Chapter 651: Find a Way
Taifu walked to the side of the window.
Her hand stretched out, fingertips lightly hooking the sky outside the window.
The sun moved.
The red sphere hanging in the western sky slowly sank, flying toward her palm.
It flew faster and faster, grew smaller and smaller, its color shifting from red to orange, from orange to gold, from gold to blazing white.
When it landed in her palm, it had become a ball of light the size of a fist.
The light was blinding, flooding the whole living room in a blank white.
Outside the window.
In the sky, the sun still hung there, orange‑red, slowly sinking below the horizon.
The afterglow filled half the sky, no different from just before.
Taifu turned, cradling the ball of light as she walked toward Yu Lin.
The light in her palm pulsed with her steps.
She stopped in front of Yu Lin and offered the miniature sun in her hand.
Just like last time.
The fish in Yu Lin's mind leapt out.
It shot out from his brow, traced an arc in the air, opened its mouth, and swallowed the ball of light in one gulp.
The light flashed inside the fish's mouth, then went dark.
The fish flicked its tail, swam back to Yu Lin's brow, and vanished.
The next moment, words appeared before Yu Lin's eyes.
【Mission: Help Atum create the world】
【Reward: Ra's primal power】
Ra, the Egyptian sun god.
Atum, also a sun god.
In the beginning they were different gods, but later on.
They evolved into different stages of the same god.
The morning sun is called Kaibuli, the noon sun Ra, and the evening sun Atum.
The Trinity together form a complete sun god.
The one who created the world is Atum, the sun god of dusk.
His process of creation differs from that of other gods, and is even somewhat awkward..........
Through his self‑stimulating act, he begot a pair of sibling gods—Shu, god of air and dryness, and Tefnut, goddess of moisture and rain.
Yu Lin stared at the line of text before him, silent for a moment.
What should he do?
He certainly couldn't... cough, impossible!
Let's go see first.
He gathered his scattered thoughts and looked at Taifu.
"Alright. Anything else? If not, I'm going to check it out." He stood up.
Taifu quickly rose as well, hands clasped before her in a respectful posture.
"Nothing more, then I won't disturb you."
She stepped back, turned, and walked toward the door.
She pushed the door open, stepped outside, and gently closed it behind her.
After she left,
Yu Lin's form turned into points of light and scattered.
The light points drifted out the window, rose into the sky, passed through clouds, through the void, through time.
When Yu Lin appeared again, there was no ground beneath his feet and no sky above his head.
He stood in a void, surrounded by no light, no sound, nothing familiar.
But it wasn't total darkness; that black had texture, like silk, like deep water, like some substance slowly flowing.
It wrapped around Yu Lin, flowing past him with no direction or purpose, just flowing.
Nothing at all.
Yet it wasn't truly nothing.
Yu Lin could sense the presence of something nearby, very faint, like a seed that hasn't sprouted buried deep in the soil.
He walked toward that direction.
There was no path underfoot; he simply walked forward, each step landing on the void yet finding purchase, as if the void itself upheld him.
It was as if the void welcomed him, knowing he would come, having paved the way in advance.
He walked for a long time—perhaps an instant, perhaps eternity.
In this place without time, length has no meaning.
Here is the Primordial Chaos Water, also called Nun.
Next, in Yu Lin's sight, he saw a protrusion ahead.
Rising from the void, it was slightly lighter than the surrounding black, like a water‑soaked piece of wood, or a lump of dough beginning to ferment.
It slowly writhed, its surface pattern shifting—sometimes like human skin, sometimes like tree bark, sometimes like something indescribable.
It was gestating something; Yu Lin could feel that power gathering inside, swelling, awaiting the moment it would break free.
Yu Lin stood there, waiting.
He didn't know how long he had been waiting—maybe a few days, maybe a few years, maybe just a few seconds.
As just mentioned, in this void time has no meaning.
Until.
The bulge began to split!
Like a seed breaking its shell, the crack extended from the top downward, growing longer and wider!
Light surged out of the fissure.
His hand emerged first, then his head, then his shoulders...........
Atum was born!
Atum stood on the water, his toes touching the surface, and around his tips a ring of ultra‑fine ripples spread outward, circle after circle, farther and fainter, until they vanished beyond sight.
Then Atum sank down.
In the next instant, the water surface arched upward from beneath Atum's feet, forming a mound!
The brown mound was damp, its surface dotted with Water Droplets that rolled down the slope and merged back into the water!
The mound grew taller and higher, turning from a small bulge into a little hill.
Its top was flat, its edges steep and sharply defined, not natural but as if carved with a knife.
Atum stood at the mound's summit, his feet upon the first piece of land rising above the water.
This symbolized that the foundations of all later temples would stem from this piece of ground.
In other words, a world now possessed a fixed point.
But Atum kept his eyes closed.
His eyelids were thick, his skin slack, the wrinkles at the corners of his eyes piled together.
Until.
Yu Lin's voice came:
"Won't you take a look?"
The next moment.
Atum snapped his eyes open!
Light burst from Atum's eye sockets, exploding instantly, as if someone in a pitch‑black room had suddenly pulled back the curtains!
The beam was Golden Light, pure Golden Light, like molten gold pouring down from the heavens!
The light shone on the mound, on the water surface, and on the edge of the void.
The water surface shifted from black to deep blue, from deep blue to light blue, from light blue to Golden Light!
The Water Droplets on the mound glittered under the Golden Light.
The light continued to spread, passing through the water surface, through the void, through those nameless darknesses!
It kept shining until it reached the spot where Yu Lin stood, illuminating his face!
Yu Lin did not blink.
He watched Atum standing at the mound's peak, his body enveloped in Golden Light, his pupils also Golden, with a sun burning inside, hot enough to set the whole world alight.
This is the First Ray of Light!
But.
Yu Lin began to worry.
Because after waiting so long, he realized Atum had no intention of self‑comfort.
He just stood there, motionless like a statue.
So, how to make him start self‑comforting.......... uh.
"Hey, I've got it!"
"Lao Jun has plenty of weird pills, surely there's one that stimulates desire!"
