter 496: Seeing Some Things

~5 min read 840 words

Inside the Divine King Hall.

Yu Lin sat on the seat, opposite him on the main throne a towering, broad‑shouldered figure whose appearance was almost a copy of the Greek Zeus, Jupiter, standing far away.

Several beautiful, graceful goddesses in light sheer gowns carried golden trays and jade vases brimming with delicacies, walking elegantly toward Yu Lin.

Clearly having received Jupiter's signal, they prepared to provide thorough service—kneading shoulders, pounding legs, hand‑feeding, and the like.

Yu Lin raised his hand and made a "stop" gesture: "Thank you all for the kindness, but no need to trouble yourselves; I'll do it myself."

The goddesses halted, looked at each other, then courteously bowed and quietly retreated to the side.

Jupiter on the main seat set down the massive Golden Wine Cup, raised an eyebrow, and asked in a resonant voice:

"What's wrong? Are my attendants not to your liking? Not pretty enough? Not gentle enough?"

"No problem! I'll bring you a fresh batch of even better ones right away."

Yu Lin shook his head: "It's not their fault. It's …"

He paused, his gaze sweeping over Jupiter and the goddesses who had stepped back, and said solemnly:

"I'm afraid these … are your clones."

Jupiter's broad smile froze instantly, his eyes bulging, and his voice rose a few pitches:

"What?! You think I'm a boundless fellow like Zeus?"

Yu Lin merely shrugged his shoulders:

"Can't be sure … hmm, never mind, I won't say that."

He decisively shifted the topic, staring straight at Jupiter:

"Where are my people?"

Seeing Yu Lin no longer linger on the awkward subject, Jupiter also stepped down the steps.

He waved his large hand:

"Open the door."

He gestured toward a Divine Attendant standing nearby.

The Divine Attendant bowed, walked to a side of the Great Hall, and pushed open a Side Door.

Inside, Tu Shan Zhi stepped out gracefully.

She still bore that cool visage, her body spotless, showing no sign of captivity or distress.

Following her emerged a shrunken qilin and a white tiger, both looking like large cats.

It seemed they had indeed suffered no abuse or torture.

As soon as they appeared, the Ding Pattern on Yu Lin's wrist flashed, and the Dragon Lord burst out impatiently.

He first glanced around warily, especially at Jupiter on the high seat, then darted to Yu Lin's side, clawing at Yu Lin's sleeve, and said swiftly:

"Well… Yu Lin, as long as the person is fine! We won't disturb you and this… catching up, ha! Take your time, have a good chat! We'll go explore elsewhere, see the scenery! Bye!"

Finishing, he gave Yu Lin no time to react, signaled the qilin and white tiger with his gaze, and the three seamlessly turned into three streaks of light, whooshing out of the temple in an instant, vanishing without a trace, fearing they'd be left behind if they lingered.

However, this time Tu Shan Zhi did not follow them out.

She stood where she was, her figure flickering slightly.

A gentle WhiteLight flashed, the human shape dissolved, replaced by a Nine-tailed Fox True Form.

She walked to Yu Lin's Throne, naturally lying down, gently resting her head on Yu Lin's leg.

"Aren't you playing with them anymore?"

"I'm tired of playing; let them play. I'll stay with you, master."

"Alright."

Yu Lin lifted his head again, looked at Jupiter on the main seat, and spoke:

"You, sitting here… are you also a Clone?"

Jupiter nodded, admitting, "Of course."

Yu Lin nodded thoughtfully and continued to ask:

"Then who is the true supreme? Your original self or his? Or perhaps you two Merge into One."

Jupiter stroked the dense beard on his chin, a pretentious smile appearing, and said leisurely:

"Well… hehe."

"He knows, I know, I know, he knows."

He repeated those tongue‑twisting lines.

"As for the rest…" Jupiter spread his hands, showing a teasing smile:

"I won't tell you; guess yourself."

Seeing he was unwilling to elaborate, Yu Lin wasn't surprised nor pressed.

"I won't guess."

Then, he stood up, straightened his robe, and said to Jupiter:

"Since you won't say, I won't ask further; I've received the person, thank you for the hospitality."

"I still have matters to attend to, so I won't disturb you further; we'll contact again when we have time."

Saying that, he prepared to leave with Tu Shan Zhi.

"Hey! Don't rush off!" Jupiter, seeing Yu Lin truly about to leave, quickly rose from the Throne and pleaded:

"Your friend's matter isn't urgent."

"Actually, from your friend I observed some… extremely interesting things!"

"You know who I'm talking about, why not… let's see together?"

"Huh? Interesting things?" Yu Lin halted, turned, and looked into Jupiter's eyes.

He sensed from Jupiter's tone and demeanor that the other party was neither joking nor simply trying to retain him.

The Roman Divine King seemed indeed to have, by some means, glimpsed certain things about Jesus.

Curiosity was piqued.

Yu Lin paused briefly, then nodded, "Alright."

"Then let's see what 'interesting' thing you actually saw."
