Chapter 89: A Punch That Stunned Horus
A massive mutant Ogryn charged toward Ninglu, smashing through stone buildings and knocking aside smaller kin that stood in his path.
Horus witnessed the massive mutant Ogryn and its terrifying impact, and could not help but be slightly startled.
His footsteps quickened, wanting to step forward to help his brother.
Ninglu watched the charging mutant Ogryn, his gaze brightening; he had finally encountered a suitable subject to test the Power Fist he had acquired.
He tentatively injected his spirituality into the gauntlet, which was painted with a golden Scale—the same symbol as the "Judge" pathway—and as if triggering some kind of switch, the spirit within his body was instantly drained.
The Silver Gauntlet erupted with blinding golden light, and Ninglu felt a force dragging his body forward.
He did not resist, allowing this force to pull his body forward.
Ninglu remained vigilant, prepared to control his body and stop at any moment should an abnormality occur.
Horus, who was running over with long strides, watched in surprise as his brother leaned forward and swung his arm.
His body merged with a strange power, dragging a lingering afterimage as he slammed into the enemy.
The Power Fist struck the target's head with an irresistible, unavoidable posture, and the massive mutant Ogryn's skull, along with the nearly one-meter-long insect clinging to its occiput, neck, and spine, was blasted apart by the punch.
Horus's gaze flickered with surprise; Ninglu's punch could be called stunning.
【I should be able to do this as well.】
He stored the moment he had just witnessed into his memory, preparing to find an opportunity to equip a Power Fist and attempt to see if he could accomplish it himself.
Ninglu, his spirituality drained, thought thoughtfully.
【"Death," the extraordinary ability of the "Punisher Knight"—the Silver Gauntlet is an item of the "Judge" pathway, and the extraordinary characteristic contained within it is at least Sequence 5 level.】
Just as he reached this conclusion, Horus cast his gaze toward the Ice Blade Squad running behind Ninglu.
The Primarch immediately discovered that even though these black-armored warriors were attacking the mutant Ogryn in anger, they were not driven by the desire for slaughter as they usually were.
Horus had long commanded the Reapers and understood them very well, so he immediately noticed the change in these black-armored warriors.
They had not fallen into madness, but were maintaining tactical formations and coordinating to kill the Ogryns.
Horus looked forward again; the black-armored warriors were still maintaining their combat formation under the command of the cold-faced warrior he remembered as Adams.
Horus walked toward Ninglu and said with both surprise and admiration.
"Congratulations, you have already changed them."
Ninglu smiled; although his spirituality was drained, a Primarch would not feel weak like a mortal extraordinary.
"I still need to continue working hard, but it is a good start."
"I believe you will certainly be able to change them."
Horus no longer doubted, and he looked at Ninglu's left arm.
"That punch just now was good."
"The Emperor let me choose it from his treasury."
A flash of understanding crossed Horus's eyes, and he asked with a smile.
"It wasn't easy to make a decision when you were choosing, was it?"
Ninglu raised his left arm to his chest and spoke.
"After looking through them once, I chose it at a glance."
"I had a feeling that it was the most suitable one for me."
Ninglu was satisfied with his choice, and then the two separated to join the battle.
Horus had witnessed Ninglu's combat prowess with his own eyes and saw that he could lead his gene-sons to launch orderly attacks during battle, so he felt at ease letting his brother command his Legion in combat.
Ninglu handed the Fourth Company, the Model Company, over to Adams to command, and only took the Ice Blade Squad with him for further investigation.
The Primarch began to lead other companies in battle, and he was delighted to find that Sanchez's Seventh Company was gradually accepting his philosophy.
But he also felt disappointed and angry because First Captain Saisake, Third Company Captain Samir, and Eighth Company Captain Robin remained obsessed with bloodthirsty slaughter.
What gave him some comfort was that Sanchez had not only completed the transformation of his philosophy but had also discovered his preferences.
Under the promotion of the Seventh Company Captain, the entire Eleventh Legion knew of their Gene-Father's preferences.
Saisake and other sons attempted to gain his understanding by offering various curiosities to the Primarch.
Potion Materials were growing steadily, and two of them caught Ninglu's attention.
Saisake, who had never been interested in anything else in the past, hunted a local eagle with a peculiar appearance; its pupils flickered with a dazzling rainbow color under the light and could distinguish multiple color spectra.
The Blasphemous Slate called this eagle a Rainbow-eyed Eagle, which was the missing main Potion Material for the Sequence 9 "Hunter."
Samir offered Ginkgo leaves, which were extinct on Terra but grew well in the local grasslands.
Ninglu thus gathered the materials for the Sequence 9 "Cultivator" and the missing auxiliary Potion Materials for the subsequent Sequence 8 "Physician."
After the fifty-four largest tribes were wiped out, even the dim-witted Ogryns realized the terror of these warriors who were as tall as them and wore "iron skin."
The remaining Ogryn tribes chose to submit.
Horus believed that Ninglu had killed the most powerful local Ogryn and performed excellently in the first conquest battle since returning to the Imperium, so he handed the naming rights of this world to him.
Ninglu thought of the Corpse-eaters and the grasslands living in the area, so he named it the Corpse-gnawing Plain.
The Corpse-gnawing Plain was also recorded in official records as a victory for the 33rd Fleet.
Its official record was 33-4, meaning the 4th Planet conquered by the 33rd Expeditionary Fleet.
After the war, Ninglu reviewed the performance of this conquest battle and decided to cultivate five more extraordinaries among his sons.
Aolifu and three other sons selected from the Temporary Honor Guard, as well as the Seventh Company Captain Sanchez, would become the second batch of extraordinaries.
Ninglu sent communication messages to Adams, Sanchez, and the others, summoning them to follow him back to the Void Hunter.
After the other Company Captains received the news, they could not help but be jealous of the favor Adams and the others Astartes had received from the Primarch.
The furious Saisake entered the grasslands alone, hunting green-striped zebras and every other creature he encountered.
After Ninglu prepared four bottles of green "Reaper" Potion and one bottle of red Potion and returned to the conference hall of the Strategy Room, he called Sanchez and the other four in.
The Primarch looked at the five Order Shadows and spoke.
"In the previous battles, you have carried out my philosophy, and now I shall bestow power upon you."
"I hope that in the future, you will lead other battle-brothers to achieve complete transformation as soon as possible."
As he spoke, he spread his palms and continued.
"I am bestowing different powers upon you based on your talents."
"Sanchez, the red one is yours."
"The others are for the four of you."
None of the five Order Shadows hesitated; they trusted their Gene-Father.
After they drank the Potions, Ninglu used his telepathic ability to teach the five Astartes simultaneously.
Sanchez was the first to master Meditation and the method of controlling himself; Aolifu was one standard ship-minute slower than him, and the other three Order Shadows were another four to fourteen seconds slower.
Ninglu then called Adams in from outside the door, looked at the six Order Shadows, and began to speak.
"I previously bestowed unique abilities upon some individuals; you six are the first batch I have cultivated within the Legion."
"Beyond being Astartes, you also possess unique abilities, and you are the people I trust most in the Legion."
"I have decided to form a secret organization, and you are its first members."
