Chapter 211: Wheel of Fire: Killing Cans

~9 min read 1,663 words

On Flame Wheel II, Ninglu dropped into the largest battlefield.

Just as he leaped out of the Drop Pod, he saw two Si-tou Warbosses fix their gazes upon him.

The smaller one, similar in build to a Primarch, carried a blue mechanical backpack and held a twin-linked shoota.

The taller Orc was a green-skinned Mekboy; behind his head, a hammer and a wrench were arranged in a cross, connected to a vertical iron rod, spinning like a Windmill, and he also carried tools like iron pincers on his back.

He held a twin-linked custom big shoota, connected to an ammunition box on his back via cables and gauges, decorated with trophies like teeth.

Over a hundred meters behind the Mekboy, twenty-five walking mechs shaped like tin cans were running rapidly with a pair of piston-driven mechanical legs.

Ninglu recognized them as Killa Kans; their peculiarity was that the pilots were not Orcs, but Gretchin.

After undergoing surgery similar to a Dreadnought, but far more primitive and brutal, the Gretchin lived inside them permanently.

Unlike the Astartes who were passively buried inside, the Gretchin, who occupied the bottom of the Orc ecosystem, engaged in intense and bloody internal competition, using murder and brawls for everything.

Ninglu saw greed in the eyes of the two Si-tou Orc bosses; their eyes were locked onto the armor on his body and the Power Fist wrapped around his left hand.

"Waaagh!"

The two Si-tou bosses roared in excitement simultaneously, then took long strides and charged toward him excitedly.

As they ran, they fired a dense barrage of bullets at Ninglu with their shootas.

The twin-linked custom big shoota in the Mekboy's hands vibrated wildly as it fired, erupting with intense sparks.

Behind him, countless Orcs holding various types of shootas watched the Mekboy with envy and jealousy.

The dense rain of bullets struck the black armor, only to be deflected by the cast-iron-colored scales.

The Orcs stared blankly at the black-armored "shrimp," unable to understand how the shrimp's black armor had not been pierced.

Ninglu strode forward; while running, he leaned down to pick up a piece of iron plate from the ground and squeezed it hard.

The "Briber" swung his arm in a full circle and threw the dozens of fragments in his hand with superhuman throwing strength.

The fragments traced an arc, passing over the two Orc bosses, and only after flying for dozens of meters did they fall rapidly, piercing into the green flesh.

"Bribe: Charm" caused over a dozen Orcs' eyes to turn red; they raised their shootas, pulled the triggers, and bullets sprayed toward the surrounding Orcs.

The Si-tou Orcs immediately fell into chaos; their innate craving for scattered debris was ignited, and they attacked the surrounding Orcs frantically.

Seeing this scene, the Primarch thought to himself.

【"Bribe: Charm" has a much more obvious effect on Si-tou Orcs than on other clans.】

Ninglu drew his Power Sword and simultaneously issued an order to the members of the Honor Guard behind him.

"Prioritize killing the Mekboy Boy!"

The members of the Honor Guard understood the Primarch's order; they had thoroughly studied the data issued by the Primarch before the battle.

The Si-tou clan possessed a large number of Scavenger Boys, all of whom were commanded by Mekboy Boys.

In the social culture of the Si-tou clan, the status of Mekboy Boys was far higher than in other clans; they reassembled recovered parts and wreckage into weapons and Dakka.

Mekboy Boys also repaired the Orcs' unstable weapons; precision strikes against them would severely cripple the Scavenger Boys' sustained combat capability.

The Primarch did not need to deliver an inspirational speech like Weiershier; every Order Shadow following him into battle was high in morale because they followed their Gene-Father.

The Honor Guard raised their bolters and, following the Primarch's order, launched a swift strike against the Orcs.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Mekboy Boys were torn apart by bolter rounds; their Death made the Scavenger Boys even more unbridled.

They frantically pounced on the fragments and wreckage they saw, attacking rival tribes and even the Scavenger Boys of their own tribe.

During the Orc melee, Ninglu charged at high speed to the front of the two Orc bosses.

The Mekboy turned and ran, shouting loudly.

"Cans!"

The remaining nineteen Killa Kans rushed over, their long-barreled big shootas firing wildly.

Dakka-dakka-dakka-dakka!

A storm of bullets sprayed out; two Honor Guard members were hit by concentrated fire, their lenses shattered.

The Orc boss did not turn to flee; holding his twin-linked shoota, he widened his eyes and let out a roar.

"Me shoota will definitely pierce your armor!"

The roars of Gork and Mork rang in the Orc boss's ears, and green mist rose in his mind.

The bullets fired by the twin-linked shoota clattered against the black battle armor.

The bullets seemed to turn into armor-piercing rounds instantly, and pieces of cast-iron scales fell with a clatter.

Ninglu instantly donned his "War Mask," turning the anger of his offspring's Death into strength.

His speed surged abruptly; in the flash of a thought, he appeared before the Orc boss and slashed with the Sword of Vaul.

Blue-white light shone, shredding the Orc boss's body; he did not stop his pace and charged toward the Killa Kans.

Ninglu leaped into the air and severed a Killa Kan with one slash.

After he landed, three Killa Kans surrounded him; they took nimble steps, attacking Ninglu from his back and both sides.

The Power Sword crackled, and circular saws hissed as they attacked Ninglu.

The Mekboy kept an eye on the situation behind him while fleeing.

Seeing the black-armored warrior surrounded by the Killa Kans he had built, he immediately stopped his flight and turned back to charge.

Ninglu twisted his body; he flicked his wrist, and the Sword of Vaul executed the 9th strike of "Osber-Vaya," a fierce backhanded horizontal slash while his body was in a state of Distortion.

The Mekboy's eyes widened; the black-armored shrimp had actually used an impossible posture in the blink of an eye to swing a sword and shatter three Killa Kans.

He turned his head to flee, thinking in his mind.

【My good stuff was all forcibly bought by Soriano.

When I build bigger, more Waaagh-filled Dakka and shootas, I'll kill you then; by then, yours will all be mine.】

The Mekboy jumped onto a Dakka, kicked the pilot away, and fled frantically.

He turned his head to look back, suddenly discovering that all the killer cans had fallen.

The black-armored human picked up a piece of killer can wreckage and threw it at him.

The Mekboy hurriedly turned around and swerved the steering wheel sharply to the right.

Boom!

Dakka and the Mekboy were sent flying, tumbling through the air.

After the Mekboy scrambled to his feet, he saw the black-armored giant appear before him.

Ninglu raised his hand and thrust his sword, killing the Mekboy.

He reached out and tore the wrench, hammer, and pliers from the Mekboy's back; they all shimmered with a spiritual glow and were Potion Material.

The chaotic battle on Planet No. 2 lasted for thirteen stellar days, and the number of Si-tou Orcs who died in infighting was no less than those killed by the Order Shadow.

As the Eleventh Legion servants and servitors used Flamethrowers to clear the surface, Ninglu received a communication message forwarded by the Sound Array Master.

The Ninth Battle Company had arrived, and the Third Legion would arrive in two days.

Ninglu immediately ordered the members of the Honor Guard and the two Chapters to continue clearing the Orcs from Planet No. 2, and he returned to the Shadow of Sovereignty.

Ninglu met Thomas in the Primarch's office, and after hearing the briefing, he tapped his fingers lightly on the back of his chair.

"Although the Eleventh Legion has currently established the position of Librarian, it does not yet have a corresponding organizational structure."

"I have decided to form a Librarian department to govern the Legion's psykers."

"I would like you to step down as Chapter Master and transfer to the position of Chief Librarian; are you willing?"

Thomas did not hesitate in the slightest and immediately accepted the new appointment.

"Father, I am willing."

From the orders previously issued by the Primarch, Thomas inferred that the Librarians would be an important component of the Legion.

More importantly, a Lord commands a Chapter independently, while the Chief Librarian should be a department facing the entire Legion, governing all Librarians while being closer to the Gene-Father.

The newly appointed Chief Librarian immediately stepped into his role and asked.

"Father, how should the organizational structure of the Librarian department be set up?"

"Like Techmarines and Apothecaries, Librarians are both under your direct jurisdiction and must assist the various Chapters in battle."

Ninglu recalled the Librarian structure settings from the future Chapter era and decided to refer to those tiers, continuing to speak.

"Beneath you, set up three tiers, which from lowest to highest are Lexicanum, Codicier, and Astropath."

"Psykers who have just joined the Librarians are at the Lexicanum level; they are responsible for duties related to combat reports and submitting them to those responsible for the Legion's records."

"Codiciers are responsible for evaluating the reports written by Lexicanum, finalizing them for inclusion in the Library, and providing strategic overviews of operations to Commanders."

"The duty of an Astropath is to serve as the chief communications officer on and off the battlefield, held by psykers who possess the ability to project their thoughts into the Warp."

Unlike Astropaths who are responsible for inter-system communication, Astropaths are responsible for shorter-range communication, coordinating attacks and combat orders.

"Father, I will carry out your will."

"In addition to true psykers, I will also designate a portion of Royal Court Members who have not yet served as Commanders to join the Librarian department."

The Chief Librarian pondered the deeper meaning in the Primarch's words.
