Chapter 483: Attacking What Must Be Saved
"A Greater Daemon of the Four Gods? Bullshit! If the stunties' skills were even half as big as their bragging, they wouldn't have been smashed through by us! Lads, WAAAGH!"
Hearing the adjutant's words, a bloody glint flickered in the Warlord's single eye. The merit of defeating a Chaos Demon Army was hard currency in this world; though he spoke lightly of it, he still put away his contempt.
"Waaagh!"
The Greenskins in the chaotic formation and those watching the battle responded loudly to the Warlord's roar. For them, following a Warlord fierce and capable enough to embark on an endless journey until they joined the Great Green was a simple pursuit.
"Da Orks, that guy is named Sinuoli, right? You shouldn't go find him now."
Before the battle cry had faded, a Savage Orc wearing a fierce mask emerged from behind. Compared to the disciplined Black Orcs around Tiepi, he was a complete anomaly, with his garish mask and tattooed, bare chest.
"Hmm~"
A muffled grunt came from the Warlord's throat, and the chieftains standing on both sides shrank back and lowered their heads. After being thoroughly beaten into submission, they had long since dared not offer any dissenting opinions.
"I've seen that Dwarf, in the Grey Mountains. He is not ordinary, very not ordinary."
Wuerzhage-LvXianzhi changed his usual cryptic tone, using the most serious voice he could muster to suppress Tiepi's restless battle intent.
"Is this your Da Orks, or Theirs?"
Grimgor took a deep breath, offering the Green Prophet the only patience he had. He knew that if it weren't for the guy before him finding him with a troop of men on that dust-choked day, he would likely still be struggling with guerrilla warfare between the Chaos Dwarf barracks and factories.
Wuerzhage claimed to be the chosen of Gork and conveyed Their will; the blessing of a "name" allowed Tiepi's force to grow rapidly. His strategy and powerful Waaagh Magic were also great aids in wreaking havoc in the Dark Lands.
"In the north, just as we were about to enter the World's Edge Mountains. You wanted to go and clash with that group of shaved-head, dyed-hair Dwarfs, and the reason I strongly opposed it was because Mork urgently warned through the Great Green that Sinuoli was blocking the way ahead!"
Wuerzhage did not respond directly but brought up an old matter. Not taking the Peak Pass but forcibly crossing the snow mountains caused great losses to the already exhausted warband. After entering the Badlands, they had to lie low for a period, and the capture of Black Rock Fortress was delayed as a result.
"That was then! Now we are in high spirits! Back then, the war boars added up to no more than ten, and there wasn't a single war machine! The gear in our hands was all stuff used by stunties and beastmen, not a single piece was handy! Even so, two lads couldn't even get a piece of iron! What about now? We have everything! Trolls, spiders, and those things the technician lads tinkered with! With these, even if Hashut came, I'd hack Him twice with my axes!"
Tiepi picked up his great axe and swung it in the air. His force's rapid progress in the early stages to the gates of Zharr-Naggrund was because the anti-Ironhand faction led by Gortz was fueling the fire from behind.
After Ironhand was deposed and exiled for his failures, the Chaos Dwarfs united once more, and the Greenskins, lacking a base, began to retreat steadily. That frustration of having power but nowhere to use it made Tiepi extremely resentful, and he was eager to strike back.
"There is still potential here, Da Orks you can become even more Waaagh!"
"Gnoblars-bred! You, you, and you, all come here! I'll give you cowards a good drill!"
The Green Prophet was originally from the Badlands, and his reputation among the newly joined recruits was extremely loud. Tiepi resisted the urge to defy him while integrating the troops, but his itching fists also needed a place to scratch.
"Should we investigate, Your Majesty? We can certainly sort out this matter in the Southlands."
In the throne room of Gaoyuanbao, a letter lay before Snuori, its unique ink glowing with phosphorescence. Andemuge and the two West Depot commanders under his command were discussing it anxiously.
"No need to investigate. To not even allow someone to deliver a letter would be to underestimate the heroes of the world too much."
The Demigod sighed. He was also shocked the moment he received the letter, because the sender was the Undead Demigod Arkhan the Black, who had left Nehekhara for the Old World!
"The Council of Thirteen has held an emergency meeting to discuss the issue of Eight Peaks being reclaimed by us. The Horned Rat is furious and has dispatched a Decaying Lord with full authority to preside over the counterattack plan against us."
"How does that bag of bones know these things? Could it be false information to confuse us? It is impossible for it to give up those two volumes of evil scriptures!"
Andemuge raised an eyebrow. Arkhan had once broken into Gaoyuanbao in an attempt to retrieve the Nine Books of Nagash. Although he only took away an empty box, it was a great humiliation for the clansmen tasked with guarding it.
"The rats want to win it over, and even Nagash's other minions, to form a siege net against us. I don't know how they dare; it was Alcadizaar's assassination that led to the Lord of Undeath being banished for the first time."
Snuori muttered. In addition to a warning, Arkhan's letter also expressed a willingness to cooperate—if he were willing to return the Nine Scrolls, the Lich King's powerful magic might be vented upon the rats.
"Arkhan too, doesn't it know that after its master is resurrected, it will suck dry... No, wait, how could it possibly know!"
Snuori slammed the table suddenly. He was once again thinking from the perspective of a transmigrator. His view of Nagash as an uncompromising mortal enemy was based on things that had not yet happened, and he had reason to believe the Lord of Undeath would not reveal his post-resurrection plans to his subordinates.
The rats who knew of the conspiracy from thousands of years ago were long dead, and the new generation fantasized about the possibility of cooperating with the Undead. And from Arkhan's perspective, Snuori's targeting of them was out of the Dwarfs' defense of order; there was no irreconcilable conflict between the two, and it might not be impossible to win them over.
"The rats don't want to confront me in the Southlands anymore. Relying on the various rat nests across the Old World plus the army of Skavenblight, any fortress outside of Everpeak is in danger."
"That Demon City is in the Withered Swamp. If it were me, the first target would be the Vault Mountains and, and Tongshanbao!"
Andemuge exclaimed while looking at the map. Besides being close, Tongshanbao provided the greatest support to Belegar, which also led to a significant decline in its own strength. Lord Lagos was not considered good at fighting, and it was feared he would struggle to form an effective resistance.
"This is attacking what we must save!"
The transmigrator sighed. Twenty percent of the residents of Eight Peaks came from the Vault Mountains; once their homeland was attacked, the hearts of the people would inevitably waver. Lady Anya might even return to reinforce them, and the newly acquired territory would fall into instability.
"Should we immediately notify Tongshanbao to enter a state of combat readiness, and then assemble the troops?"
"The commotion is too big; there's no time."
"Then, then should we prepare a Helicopter for you to rush back first to preside over the situation?"
"Even if I could make it in time, it's hard to say if bringing those dozen or so people would be enough to save the Lagos family. Once we fall into a passive position, we cannot follow the enemy's rhythm." Snuori pressed his hand down to signal the West Depot members not to be anxious.
"They can attack what we must save, but why can't we do the same? But what is it that they must save?"
