Chapter 1142: Excalibur

Heroic Champion - Kusanagi was destroyed.

Go-sh's expression was dim, his head slightly lowered, looking as if he were contemplating life.

I was so stupid, really.

I only thought the opponent would use endless Trapholes to obstruct summoning and interrupt development, never expecting so many routines and tricks besides Trapholes...

Go-sh let out a long, turbid breath.

The Fusion Dimension's routines are truly numerous...

He had already started to miss home.

But of course, he hadn't forgotten why he came here, and his purpose, as everyone knew, hadn't changed.

"Droit..."

Images from the past flashed back in his mind for no reason.

He had known Droit a long time ago. They were both orphans, relying on each other in the orphanage in Spars City.

Life was very bitter back then; just surviving took all their effort. And what gave them direction at that time was dueling.

When they came into contact with Duel Monsters in their childhood, it was as if the entire dim world suddenly had brilliance. Two children exhausted by life seemed to have suddenly found the direction for the future, found the ambition they were willing to fight for all their lives.

Then they worked hard, constantly became stronger, accepted Mr. Heartland's invitation, and accepted training as harsh as torture under Mr. Heartland...

"... Ouch, ouch, ouch!"

In the memory, the young Go-sh shook his head, subconsciously reaching out to push away the cotton swab Droit was handing over.

The young girl Droit pouted, pressed his hand that was moving around, and said in a reprimanding tone: "What can be done? Just bear with it. Who told you to mess around during training..."

So Go-sh stopped messing around, obediently letting her apply medicine to the wound on his cheek, while laughing: "Hey, because I don't want to lose to that guy Kite no matter what."

Droit only shook her head: "You and Kite are different, Go-sh. Don't force yourself."

Go-sh was immediately unconvinced: "How are we different? Where am I inferior to that guy?"

"I didn't say that. It's just..."

The girl hesitated for a moment.

"... Only you, I don't want you to put yourself in danger."

Go-sh was stunned.

That's right, because from a long time ago, they only had each other. Growing up together, learning to duel together, joining the training camp together...

They had long since become like family.

But they both understood in their hearts that once they became independent duelists, there might be many dangerous missions in the future. Having to separate, having to worry about each other, was probably just a matter of time.

The young Go-sh let out a long breath and said slowly: "You're so stupid."

The girl was immediately angry: "What did you say?"

Saying that, she prepared to roll up her sleeves, probably feeling that Go-sh was asking for a beating again.

But Go-sh then said seriously: "Don't worry, we promised. From now on, no matter what happens, no matter when... we will absolutely never separate."

"Absolutely."

That's right, they had promised back then.

"You brat, my Go-sh's spirit... is far more than this!" Go-sh's eyes reignited with flames. "It's too early to let me give up just like this!"

Go-sh let out a violent roar. "When I take damage from battle or card effects, the effect of 'Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades' in the Graveyard activates!

This card can be Special Summoned from the Graveyard!

Revive, Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades!"

Because he had suffered 2600 points of damage in one breath due to the Trap effect of Cross Counter, the effect of Thousand Blades in the Graveyard was also triggered. The Heroic warrior in silver armor flew back to the field, his body full of silver blades, shining with silver light in the moonlight.

"Then activate Magic card 'Burial Spell Treasure'!" Go-sh said. "Banish three Magic cards from your Graveyard from the game, and you can draw two cards from the deck!

I banish the Equip Magic 'Xyz Crown', Normal Magic 'Xyz Treasure', and Quick-Play Magic 'Battle Fund' from the Graveyard, and draw two cards!"

He wanted to fight, he still wanted to continue fighting.

He hadn't seen Droit yet, hadn't fulfilled his promise, how could he fall here?

A draw that seemed to pour in all his determination, the moment he drew the card, it seemed to stir up a transparent whirlwind. Then, catching a glimpse of the card he drew, the flames in his eyes jumped.

It's here!

Go-sh couldn't help but want to look up and laugh.

Sure enough, his deck hadn't abandoned him, his battle was still continuing.

"I Normal Summon 'Heroic Challenger - Morning Star Hammer'!"

The vortex of summoning opened on the monster card, and Morning Star Hammer smashed toward the ground like a meteorite, shaking gravel and splashing. His whole body was wrapped in pitch-black heavy armor, the spikes at the joints shining with cold light, and the golden horns extending from both sides of the helmet were like molten sacred objects. The star-shaped chain hammer in his right hand drew a burning trajectory in mid-air, and the star-shaped hammer head forged of gold at the end of the iron chain was constantly erupting with electric arcs. The moment the hammer landed, the shockwave of the hammer head smashing into the ground compressed the surrounding air into transparent ripples, and the contact point of the hammer head erupted with golden flames.

"Overlay the Level 4 'Heroic Challenger - Morning Star Hammer' and 'Heroic Challenger - Thousand Blades'! Construct the Overlay Network with two monsters, Xyz Summon!!!

Appear, my true trump card, my proudest strongest Heroic—

—Heroic Champion - Excalibur!!!"

The light particles in the Xyz vortex poured down like a galaxy, and they tore through space cracks in a violent trajectory. Each light particle carried a metallic red glow, condensing into armor patterns in the gale. Red fangs first appeared on the shoulder armor, and the chest armor flowed into shape like molten iron, finally forming boiling red flame battle armor around the warrior.

When the silver giant sword was pulled out of the light vortex, the blade condensed from light particles looked like it was forged from billions of miniature stars, and every swing dragged a comet-like silver trajectory. The moment the warrior landed, the shockwave that exploded under his feet melted a cross-shaped crack into the ground, and sword-intent sparks that had not yet extinguished condensed on the edge of the crack.

"Oh, finally appeared, Excalibur." Fujiki You Xuan said.

Go-sh's trump card, and also the strongest attacker of the Warrior-Type deck during the Xyz era, as far as Fujiki You Xuan knew, it had been developed into various different deck builds aiming for "OTK" in the physical card environment back then.

However, in fact, the Excalibur in the anime and the physical card were quite different.

The physical card Excalibur could only detach materials during his own Main Phase to double his ATK until the end of the opponent's next turn. In the anime, this effect could be activated during battle by detaching materials, including doubling ATK during battle in the opponent's turn.

However, in fact, if it were made into a physical card according to the anime effect, this card would absolutely not have obtained its competitive status back then. Because the Excalibur in the anime also had the most painful restriction.

"This card can only declare an attack if your Life Points are 500 or less." ===== CHAPTER 1143 =====
