Chapter 482: Movements at Dork Rock

~7 min read 1,388 words

"Battle report from Eight Peaks, Your Majesty!"

Inside Gaoyuanbao, the door to Sinuoli's office was knocked upon. After establishing numerous positions, he needed to spend time focusing on operations and making timely adjustments, even though widely referencing the complete administrative systems of his past life could not be achieved overnight.

"A battle report rather than a plea for help? Then it seems to be good news. Read it!"

After passing a lively but relatively stable few months, the Dwarf Demigod straightened his posture on the throne, a faint murderous aura creeping to the corners of his brows. If necessary, he did not mind stretching his limbs.

"Greenskins! The great scrap in the Badlands has come to an end. The Black Orc Warlord Grimgor Ironhide has overturned the various tribes led by Red Fang and seized control of the Greenskin spiritual center—Dork Rock."

"As expected, there is no one more 'Waaagh' than Ironhide at this point in time."

Sinuoli muttered to himself; he still had to thank this Warlord, who firmly believed that "Greenskins are never slaves," for making breakthrough progress from the side of the Chaos Dwarfs.

"The former master of Dork Rock, Geerya-Edan, fled south in a sorry state with his own War Pig Cavalry. After consolidating a few small tribes and the stragglers of the Evil Moon in the Badlands, he is attempting to invade Eight Peaks."

"I seem to recall that after Gulu, it is the most 'Waaagh'? How is the battle situation?"

"King Belegar reports that the Red Fang tribe is adept at using War Pig Cavalry and chariots, moving with great speed. Although he repelled their two attacks, he is still unable to effectively pursue and completely annihilate them."

"Round and round, we are back to the old problem."

Sinuoli stroked his beard. There were indeed many Humans stationed at Eight Peaks, but they were primarily infantry and light cavalry. Dealing with Goblin cavalry riding spiders or wolves was manageable, but they were inadequate when facing the impact force of war pigs.

"He states that Eight Peaks is guarded by the Rune Colossus you provided, and a group of remnants and defeated soldiers could not possibly summon a Gork and Mork Colossus, so the fortress itself is safe. However, he worries they might turn to threaten the supply lines to the Southlands, and requests your instructions!"

Sinuoli's military telegraph operator was now the most sought-after civil service position in the Dwarf Realms. He did not know whose connections this quick-witted and articulate young man had used to get placed here.

The Ancestor Goddess had once again manifested in the Mortal World, declaring that the Dwarf Realms had entered a brand new Revival Era. The great Demigod they jointly chose was the helmsman of this era. Working by his side meant supreme glory and a bright future.

"Notify Yanmei to dispatch an air squadron. Luke's horses should be about raised enough; notify him to select two hundred heavy cavalry from the Citizen Cavalry to support Eight Peaks, under the command of Belegar."

Regarding the air force, Sinuoli had clarified a three-three system—three aircraft form a small squadron, three small squadrons form a medium squadron, and three medium squadrons form a large squadron. The large squadron commander reports directly to the Air Force Minister; the Southlands did not yet have three full-strength large squadrons!

As for cavalry, despite establishing a relatively good relationship with Bretonnia, Sinuoli firmly believed in the need to build his own forces. He had obtained some stallions from the Star Song Sisters and had selected a squire named Luke from the initial Expeditionary Force to breed warhorses in the Southlands.

"Citizen Legion" was the name Sinuoli had set for the Human troops in the Southlands; they had been expanded from that batch of troops that supported the Orion Arrow Regiment. Although currently limited to the Army, Sinuoli was also thinking about the possibility of further development.

He had spent nearly two generations basically eliminating the concept of "inferiors" like serfs. The residents of the Southlands started as citizens, and possessing basic rights made their will to defend their homeland extremely firm.

With the support of Dwarf productivity, the cavalry equipment in the Southlands was on par with the Knightly Orders of the Old World. However, in terms of combat effectiveness, there was still a gap compared to knights who were well-nourished from childhood and trained day and night. As for the ability to command small units and manage villages that most knights possessed, they lacked it.

"I am not going. Tell Belegar that he can handle a mere defeated opponent. When Geerya-Edan was at his peak, he couldn't even dominate one region, let alone now that his 'Waaagh' energy has diminished after a defeat."

Seeing the telegraph operator still looking unsatisfied, Sinuoli added a word of instruction. He even suspected that if he went, it would make things more complicated; those two savage gods had long held a grudge against him.

"Ironhide needs some time to restore his own forces. I sincerely doubt whether Black Orcs can reproduce via spores, and even if they could, there would inevitably be many limitations."

On the map, there was a large, arrogant green skull mark to the northwest of Eight Peaks. The geographical location of Dork Rock was too critical; it blocked the west side of Death Pass and guarded the upper reaches of the Blood River. Possessing it not only allowed one to flow downstream to suppress the Blood River Valley, but also to reach the Sea Gate directly. As for the rich gold deposits, they were considered incidental at the current stage.

The Dwarf King thought deeply. If he really had to face Ironhide, that star of misfortune, it would be a victory for Belegar just to not lose his life. How could he weaken these big, tough guys as much as possible before the decisive battle broke out?

"Ship some equipment to other tribes that oppose him? But if these guys are defeated and the equipment falls into Ironhide's hands, that would be trouble!"

Mentioning the "Immortal Guard" clad in master-forged heavy armor around Grimgor, the two Chaos Dwarf leaders, Ironhand and Ash, both sighed incessantly and beat their chests. They did not know how many times they had slaughtered bull units like a massacre, and how many times they had broken through encirclements under thunderous artillery fire.

Sinuoli knew that it would be an epic battle—no less than the retaking of Eight Peaks—and he also knew that the Order side, having just experienced a great war, needed to rest and digest.

At the same time, whether it was controlling Dork Rock or killing Ironhide, both were extremely difficult to achieve—the Dork Rock established by Gorthor the Cruel stood there, and Warlords of the Badlands and even the whole world hoped to stand beneath it to summon a 'Waaagh' with a surging green tide.

And Ironhide? He already possessed peerless combat skills and a ferocious physique; breaking through the limits of mortals under the blessing of the brutal Gork was inevitable, and even if he went all out, it would be difficult to keep him there.

"Boom! Clang!"

"My great axe is already thirsty! Little ones, tell me, who else here can fight? I want to go and smash him hard!"

Dork Rock, within the ferocious ramparts, dust flew in the plaza. The Greenskins, a race born for war, did not understand what it meant to recuperate. The boss, standing on a high platform in the shadow of Dork Rock, organized a private scrap to fill the vacancies of the chieftains.

"The boy who fled from the south says there is a Dwarf over there who is very powerful."

Answering from the side was a guy completely wrapped in iron armor; it was like an Infernal Guard magnified to the size of an Ogre.

"Short-stack? I have to bend over to slice him! Not satisfying, not satisfying!"

Without a doubt, the boss was a size larger than his adjutant; "broad-shouldered and thick-waisted" seemed slightly insufficient to describe him. Knotted muscles squeezed out from under the unsettling rust-red armor.

"Boss, that Dwarf is no ordinary one. Legend has it that he has banished all the Greater Daemons of the Four Gods, and Grom the Paunch didn't last three moves under his hammer!"
