Chapter 133: 「The Inquisitor」

~8 min read 1,454 words

The Eldar Farseer had just felt the excruciating pain in his soul subside slightly when he felt his neck being tightly gripped, and his right arm severed from his body.

The intense pain made his raised left arm tremble slightly; just as he had not yet had time to launch an attack, the Inquisitor's eyes flashed, and the Xenos, struck by "Psychic Piercing," felt as if his brain were about to explode, blood spraying from his mouth and nose.

The Arbiter Lord landed on the ground, carrying the unconscious Eldar Farseer, as the Eldar charged in from all directions.

Every second, Windrider riders fell from their bikes, but the Eldar did not dodge; they had to immediately rescue the captured Farseer from the monkeys.

The two fastest Eldar, in a pincer formation, lunged toward Howard.

Wary of the Farseer being in enemy hands, they did not use their Shuriken Catapults, but instead took up their Power Spears from the weapon mounts on their bikes.

The Windrider riders turned their jetbikes swiftly when they were only a few meters from Howard.

The airflow traced a graceful arc as the two Eldar Warriors raised their Power Spears simultaneously, thrusting toward Howard.

The Magistrate took a step forward, passing through the Eldar's swift attack.

The two Eldar Samurai were shocked that the black-armored monkey actually possessed such terrifying speed, and they immediately turned their jetbikes around.

The Magistrate swung his Power Sword, instantly completing six thrusts according to the 16th article of "Osber-Waya."

The two Eldar Samurai were unable to dodge and were torn into several pieces by the blue energy field, sliding off their inertia-driven jetbikes.

A moment later, except for the six captured Windrider riders, the other Sam-Han Eldar who had invaded the Magistrate's jurisdiction were all killed.

Howard carried the unconscious Eldar Farseer to the interrogation room, where the Techmarine immediately used shackles specially made for the Eldar Farseer, resembling thorns, to pierce through the Xenos's left arm and legs.

The unconscious Eldar Farseer's body trembled instinctively from the pain as countless spikes were driven into him.

Subsequently, a member of the Honor Guard roughly tore off his faceplate, still furious over the death of his battle-brother.

The Eldar Farseer's head knocked heavily against the chair, revealing a pale face, with drops of blood spilling onto the floor.

The Eldar Farseer gradually regained consciousness after being injected with the Interrogation Drug developed from experiments on his captured kin.

The Eldar's keen perception allowed him to still feel the excruciating pain in his soul, and he also discovered that his psychic powers had been suppressed.

The chains piercing his bones were crafted from Anti-Psychic Material, isolating him from the Warp.

Just as he was still somewhat dazed, he heard a clumsy and unpleasant Eldar language.

"Sam-Han... Farseer."

Howard spoke using the Eldar language he had only recently partially learned, and after focusing the Eldar Farseer's attention on himself, he switched back to High Gothic.

"I believe you can speak Gothic."

The Inquisitor saw the Eldar lift his chin, looking at him with contempt, and a smile tugged at the corner of his mouth.

"Very good, I like your unyielding nature."

As the Inquisitor spoke, his eyes flashed like lightning, as if electricity were flickering across them.

The next instant, the Eldar Farseer felt as if currents of electricity were darting through his soul, the currents connecting into a barbed whip that lashed his soul repeatedly.

The excruciating pain in his soul made him knit his brows, and just as he was being tortured to agony by the "Whip of Agony," High Gothic sounded in his ears again.

"Can you speak High Gothic?"

The Eldar Farseer did not want to answer the monkey's words, but he felt an unimaginable pressure, feeling as if currents of electricity were darting through his mind, connecting into a barbed whip that lashed his soul repeatedly.

He felt both pain and numbness, as if originating from the depths of his brain, impossible to resist, leaving him only able to tremble and his knees to go weak.

This pain was even more agonizing to the Eldar Farseer than having his body pierced by countless spikes or being tortured by the Anti-Psychic Material.

It was a searing pain that struck directly at his spirit!

The Eldar Farseer finally spoke unwillingly, "The monkey's language is of no difficulty to me," he only wanted to use the opportunity to mock the black-armored monkey in front of him to slightly reduce the pain.

If the other party gave him release out of anger, that would be for the best.

"Your language, like your incompletely evolved bodies, is monotonous and dull."

The Inquisitor immediately felt as if something had melted inside his body, and it was even more pronounced than when he had interrogated previous Eldar captives; he continued to ask.

"Your name?"

The Eldar Farseer felt the electric whip in his mind seem to raise high, the extreme pain warning him to answer the question, but he still stubbornly did not speak.

The Inquisitor immediately channeled his spirituality, and the "Whip of Agony" lashed fiercely at the Xenos's soul.

"Your name?"

"Xiaokeluosi."

The Eldar Farseer spat out a part of his name, buying temporary relief from the pain.

Howard had that feeling of digestion again, a sneer hanging on the corner of his mouth as he mocked.

"I thought the arrogant Eldar were so tough; I see you are not much better than a monkey."

"Don't... get cocky."

The Eldar Farseer said with difficulty, "You won't get any useful information."

"Won't get any?"

Howard laughed, a "Whip of Agony" lashing onto Xiaokeluosi's soul.

"Tell me, what did you foresee?"

"What prophecy drove you to come to this star sector?"

While in agony, Xiaokeluosi could not help but be shocked; his kin had already failed to endure the torture and had confessed the information they knew to the monkeys.

The Eldar Farseer felt angry at his kin's weakness, but he immediately understood the reason for their submission.

The black-armored monkey in front of him possessed a bizarre ability, actually being able to whip his soul directly; this was the first time he had heard of such an ability.

"How did you do it? Why can you whip my soul?"

"Eldar, you have no right to ask me questions."

The Inquisitor said, using another "Whip of Agony" to make the Eldar captive recognize his status.

"Answer my question, what is your prophecy?"

"Crude monkey, you are just like your Tyrant; you are the enemies of Sam-Han, and you must die."

The "Inquisitor" felt a sense of digestion again, and he immediately realized that the answer to his question was hidden within it.

【The Eldar Farseer had prophesied that the Sam-Han Craftworld, the Legion, and the Gene-Father would be enemies.】

"Tell me, where is Jingjie Star?"

The Eldar Farseer did not speak; he was both in Shock and terror in his heart.

He knew that humans had named that Planet Jingjie Star, a place of vital importance to Sam-Han.

【The monkeys actually really know that world exists; the prophecy was indeed not wrong. Ninglu and his progeny are enemies of Sam-Han; they cannot be allowed to find that world.】

"Not talking?" The "Inquisitor" curled the corners of his mouth, "We still have plenty of time to play slowly."

"Believe me, you will tell me everything I want to know."

"Dream on," Xiaokeluosi said mockingly, "Ninglu and all of you will be destroyed, Death..."

Suffering a soul lash caused the Eldar Farseer's words to come to an abrupt halt.

He saw the fury flickering in Howard's black eyes, "Xenos, you are a captive; you have no right to address the Gene-Father by name."

Just as the "Inquisitor" was interrogating the Eldar Farseer, on Terra, Ninglu was in the ground floor hall, listening to Arsena's report.

"My lord, I found rubbings of ancient Achaemenid Dynasty murals in the Cranium Library and gained inspiration from them."

"Besides this, I also from..."

After listening to the briefing from the "Reader," Ninglu nodded with satisfaction.

"Well done, continue."

"My lord, there is one more matter that requires your decision."

"Today, many families have sought me out; they all hope to obtain your support."

Ninglu tapped his fingers lightly on the back of his chair; these nobles did not know Huang Laohan's thoughts—that Primarchs and Space Marines were tools of war.

Not a single Primarch or Astartes would enter the future Council of Terra, including the Warmaster in his memories and Guilliman, who had demonstrated outstanding governance and political ability, and naturally, that included him.

【Hmm, it wouldn't hurt to meet them; I also need eyes, ears, and spokespeople on Terra.】
