Chapter 2: The First Step to Changing Fate
The Emperor betrayed the oath he had sworn with blood and promised with his soul.
The long-planned reckoning of the Chaos Four Gods descended, and a seven-colored Storm engulfed the laboratory.
Each gestation pod was pulled into the Empyrean by a vortex, flying toward its fated Planet.
Ninglu opened his eyes abruptly, thinking to himself.
【The first step to changing fate; now, let's see if my golden finger is up to the task.】
The Warp is also known as the Sea of Souls, the Empyrean, the Non-material Universe, and the Chaos Realm; different people use the terms of their own cultural habits to refer to it.
The Sea of Souls is composed of pure energy; it is like a mirror of the physical universe, formed by the projections of the emotions and souls of all sentient beings in the material universe.
At the same time Ninglu opened his eyes, a powerful conviction erupted within his heart.
【My fate is controlled by myself; neither the Four Ruinous Powers nor Huang Laohan can determine my fate.
I am going to the Obscurus Sector, to Vostonia, the main planet of the Vostonia system!】
Black mist rose and enveloped him; his intense conviction propelled the black mist to rotate at an accelerated speed, and the seven-colored vortex was affected, gradually deviating from its preset trajectory.
Tzeentch, the "Fate Weaver," was the first to notice the change in the Fate Silk; the Eleventh Primarch had broken away from the vortex and was not falling toward his fated destination.
"Change... everything is according to the plan..."
The other three gods immediately discovered the anomaly of the gestation pod as well; they watched this scene with great interest until the black mist disappeared.
Ninglu waited nervously; although he had been chosen by the "Kingdom of Disorder," he knew that the authority of the Source Essence increased gradually as his Tier rose.
If this were the real world, the "Kingdom of Disorder" would not provide him with any help.
But this is the Warp, where emotion and conviction are the most powerful forces.
Ninglu used conviction as a force to pry open the "Kingdom of Disorder."
Even if the status of the Source Essence was lower than that of the Four Gods, it was close to the same level.
The combined force of the two might be able to change the planet of his fall; this was the first step he had taken to change his fate!
While the gestation pods of the other Primarchs were still sliding through the Sea of Souls, the gestation pod of the Eleventh Primarch shot out of the Empyrean like an arrow at a Rapid speed.
The gestation pod fell at extreme speed; Ninglu saw the Hive City piercing through the toxic atmosphere through the blinding smoke ignited by the violent friction with industrial exhaust, which put his heart slightly at ease.
Immediately, the gestation pod smashed into a viscous, sludge-like riverbed.
The silver-gray iron shell shook, and the glass partition shattered.
Ninglu stood steadily inside the pod; he suddenly reached out his right hand and precisely grabbed a silver-gray fragment the length of an ordinary adult's palm and two fingers wide.
The sludge splashed up by the Rapid rotation and sliding had no effect on his perception; he noticed that there were no animals or plants in the river or on either side of the riverbank, and he smelled the pervasive toxic acidic odor.
Ninglu felt a moment of dizziness in his head, but he recovered immediately.
The rotation speed of the gestation pod slowed down; Ninglu's brain completed its calculations rapidly, and just before it hit the bank and bounced in another direction, he leaped out.
He bent his knees slightly and steadied his body.
Ninglu stood up, looked toward the Hive City through the drifting industrial dust, and then stepped toward that direction.
In the shantytowns on the outskirts of the Hive City, people who have lived in unprotected environments for a long time have more or less some physical mutations.
Many Underhive residents also come to the shantytowns to survive; the foul-smelling sewage ensures that this place has a relatively fertile agricultural environment and a fairly rich Fungus harvest.
A person with a stone-like tumor on his neck was the first to notice the outsider.
It was an outsider who could not possibly appear in the shantytown; his skin was a healthy and natural yellow, glowing with luster, just like a statue created by an artist.
His long black hair fluttered in the wind, his eyes were as black as ink, like a deep pool, and his nose bridge was high and straight.
Although he looked like a boy of only four or five years old, the Primarch's face had sharp, well-defined features, and his handsome face carried a sense of majesty that made people afraid to look directly at him.
The mutant lowered his head in inferiority and timidity, then a flash of greed appeared in his eyes.
Such a boy could be sold for a lot of money; many big shots in the Upper Hive loved to toy with such delicate children.
Once such a thought arose, it could not be contained.
He immediately dropped the Fungus he had picked and pounced toward the boy; several other mutants also moved with the same idea.
The boy did not turn and run; he dodged the swinging club, and the silver-gray fragment in his hand slashed the mutant's thigh.
Following the screams, all the mutants in the shantytown had their attention drawn, and they pounced greedily toward the boy.
Ninglu wove through the crowd of mutants; no one's attack landed on the boy.
The mutants initially thought it was because the boy was small, so they all half-squatted; they were very familiar with this posture as they engaged in daily Fungus cultivation, rummaging through trash heaps, and ambushing wanderers, and they often fought in this posture when snatching spoils.
Their attacks still missed; the boy seemed to be able to predict every one of their movements—the side thrusts, the iron clubs thrown at the back of his head—all motives fell through.
The boy did not look back, as if he had eyes in the back of his head.
An hour later, a group of people lay on the ground in the shantytown, each of their legs severed, unable to move.
Ninglu's gaze searched among the crowd, then he stripped off the cleanest and most complete piece of clothing, cut it casually, and put it on.
He walked up to the mutant with the tumor on his neck, kicked him, opened his mouth, and pointed at the iron club on the ground.
The mutant looked at the Monster in front of him in horror; it took a few seconds for him to realize that the other party was asking how to say this thing, and he hurriedly opened his mouth.
Ninglu's superhuman brain mastered the local Low Gothic at an astonishing speed; it was a language localized from Old Terran Slavic.
Five hours later, he had learned the basic language from these people.
Ninglu stared at the remaining mutants who were still alive and asked fluently in the local Low Gothic.
"Is this world Vostonia?"
All the mutants nodded at the same time, afraid that if they were slow, they would suffer the same fate as the corpses beside them.
He pointed his finger at the Hive City not far away, "Is that Hive City Teziwoke?"
The mutants nodded simultaneously again, very quickly.
Ninglu stepped forward and casually ended the suffering of the mutants; these witnesses who had seen him come to the Hive City from the ash Wasteland might cause him trouble if they remained alive.
He knew that after Vostonia pledged allegiance to Mars during the Age of Strife, technology and knowledge had continuously poured in, and it had rapidly developed into a highly industrialized world.
The locally manufactured weapons were excellent, especially the Laser guns, which were the most famous; the future Vostroyan Firstborn could rank in the top ten in terms of combat power within the Astra Militarum.
Vostonia is under the dual rule of the nobility and the Adeptus Mechanicus; the weapons in the hands of those oil-heads can still cause trouble for his growing self.
Ninglu found a relatively clean black backpack, though even by the standards of the Lower Hive, it was still filthy.
He filled the backpack with Fungus and also packed a tattered piece of clothing to use as a change.
Afterwards, he headed toward the Hive City; he had checked once before, and the Potion Material for the "Lawyer" on the Blasphemous Slate was all glowing, meaning all materials could be found in the Hive City.
