Chapter 127: Changing Again and Again

~7 min read 1,213 words

Sinuoli gasped as he looked at this group of Savage Orcs. He was no follower of Tzeentch; as a true-born creation of the Old Ones, Sinuoli did not wish to worship the Great Conspirator, nor did he like the uncertainty of plans.

"The most cunning Mork tells me, this little runt cannot die, at least, not die in this spot right now!" Wuerzhage-Lv Xianzhi opened his blood-filled maw while mounted on a war boar.

Sinuoli could not see the expression on his face, for the Savage Orc's large face was covered by a ferocious mask. The mask was painted in red and white, and stuck with colorful feathers from some unknown bird.

Rumor had it that this mask was painted by Wurzag based on his imagination of Mork, but under the influence of I Reckon Power, it seemed to truly grant the wearer great power from the savage gods, enhancing their defensive and spellcasting abilities.

"In the name of the Mother Goddess Valaya! Skarsnik's Grudge shall be settled this very day!" Sinuoli roared; he was naturally not going to be intimidated by a few empty words.

To save someone from his hands by merely flapping one's lips was absolutely impossible, even if the visitor was the Chosen of Gork and Mork, the most powerful spellcaster among the contemporary Greenskins, Wuerzhage-Lv Xianzhi!

"Ohoho! Short-stack, looks like you're determined to block my path?" Wurzag danced about on his war boar.

"Watch out!" Sinuoli shouted upon seeing this. Every movement of this legendary Greenskin Shaman, known as the Badlands Dance King, could almost channel the surrounding Waaagh energy, producing highly destructive effects.

"Gork, stomp him!"

Wurzag raised his arms, gesturing wildly to pray to the heavens. Accompanied by his roar, a ghostly green Big Foot descended from the sky, stomping toward Sinuoli and the Dwarfs around him, accompanied by a loud crunching sound.

Wuerzhage-Lv Xianzhi was perhaps close enough with Gork that his Big Waaagh Spell cast extremely quickly; Sinuoli's warning had almost no effect, though even if the warning had been timely, he and his men would have had nowhere to hide on the narrow mountain path anyway.

Although this Big Waaagh Spell did not cause much damage to the Anvil Guard in their heavy Plate Armor, the powerful impact sent the Dwarfs who were directly stomped upon flying, destroying their originally dense formation. Skarsnik keenly seized this opportunity and charged out with his fastest personal guards.

"Die!" Although Sinuoli had also been knocked to the ground, he refused to give up. As his left hand lifted, a Rune fireball shot straight toward Skarsnik!

"What a troublesome shorty! But I must listen to Mork's words!" Wurzag's eyes lit up, and the deepest malice from Mork gathered into a green beam that shot from his eyes, though the target was not Sinuoli himself but the fireball he had shot.

With a "Puchi!" sound, Sinuoli's Rune fireball was neutralized in mid-air, and the green beam even had enough power left to strike the Plate Armor on his back.

Sinuoli let out a muffled groan and rolled two or three times; he turned his head to look at the two dents in his Plate Armor, realizing the gap in strength between himself and the Greenskin Shaman before him.

Sinuoli knew that this Grudge Gaze was not a spell cast by Wurzag himself, but a skill attached to the strange mask on his face. If it had been a spell cast after the Greenskin Seer had finished a dance, Sinuoli would likely not have been able to withstand it.

Skarsnik scrambled to hide behind Wurzag, though he did not know why this strange fellow of the same kind wanted to save him—yes, Orcs and Goblins were both Greenskins, but they were at most the same kind, and did not consider each other to be of the same race.

But Skarsnik could only choose to trust this mad yet powerful Savage Orc who kept Gork and Mork on his lips.

During this time, the Dwarfs had not been idle; the three groups of men had converged and set up the formation the Dwarfs liked best: front-line melee to hold the line, and rear-line ranged output.

Seeing that there was no opportunity to exploit on the Dwarf side, Wurzag, who had come to save the Goblin in the first place, did not want to linger, so he turned his boar's head and prepared to leave.

Just as the Dwarfs under Sinuoli's command were sighing that their archenemy had been snatched away by an uninvited guest at the last moment, they suddenly heard Sinuoli's voice.

"Hey! Wurzag, I suspect you've got the wrong person; I reckon I am also a Chosen of Gork and Mork!" Sinuoli suddenly spoke up.

The Dwarfs present were dumbfounded by these words; no one understood what was wrong with this Chosen of the Goddess. Perhaps? Perhaps he had popped another handful of the fresh, bewildering mushrooms they had just captured?

Wuerzhage-Lv Xianzhi turned around upon hearing this, looked Sinuoli up and down, and then burst into maniacal laughter.

"Hahahaha! Short-stack, are you trying to make me laugh so hard I can't cast my spells? If so, then you've succeeded!"

"What are you laughing at, you poor fellow blinded by appearances! And you have the nerve to call yourself a Green Prophet? You'd better step down for me sooner rather than later!" Sinuoli said dismissively, mocking him faintly.

"Hahahaha! To be a Chosen of Gork and Mork, you first have to be a Greenskin, right?" Wurzag and the Savage Orcs behind him laughed until they were bent double.

"Come, give me a cloak!" Sinuoli ordered a Ranger, and he took a green cloak and draped it over himself. "How about now?" Sinuoli asked.

"Short-stack, what are you doing?" Wurzag was stunned; he was baffled by Sinuoli's abstract behavior. He decided to set aside the issue of Greenskin appearance definitions for now, lest this mad Dwarf find a bucket of green paint or a Ransequikui to dye himself "Greenskin" in the literal sense.

"I reckon, I reckon you at least have to be Waaagh enough?" Wurzag changed the subject.

"Am I not Waaagh enough? Are my boys and I not Waaagh enough?" Sinuoli spun the hammer in his hand, imitating the Greenskin way of speaking, and gestured with his chin toward the Night Goblin corpses covering the ground behind him.

"Hmm, alright, I admit, ever since I received the grace of Gork and Mork, you are one of the more Waaagh fellows I've ever seen." Wurzag was relatively respectful of reality, and he affirmed Sinuoli's combat results.

"But, I reckon, we Greenskins are all both cruel and cunning, both cunning and cruel! A short-stack like you with a head full of mud, you think you're worthy of comparing yourself to us?"

Wurzag continued to mock him. Upon hearing his words, the Greenskins started shouting again, and even the small handful of Night Goblins who had just escaped death began to act like foxes borrowing the tiger's might.

Sinuoli put his hands behind his back and waved them repeatedly to suppress the anger of his clansmen behind him, "Cruel?

What a joke? Am I not cruel enough?"

Thanks to Wuming Jianmie, don't get emotional because of the novel, monthly ticket.
