Chapter 1076: The Oppressed People

"Photon Butterfly Assassin - Morpho, attack 'Mother Grizzly'!"

Morpho's wings flapped, and the swirling scales condensed, as if turning into a torrent that blasted into Mother Grizzly's chest. The latter's chest was pierced, letting out a long, mournful cry, and then exploded into fragments.

【Fujiki You Xuan, LP4000 → LP2200】

"This combination is interesting." Fujiki You Xuan said, "However, the monster effect of Mother Grizzly also triggers.

When Mother Grizzly is destroyed by battle, I can Special Summon a Water-attribute monster with 1500 or less Attack from my deck to the field."

Fujiki You Xuan raised his arm, and a stream of water flew out from his deck.

"What I want to Special Summon from my deck is, 'Oppressed People'."

The stream of water landed on the ground and transformed into a new monster posture. But this time, what appeared was not an ordinary warrior, but refugees who looked sallow and thin, all images of people enduring painful lives, displaced in war for years, and looking forward to freedom.

【Oppressed People, Attack 400】

This is also a quite ancient old card; in the otherworld chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime, the image of the refugees in the card art was used as a background character.

"Then next is 'Photon Butterfly Assassin - Papillon'," Droite said, "Attack 'Oppressed People'!"

Papillon's wings flapped, its body circled in the air, leaving a trail of shining flight paths, and then dived toward the Oppressed People from a high point.

"Actually attacking just like that... don't underestimate the anger of the oppressed people." Fujiki You Xuan snapped his fingers, "Activate Set card, Trap card 'Righteous Justice'!"

"When a Normal Monster on my field is selected as an attack target, destroy all monsters on the field that are face-up in Attack Position, except for Normal Monsters!"

Droite: "Nani!?"

With a deafening thunderclap, the judgment thunder of "Righteous Justice" descended like divine punishment. Two golden lightning bolts as thick as buckets accurately struck the dancing butterfly sisters, instantly freezing their elegant postures.

The golden scales of "Photon Butterfly Assassin - Morpho" burned violently in the lightning, turning into sparks filling the sky. The butterfly wings of "Photon Butterfly Assassin - Papillon" shattered in the strong light, like broken blue crystals. Electric currents ran wildly over their slender bodies, beautiful butterfly wings curled and carbonized in the high temperature, emitting a pungent burnt smell.

When the thunder light dissipated, the two Photon Butterfly Assassins had turned into two charred remains, maintaining their final struggling posture. As the breeze blew, the bodies of the two turned into black ash and drifted away.

Droite gritted her teeth: "Destroying everything except Normal Monsters... is this actually a Trap dedicated to Normal Monsters?"

This kind of thing is really too rare in her dimension, because even things like Normal Monsters are almost extinct there. If someone played cards like this in the Xyz dimension, they would definitely be called a freak.

"Don't underestimate their potential just because they are 'vanilla' monsters." Fujiki You Xuan smiled lightly, "The anger of the 'vanilla' can also be very terrifying."

Droite: "Set one card, turn end."

She took a deep breath.

What a loss of composure, actually being tricked by these primitive-level old cards...

However, she reflected on herself, feeling that she might have indeed been a bit too careless. No matter what kind of deck is used, the opponent is after all a person called a king in a dimension, so she shouldn't underestimate him too much.

"My turn, draw card."

Fujiki You Xuan drew a card and then played the drawn card directly. The Continuous Spell "Heart of the Underdog" in front of him bloomed with golden light.

"The card I drew is, 'Wandering Refugees'." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Also a Normal Monster. According to the effect of 'Heart of the Underdog', if I draw a Normal Monster, I can draw another card from the deck."

So Fujiki You Xuan drew a card again.

Wandering Refugees, from this name it is very obvious that it is a card from the same series as the "Oppressed People" just now, and the themes reflected are all miserable civilians suffering from war, famine, and people living in dire poverty.

"Next, I Normal Summon 'Witch of the Black Forest'." Fujiki You Xuan summoned the monster in his hand. The witch was summoned and appeared on the field, in a wide black robe, with purple hair, eyes closed slightly, as if praying.

【Witch of the Black Forest, Attack 1100】

"Battle." Fujiki You Xuan said, "Witch of the Black Forest, direct attack."

The witch flew up and flew across the field without any obstruction. She hovered high in the air, crushing the spell, and the spell hovering and circling in the air seemed to condense into substantial magic energy, shooting toward Droite.

【Droite, LP4000 → LP2900】

"Then change Oppressed People to Defense Position." Fujiki You Xuan said.

【Oppressed People, Attack 400 → Defense 2000】

"Finally, set two cards, turn end." Fujiki You Xuan said.

Droite looked at the witch vigilantly, and then looked at the people who turned to defense.

He didn't covet the 400 points of direct attack damage from the people, but chose to turn to defense. Such a choice is not strange; after all, only 400 points of Attack is easy to be regarded as a breakthrough flaw, and by comparison, 2000 defense is relatively more capable of carrying.

But for some reason, Droite began to instinctively feel that the opponent's intention might be more than that.

Oppressed People, and the "Wandering Refugees" shown at the beginning of this turn, always feel that this person seems to be playing a big game of chess.

Although she didn't know what the opponent was planning, Droite instinctively felt that this duel could not be delayed. Must be quick to win.

"My turn, draw card!"

"Activate Spell card 'Warrior Returning Alive', can return a Warrior-type monster from the Graveyard to the hand."

Droite took the monster card that returned from the Graveyard to her hand.

"I return 'Photon Butterfly Assassin - Morpho' from the Graveyard to my hand."

"Then Normal Summon 'Photon Butterfly Assassin - Morpho' again!"

【Photon Butterfly Assassin - Morpho, Attack 1800】

"At this moment, the effect of 'Photon Butterfly Assassin - Heroic Emerald Morpho' in my hand triggers; this card can be Special Summoned from the hand when a Warrior-type monster is successfully summoned on my field.

Come, 'Photon Butterfly Assassin - Heroic Emerald Morpho'!"

An emerald whirlwind rolled up on the field, and countless blue-green light particles sprayed out from the monster card. These light particles condensed rapidly while rotating, and the figure of a brand new Photon Butterfly Assassin emerged from it. She was petite, but exuded a sharp warrior aura. Emerald green long hair flew in the energy storm, and the tips of her hair were dotted with blue light spots like stardust. When that pair of semi-transparent blue-green butterfly wings were fully unfolded, every flap would sprinkle crystal-clear scales.

【Photon Butterfly Assassin - Heroic Emerald Morpho, Attack 0】

Fujiki You Xuan: "Two Level 4 monsters..."

"It's time to go!" Droite shouted sharply, "This is the true power of the Butterfly monsters awakened by the power of Overlay, transcending your era!" ===== CHAPTER 1077 =====
