Chapter 557: Star Destroyer and Information
How would I know?
Lei En's face was full of astonishment; hearing Master Mei Di Fu's question, he couldn't help but complain inwardly. This is something that will happen in the future, and he cannot foresee it, so how could he know the situation then?
However, the future snippet displayed by Master Mei Di Fu conveyed a lot of information.
First, it can be confirmed that this is his own future.
Those wearing blue armor are all Extreme Warriors; the weapons in their hands are Bolt Guns. Although the armor and Bolt Gun models differ from those of today and seem more powerful, they should be the new models he will develop in the future, and they could never be someone else's Super Military Legion.
Secondly, judging from the battlefield environment, it is likely a certain layer of the Abyss.
Which specific layer it is, Lei En cannot determine; no one knows how many layers the Abyss has, places like this are countless, the camera angle is too distant, and no clues can be drawn from the types of Demon armies.
All in all, this should be his own Extreme Warrior corps charging into the Abyss!
To harvest Demon souls?
Or to mine Source Crystal ore?
Lei En hadn't forgotten the coordinates he obtained from City Lord Hei Si Ta Fu for fifty thousand Gold Shields; on the 404th layer of the Abyss lies a massive Source Crystal deposit.
However, what shocked him most was the steel fortress in the sky!
Perhaps in Master Mei Di Fu's eyes, this is just a fortress or Fu Kong Cheng with an unusual shape, but any sci‑fi enthusiast from a previous life, upon a single glance, would be stunned speechless.
It isn't a fortress at all; it's a Star Destroyer!
It's the classic "Empire‑class Star Destroyer," but not a standard‑size one; its length seems much smaller than the original design, shrunken to about one‑third.
Even a shrunken version is still a Star Destroyer; piloting a Star Destroyer is a man's romance!
Whoa!
Lei En's heart surged, and he couldn't help but exclaim. Does his future self play so wildly? He actually created a fantasy version of a Star Destroyer.
"What did you say?"
Master Mei Di Fu's expression instantly turned strange.
As a learned Holy Soul Wizard, he is proficient in dozens of languages, including some lost ancient scripts, able to communicate effortlessly with almost every race in the Ai Lun E Si world, yet he found he couldn't understand which language Lei En was speaking.
"Uh, nothing, I just shout when I'm surprised, sorry to make you laugh, Master," Lei En explained with a startled face, then asked, "Master, do you know how far in the future this snippet is?"
"Unclear, it could be a few decades later, or perhaps a few hundred years," Mei Di Fu hummed dissatisfiedly, feeling Lei En was hiding something, and explained, "Divination can only ever see vague fragments, never provide precise information; even the gods cannot do that."
"I see," Lei En couldn't help but feel a bit regretful.
"What did you discern?" Master Mei Di Fu asked again, "Why aren't you in this snippet?"
Lei En knew the other was suspicious, but he truly hadn't said anything, so he guessed, "Could I be inside the sky's Star... steel fortress? Master, please show it again; perhaps you'll find me."
He thought to himself, "That was close," nearly letting it slip.
"I've watched it many times," Mei Di Fu frowned, but seeing Lei En's strong request, he still fulfilled his wish.
The light and shadow displayed before him again, and this time Lei En opened his eyes wide, ready to see more clearly.
In the scene, demons filled the sky and ground everywhere; just within the field of view there were at least tens of thousands, mainly three categories under the Lord of Darkness: Destruction Demons, Burning Demons, and Shadow Demons, including legendary‑level great Demons, yet they had almost no resistance against the Extreme Warriors.
The Extreme Warrior corps swept through thousands of troops; the Demon army collapsed in a one‑sided defeat, being slaughtered madly.
Lei En immediately noticed a detail.
The Extreme Warriors' armor had flight capability; when they launched from the Star Destroyer, a square backpack on their backs emitted blue flames. Judging by the shape, their backpacks were identical to the miniature Titan Furnace he was developing.
"I will solve the miniaturization problem of the Titan Furnace in the future!"
Lei En felt immense joy in his heart.
Even though he didn't yet know how he solved it, merely knowing the problem could be overcome was a huge help.
That means the direction of miniaturizing the Titan Furnace is correct!
Unfortunately, the camera angle was too distant to see the Titan Furnace's details. The Extreme Warriors kept moving in battle, only faintly showing their backpacks sporadically igniting blue flame or emitting steam‑like residual heat; all runes and component structures were hidden inside, invisible from outside.
It was his own design, and Lei En helplessly gave up.
The few‑second snippet ended quickly.
Lei En, a bit unwilling, asked, "Master, could you bring the angle closer? I'd like to watch it a few more times."
Mei Di Fu gave him a strange look, but still complied with the request.
His expression focused; the "Silent Mirage" was clearer than the previous two times, as if the resolution shifted from 360P to 480P, revealing more details.
The angle was also adjusted to be nearer.
Lei En, familiar with divination, knew this scene was a future snippet seen by Master Mei Di Fu after casting, then displayed through "Silent Mirage."
Master Mei Di Fu could render the scene so clearly, showing how masterful his spellcraft was.
He replayed it several times, shifting the focus to different points, even enlarging the Star Destroyer, but found that the steel fortress had not a single window, making the interior invisible, let alone Lei En's figure.
Lei En watched while turning on his phone's camera to record the entire footage.
"How is it?" After several viewings, Mei Di Fu stopped the playback.
"I'm sorry, Master," Lei En shook his head, replying honestly, "I, like you, didn't discern any useful information."
Mei Di Fu, seeing he wasn't lying, didn't press further.
"Divination is like that; it never gives precise results, usually just vague fragments for you to interpret yourself."
The Empire's greatest "Prophet" showed a hint of pride on his face, saying smugly, "My achievements in divination may not be the world's first, but no one understands prophecy better than I do, able to see clearer future snippets."
"Even so, my each divination reading isn't always correct; sometimes it yields a completely opposite conclusion."
"Alas..."
Mei Di Fu let out a sigh, his expression melancholy, as if recalling painful memories, "Perhaps this is fate."
Lei En didn't know how to reply, remained silent for a moment, then asked, "Master, is what we see definitely the future? Could it change because of our foreknowledge?"
"No."
Mei Di Fu replied firmly, "The future you see will inevitably happen."
Lei En, however, was skeptical, furrowing his brows, "But last time, you prophesied that Weizelan would crash and warned the teacher beforehand, yet Weizelan remained unharmed—didn't that alter the outcome?"
"I saw a future fragment of Weizelan falling, not a crash," Mei Di Fu smiled.
Lei En was startled.
At that time, Weizelan's core control was seized by Master Lu Yin for a dozen seconds, Fu Kong Cheng lost power and indeed fell, but fortunately the teacher reclaimed control in time, averting disaster.
"So that's it," he thought, suddenly enlightened.
Lei En suddenly thought of something else; Master Mei Di Fu had just said he could survive this time, but he wasn't sure, and curiously asked, "Master, can't you use prophecy on yourself?"
"Prophecy has no effect on the caster themselves; I cannot see my own future," Mei Di Fu replied calmly.
Lei En's eyes flicked, and he instantly got an idea.
Mei Di Fu saw through his thoughts at a glance and laughed, "Prophecy is an extremely rare superlative Element, its sources are few and it's hard to master; one must reach Legendary High-rank to wield this Eight‑Ring Arcane, and the entire Empire cannot find ten prophecy masters."
"Moreover, the stronger the target of a prophecy, the harder it is, and the result more vague; the prophecy master's strength must also exceed that of the subject."
"Can you find a prophecy master stronger than me?"
Lei En was at a loss for words.
"Alright, that's enough. For the next few days I'll stay by your side; you should also prepare yourself, you can't rely entirely on me," Mei Di Fu rose from the long stone bench, nodded at Lei En, and transformed again into a crow perched on a branch.
"Thank you, Master." Lei En saluted, then left the garden and returned to the villa.
In the upstairs room, he looked out the window and soon spotted the crow that Master Mei Di Fu had become, perched in the shade of a nearby tree, blending into the shadows where an ordinary person could never notice.
There was a Holy Soul Wizard protecting him at all times, and Lei En felt much safer.
He gave the crow a slight nod and sat down to meditate.
By the time he finished meditating it was night, his spiritual energy fully restored and his spirit full. Lei En looked outside, and the All-Seeing Eye, through the wall, saw Master Mei Di Fu's figure standing on the tree as if never having moved.
He opened his phone and played the recorded future fragment in his view.
He watched and studied it over and over.
After a moment, Lei En finally noticed a detail and froze the image.
In his view, the Star Destroyer was locked in the center of the frame; although the perspective was still far, some details could already be faintly seen.
On the Star Destroyer's underside and the sloping sides above, huge emblems were engraved.
The emblem's core was a war hammer crossed with a crescent moon, golden in the main part, with a crimson background, standing out vividly on the silver‑gray armor plates.
This was the Augustus family's emblem, self‑designed; Lei En knew it intimately.
But his focus wasn't the emblem; he noticed that beneath each emblem lay a line of characters, inconspicuous, slightly smaller than the emblem, apparently painted in red, the font both familiar and strange; after zooming in, he finally saw it clearly.
The content read: CPU1016613743
This line of text, composed of English letters and numbers, could only be understood by Ai Lun E Si alone; Lei En thus concluded it was an important message his future self was sending to himself.
"What does this mean?" Lei En thought rapidly.
The meaning of the initial three letters CPU was crystal clear: it told himself that solving the Titan Furnace miniaturization required using chips to finely control energy flow, but how to achieve that?
He had already tried manually grinding chips by activating metal, which proved a dead end.
The real answer must lie in the subsequent string of numbers.
There were ten digits in total, clearly not a phone number; the MutatedPhone had no signal even for Ai Lun E Si, and the number seemed to have no special significance, no unique meaning, nor was it a commonly used password from a past life—it felt rather nonsensical.
Lei En stared at the screen, lost in thought.
Ai Lun E Si had not embraced digitization; even as a Holy Soul Wizard, because magical research differs from scientific technology and lags in mathematics, it was almost impossible to employ a ten‑digit number.
The future self would certainly not send a cryptic riddle.
The number must be something he could easily access, yet unique.
It wasn't a phone number nor a password; such a large number is rarely encountered in daily life—what could it be?
Only he could understand it, and could access it…
A flash of insight struck Lei En's mind, and he suddenly understood. His most unique asset was owning a MutatedPhone, and within the phone indeed existed a very long numeric application: the catalog number!
The book numbers in the phone's library!
Years ago he had copied millions of volumes from the Silver Star Academy library, then later emptied the Weizelan Grand Library of over ten million books, replicating them into his phone's personal library, where each book automatically received a sequential catalog number.
Currently the phone's library holds nearly twenty million books, with numbers reaching eight digits.
The final digits of that string, as expected, indicated the page number.
Lei En kept his thoughtful demeanor, silently opened the library. A book usually has only a few hundred pages, sometimes just a few dozen, rarely four digits, so he entered the first seven digits 1016613 to search for that catalog number.
He was startled when he saw the title.
"A Romance Novel That Brings Tears," what the heck is that?
He flipped to the last page; the book had just over three hundred pages, probably not the one he sought, yet he casually turned to an earlier page:
The tea‑colored female minotaur inhaled in surprise. "How exactly did you solve it?" even her voice carried a robust brown aura.
"I have no other way, dear," Ma Ku Si patted the sword lying on his thigh, "we can only execute them all on the spot."
"Oh! With just a dagger? How brave!" Tan Da carefully reached for the sword, but withdrew the hand the instant she was about to touch it.
Ma Ku Si was angry. "What are you talking about? This is a two‑handed broad sword, even the hilt is enchanted. Though it's not as large as those you've seen, with my techniques I can make it sound as beautiful as music."
Lei En flipped a few pages backward:
Ma Ku Si calmed down, glanced at Tan Da, then at Ba Ke Si. Their fur was a mess, their bare, rough skin glistened with sweat. As they stared at each other, the strikingly handsome Ma Ku Si spoke, "Alright, since we're all practically naked..."
The following content was too graphic, preventing Lei En from continuing.
He flipped wildly a few times, catching a fleeting glimpse; the several hundred pages roughly narrated the adventures of a human transcendent named "Ma Ku Si," who, during his journey, engaged in indescribable relations with myriad beings—elves, dwarves, gnomes, goblins, succubi, minotaurs, trolls, undead, naga, fish‑people, beasts, centaurs, harpy‑like succubi, and so on—without regard to gender, size, or number.
The book not only described in detail but also featured illustrations; its taste was so heavy that even Lei En could not look at it directly.
"Damn, when did I copy this book?" he recalled; such a book wouldn't be publicly circulated, let alone be in a library. It must have been at a banquet in Mo Du when he searched for new books nearby and copied it with a single click.
Lei En finally managed to push those illustrations out of his mind, then entered the first eight digits.
This time, the search returned a cataloged book titled "Memoir of Strange Creatures," and his spirit lifted, vaguely sensing he had found it!
The author was an unknown Wizard, writing several centuries ago, but the work remained unfinished.
The book recorded many obscure unknown alien races and monsters.
Turning to page 43, Lei En's pupils involuntarily dilated a little, the content of this page was about a peculiar and evil race——Spirit-absorbing Monster!
