Chapter 632: At this moment, fate is altered

~10 min read 1,859 words

"Thor!"

Yemengjide's head rose high, hanging above Thor's head like an inverted mountain.

Its eyes were like two moons, icy, indifferent, devoid of any emotion, looking at Thor as if looking at an ant.

Thor stood before it.

His red beard was blown into a tangle by the wind, his iron glove gleamed in the darkness, his power belt pulled tight, binding his mountain-like body into an even more stalwart form.

"Come, let's fight to the death!"

He raised Thor's hammer; the Thunder Light on the hammerhead was not the usual crackling arc of electricity, but a solid, almost liquid light, like molten silver flowing on the hammerhead!!

Those rays spread from the hammerhead to his arms, from his arms to his shoulders, from his shoulders to his whole body, enveloping him entirely in a blazing white light.

He looked less like a god and more like a star fallen into the Human World!

"Kill!" he roared, his voice like thunder, shaking the pebbles on the plain into jumping.

Yemengjide lowered its head and opened its mouth.

Its mouth opened wide enough to swallow an entire mountain.

Venom dripped from its teeth, strand after strand, like a black waterfall pouring down from midair onto Thor's armor!

The armor hissed, began to smoke, began to corrode, began to melt!

But Thor did not retreat; he charged forward, smashing his hammer into the serpent's head!

Boom!!

The force of that blow.

If one must describe it, then — the entire Vegelide Plain sank a little!

As if the whole earth were pressed down by that blow's force, sinking an inch!

Yemengjide's head jerked sideways, smashing into the ground, blasting out a huge pit whose edges cracked with countless fissures spreading in all directions!

"Is that all?! Not enough!"

Yemengjide quickly raised its head again, higher than before, its mouth opened wider than before!

Its body rapidly shrank, directly coiling around Thor, the serpent's body tightening—one loop, two loops, three loops!

Then it bit Thor's arm, its fangs piercing the skin, venom swiftly injected!

Thor's ribs creaked, like a mast about to snap:

"No, I must break free............"

"This guy really has some strength!"

His face flushed crimson, his eyes bulged, his veins throbbed at his temples.

Gritting his teeth, he raised the hammer and brought it down!

Boom!

Struck the serpent's head—once, twice, three times.

Each strike carried world-shattering power, each made the earth tremble, each made the heavens change color.

The serpent's head shattered like a watermelon, brains and blood mixing together, splattering Thor's face!

Yemengjide's body went limp, sliding to the ground like a giant python stripped of its bones!

Thor stood beside the serpent's corpse, hammer still raised in his hand.

He grinned, revealing teeth stained red with blood:

"I killed it……"

His voice was soft, as if he were speaking to himself.

Then he coughed, and black blood welled from the corner of his mouth.

Yemengjide's venom had already seeped into his body, flowing into his veins, burning his five viscera and six bowels!

His body began to turn black, starting from the fingertips, spreading bit by bit like ink soaking through rice paper!

Each of his steps was heavy, leaving a deep footprint on the ground.

By the ninth step, he collapsed.

The hammer slipped from his hand, hit the ground, the Thunder Light flashed one last time, then went out!

"Damn, worth it!"

Thor thought, then closed his eyes.

At the moment of his death.

Garm burst out of the darkness.

Hell's watchdog, pitch black, blacker than night, its outline blurred like a moving shadow.

Its eyes were blood-red, like two blazing coals, especially striking in the darkness!

Saliva dripped from its jaws, dropping onto the ground and corroding small pits.

It lunged at Thor, intending to devour his corpse!

It was about to bite!

"Get lost!"

TiEr rushed forward, raised his sword, and blocked its sharp teeth!

The sword was bent into an arc, like a fully drawn bow!

TiEr's lone arm trembled, gritting his teeth, he gripped the sword with his left hand and thrust it into Garm's throat!

"A mangy dog dares to touch a hero's corpse? Die!"

"Pfft!"

The sword blade pierced the fur, pierced the muscle, and emerged from the back of Garm's neck!

Jia Mu's throat spewed blood, splashing onto TiEr's face, scalding and carrying a putrid stench.

Finally.

Flames from Hell rose up, enveloping TiEr before he could react!

With the great fire burning.

TiEr and Jia Mu turned to ash together!

On the other side.

Fulei stood before Shierte.

The Flame Giant towered several times higher than him, like a moving volcano.

But the next moment.

His size also grew, until he was the same height as Shierte!

"You aren't worthy to fight me, get lost!" Shierte said, his voice crackling like burning wood and flowing like magma between rocks.

"You'll only know after fighting! You'll die at my hands!" Fulei said.

"Arrogant! Die!"

Shierte raised his flame sword and struck down.

When the blade sliced the air, the air ignited, tearing a massive rift in the sky, from which a torrent of sparks poured down like countless meteors falling at once!

Fulei raised his antlers to block, but only for an instant; the antlers snapped!

They weren't cut, they were burned!

The flame sword slashed into Fulei's shoulder, breaking his collarbone, piercing his lung, and exiting through his back.

Fulei fell to his knees, the antlers slipping from his hands, drowned in blood.

He stared at Shierte, his mouth twitched as if to speak, but blood surged from his throat, choking his words.

"What are you pretending in front of me? The moment you brandish your victorious sword, you are doomed to die at my hands!"

"Hmph, overestimating yourself."

Shierte let out a cold laugh and strode forward!

"Get out of the way!"

Loki stood before Heimdall.

His face was as pale as a corpse, devoid of color; his clothes were torn into strips, hanging on his body, revealing a gaunt, skeletal frame beneath.

He looked less like a god and more like a corpse just risen from a grave.

Seeing Heimdall block him, he immediately scolded aloud.

Heimdall looked at him, raising the sword in his hand:

"Today, I will kill you, avenging them!"

"It should have been this way long ago! You scourge!"

He stood on the ruins of the Rainbow Bridge, behind him the collapsed Golden Palace, the burning Asgard, and countless fallen heroic spirits.

"Hehe, first achieve it then speak!"

At the instant Loki and Heimdall locked eyes, two completely different world laws collided in the void!

Heimdall's golden eyes ignited.

At this moment, they were not ordinary eyes but the embodiment of the Guardian Law, granting the ability to see through all illusion, all disguise, all lies!

In his vision, Loki was no longer a form, but a swirling vortex of ever‑changing rule turbulence: Deception, trickery, flame, pain, resentment, hatred!

Countless laws tangled, interwove, and gnawed at him, like an eternally unbreakable knot!

Loki also moved.

He did not rush toward Heimdall, but stood his ground, gently raising his hand!

The Deception Law spread from his fingertips, silent as ink dropping into clear water.

Heimdall's perceived world began to warp— the Golden Palace turned into ruins, the ruins into the Golden Palace, the corpses of heroic spirits rose, fell, fell, and rose again.

Past and future, reality and illusion, existence and void, all boundaries collapsed at Loki's fingertips!

Heimdall, however, closed his eyes.

Not conceding defeat, but no longer relying on sight.

The Guardian Law spread from him, forming an invisible ripple that surged outward in all directions!

Where the ripple passed, Loki's Deception Law was fixed, everything was "seen through"!

Heimdall saw clearly the source, flow, and destination of each law.

He knew where Loki would appear the next instant, where his weapon would strike, and at what moment his lies would shatter!

"Not bad," Loki grinned, withdrawing the Deception Law, but replacing it with something else— Fate!

It wasn't his own power, but a fragment he stole from the three Norn goddesses.

The moment the Fate Law descended, Heimdall's guardian ripple was torn!

Loki altered him into—

a destiny destined to be "shattered"!

But this also let Heimdall see his own destiny!

His sword would cut off Loki's head, Loki's head would smash into his chest, and he would die there, collapsing in a pool of blood alongside Loki!

He saw it, yet could not change it!

Because Fate says: you must die!

Then let's die together!

Heimdall opened his golden eyes; the two balls of light were no longer flames, but stars!

He used his last, everything, to exchange for one chance to draw his sword!

Everything gathered on this sword, turning into a beam of light.

That light was not blinding, very warm, like the fire in a winter hearth, like the first ray of sunshine falling on snow in spring!

Loki's Deception Law shattered.

The Fate Law also shattered.

Before absolute protection, deception had nowhere to hide; Loki's flame that could burn everything now lost its meaning!

Heimdall's sword cut off Loki's head.

No blood, no cries, only two sets of laws collapsing at the same instant.

Loki's head flew up, tumbling in the air, his eyes still open, his last strength driving it, making his head smash into Heimdall's chest!

"You will die too!"

"Flames!"

The flames collapsed, just deception!

Heimdall lowered his head to look at that skull on his chest; the Guardian Law shone for the last time, not to protect himself, but to keep that skull from flying away.

He and Loki fell together, the two broken laws slowly dissipating around them, like wind-scattered ashes.

The great fire burned everything again!

At the moment they died.

Shierte stood in the center of the plain, raising his Flame Sword.

"Everything will end!"

"I will destroy everything!"

Flames shot from the sword tip, rushing toward the sky, scattering the clouds, breaking the vault.

The World Tree burned, its branches and leaves curling, blackening, turning to ash in the fire.

Asgard burned, the pillars of the Golden Palace collapsed, the dome caved in, and the Silver Vine Flower withered in the flames.

The Nine Realms burned, the earth split open, and scorching magma surged from the fissures.

Stars fell from the heavens.

Time, ended at this moment!

Darkness surged from all directions, swallowing the flames, swallowing the ruins, swallowing all sound!

The last thread of light still hung at the horizon, thin as a spider's silk, weak enough to be blown out by a breath.

Until.

A figure walked out of the light.

Step by step, treading on the scorched land, boots grinding over ash, making a faint sound.

His robe fluttered in the wind, not a speck of dust clinging to it.

His hands were in his pockets, his expression calm, as if he were just out for a stroll.

Gazing at the plain soaked in fire and blood, at the fallen corpses, at the shattered weapons, at the ruins still burning.

"Looks like it's time for me to act."

"Now, fate is rewritten!"
